The astrology forecast for the week of July 4, 2022 through July 10, 2022 features 3 major planetary aspects (Mercury sextile Mars, Mercury square Jupiter, Sun sextile Uranus) and Mars moves into Taurus and Mercury moves into Cancer.

So, the first week of July is pretty busy. Let’s dive right in.

Cosmic Overview

This week we have two planetary sign changes – Mercury moves out of Gemini and into Cancer, and energetic Mars grinds to a halt as he enters slow and steady Taurus.

Mercury in Cancer

On Tuesday, Mercury moves into Cancer. The sign of Cancer is ruled by the ever-changing Moon, and with Mercury in the sign of the crab, our thoughts may shift frequently and may be governed by our current emotional experiences. Since Mercury has no essential dignity in Cancer, you may experience constantly shifting emotional experiences, and you may have difficulty expressing your feelings because Cancer is considered a mute sign. Additionally, Cancer is associated with home and family, so you may find conversations with relatives and an increased focus on your home and current living experiences.

Mars in Taurus

Mars doesn’t care for the sign of Taurus, because it’s sooooo SLOW! Mars likes fast impulsive movement and prefers to act upon intuitive hunches that lead the warrior god to victory.  The earthy realm of Taurus is concerned about the real world, and Mars would prefer not to be bogged down my practical sensibilities.  Why?  Because it’s boring, and Mars hates being bored.

However, even though Mars prefers to be elsewhere, he still needs to perform. In Taurus, Mars is capable and consistent, and while Mars is in the sign of the bull, it’s an excellent time to focus on projects that bring tangible results. Furthermore, Mars in Taurus is extremely stubborn and becomes easily agitated if it feels thwarted by others.  You may need to stay mindful and be as proactive as possible.

Happy Independence Day if you live in the United States. We start the week off with the Moon moving through dutiful Virgo. Virgo is about life management and what you can do to bring order into your life. It’s an excellent day to clean up loose ends, focus on health-related matters, and even get a good workout. During the evening hours, the Moon applies by trine to Uranus.  An unexpected surprise may make your day!

Tuesday, July 5, 2022

After Mars and Mercury switch signs, they form a lovely sextile during the early morning hours.  Mercury sextile Mars is an extremely active aspect, and you can use this energy to focus on projects or objectives that need a boost of energy. You may feel more confident and assertive than you ordinarily do, and it’s easier to convey your thoughts and opinions to others. Mercury sextile Mars is also great if you need to debate an issue.

The Moon spends the day moving through fair-and-balanced Libra. It’s an excellent day to focus on relationship matters, especially if you need to repair one. This is also a good day to focus on resolving legal issues or to file legal documents.

Thursday, July 7, 2022

The Moon continues to move through Libra and forms a beneficial trine to Saturn.  It’s a good day to focus on business matters or do the work necessary to level up. Later this evening, be on guard, because the Moon squares Pluto and intense emotions may surface that are hard to control. Try to work through your feelings than reacting to them.

Friday, July 8, 2022

On Friday, the Moon moves through turbulent Scorpio and forms a nasty opposition to Mars shortly before dawn. You may feel agitated and easily annoyed by other peoples behaviors or attitudes. To add insult to injury, the Moon then opposes Uranus and then squares Saturn. Expect the unexpected and you may go through periods of self-doubt.

Mercury squares Jupiter in Aries. Your overall attitude will be positive and it’s an excellent time to make long-term plans and goals. Mercury square Jupiter is excellent for business transactions and contractual negotiations. Just make sure you read the fine print before signing the dotted line.

We close the week with the Sun sextile Uranus, which is a pleasant and harmonious aspect. It’s an excellent day to break free from the restraints of your usual routine and do something exciting and outside the box. You can also use this energy to make changes in your life, especially if you feel like your life has been in a rut.

So, I recently had a client that went through some extreme circumstances and during a coaching session, she asked me what was the psychological reason for experiences, in general?

I am sure that we have all asked ourselves this question at one point or another, and since there are astrological contributors this week that may bring about difficult experiences, I figured that I would attempt to answer it here.

Let me first say that I believe that the astrological chart describes a natural unfoldment of potential that is triggered by transits, progressions, and other astrological prognosticative tools, that provide opportunities for the chart to manifest and the individual to become a well-rounded individual.  The experiences we have, as a result of our natal chart, bring triggered, whether for good or ill, helps to navigate this unfoldment process.  Secondly, I believe that awareness of the daily astrological energies gives us the ability to consciously integrate astrological energies and make them useful in our lives, which is the point of transformational astrology. Experiences, triggered by astrological factors, serve the overall pattern that ultimately allows us to develop according to the natural laws that are essentially part of our inner design or plan.

Now, the reason this question is pertinent to this week’s astrology is that the Sun makes difficult aspects to both astrological ‘bad boys,’ Saturn (4/10) and Pluto (4/13).  The Sun is the governing body of the chart and when the Sun undergoes difficulties, then we usually experience them in the outer world first, through our experiences, and then we experience them inwardly by internally processing experiences and ultimately making changes when necessary.  In the case of Saturn, frustrations and limitations may lead to depression or feeling stymied and restricted.  In the case of Pluto, feelings of being controlled or dominated by outside influences may feel overwhelming, and at times, terrifying.  However, both planets, whether we like it or not, serve a purpose.  Saturn tells us to be dutiful and responsible; whereas Pluto tells us to release everything that is no longer usable or is preventing our further development.  The good news is that when you work with these two planets, you bring out their productive natures and ultimately feel more secure, stable, and your life transforms into what you want it to be.

In other cosmic news, Jupiter has been moving through Sagittarius since late last year, and this week will begin its annual retrograde cycle.  Jupiter in Sagittarius is about our beliefs and understanding of life, and a future that is filled with potential and creative possibilities that are better than what we have now.  So, when Jupiter goes retrograde (4/10) it reflects a cycle when we should question and review our core beliefs to see whether they are still useful.  If they are not, then you are given an opportunity to explore new beliefs and ideas that may resonate with who you are now.  This allows you to pursue life with more freedom and develop your true potential.  Jupiter remains retrograde until August 11th.

Cosmic Weather Forecast – March 11, 2019 – March 17, 2019

So, I am sure that you are going to get sick of hearing two words by the end of March – Mercury retrograde.

Of course, most people know what happens during Mercury’s retrograde status because it has seeped into pop-culture and has become part of our everyday vocabulary.   For those of you that are not aware, look at this list:

  1. Potential communication issues
  2. Do not sign documents, move, or make firm decisions
  3. Electronics may become problematic, especially computers and cell phones.
  4. Possible automobile issues.
  5. Travel issues and concerns.

That is some list, isn’t it?  But don’t fret Mercury retrograde can be used as a positive tool and with Mercury making several aspects this week, it’s a great time to work with him rather than against him.

In mythology, Mercury played several roles, but the two most important were messenger of the gods and the psychopomp that ushered the souls of the dead into the underworld.  Psychologically, you could say that Mercury rules the process of the conscious mind, the process of the unconscious becoming conscious, and all the processes in between.

During this retrograde cycle pay close attention to your dreams, fantasies, and the areas where Mercury is causing chaos because it will hold the keys to the areas of your life where attention may be required.  Ultimately, by actively encouraging the unconscious to become conscious, Mercury retrograde may help you level up and begin a new cycle in your life.

Cosmic Weather Forecast – February 18, 2019 – February 24, 2019

So, this week we have so much astrological energy that it may give you whiplash because almost every area of your life will be affected, but the good news is that the cosmic weather is all positive.

Can I get an amen, especially after that intense Mars – Uranus conjunction last week?

We have a couple of headliners this week – The Sun moves into Pisces and we have a Full Moon in Virgo.

On Monday, we leave the airy socially conscious sign of Aquarius and dive deeply into the watery world of emotional Pisces.  In Kabbalah, Pisces is considered the sign of joy because of the amount of light you will receive from the universe and you will find that you are more compassionate, understanding, and willing to help those around you.  However, be on guard and try to keep your personal boundaries in place because Pisces energy is so receptive to others that it is easy for people to take advantage of you.  Also, Pisces season heightens your intuition and creative abilities, and everyone can use more of that.

The Full Moon occurs in Virgo on Tuesday.  Now, this is an interesting Full Moon because it happens at the earliest degree of Virgo and reflects that old things must come to an end and that you need to embrace the new.  Holding on to ‘dead works will lead to apathy and depression, so do yourself a favor and just let it go regardless of how difficult it may be.

On the magical level, we can use this Full Moon to eliminate unhealthy patterns, dysfunctional behaviors, and self-destructive habits.  Additionally, since Virgo does have influence over our jobs, if you want to leave your current job and find something new, you have a six-month window to work through and then in late summer begin to magically petition for the job you ultimately want.
