After a week of a cosmic slowdown, the heavenly machine churns up again.  This week have four major aspects (Mars trine Neptune, Mercury sextile Saturn, Venus sextile Neptune, and Sun sextile Saturn), and a solar eclipse in Sagittarius.

Cosmic Overview:

First, all the major aspects this week are relatively light. The only thing that is peculiar is that they involve two planets that really don’t like each other – Saturn and Neptune.  Saturn is interested in the physical world, which is what you can observe, do, and accomplish. He requires effort and determination.  Neptune is interested in the ‘other world’, meaning everything beyond the physical. In Neptune’s world, there is no concept of time, reality, or rules; everything is fluid.  So, there will be a tug of war between the need to take care of duties and responsibilities, and the need to escape worldly burdens. It’s going to be necessary to navigate both worlds. My suggestion is to take care of what has to be done and spend plenty of time engaging in activities that feed your soul.

Secondly, we have a solar eclipse in Sagittarius early Saturday morning.  This eclipse is the conclusion of the eclipse series that began in 2020. Sagittarius is the sign that represents big picture perspectives, philosophy, and beliefs.  However, we have a curious happening in the cosmos, because the eclipse is square the centaur Nessus.

In mythology, Nessus is a member of the rowdy Centaur clan.  He was the ferryman at the Euenos river. Hercules arrives at the river and pays for his wife Deinara to ride to the other side. Upon reaching her destination, Nessus attempts to rape Deinara, and Hercules shoots him with an arrow tainted by the deadly Hydra’s poisonous blood.  As he is dying, Nessus gives a vial of his blood to Deinara and tells her that it will keep Hercules faithful.

Of course, since this is a myth, you know what will happen. After a while, Deinara fears Hercules is being unfaithful, so she pours Nessus’ poisoned blood on her husband’s tunic. Hercules wears the tunic and dies. After his death, Zeus brings Hercules to Mount Olympus where he is honored for his heroic activities.

Since Sagittarius is about higher learning, knowledge, and philosophy (not to mention its image of the Centaur), I felt that including Nessus was necessary. In the horoscope, Nessus reflects poisoning, and since he is currently moving through Pisces, it’s collective poisoning that we are concerned with. Over the last few years, we have noticed how dangerous misinformation is and what it can do to the global community. If you are on a social media platform or visit news sites, you are exposed to it on the daily. In many ways, we are ‘poisoned’ by collective movements, many of people involved are true believers in what they are posting, but propaganda can be deadly and can poison ordinary (and even some unordinary) people and their outlook on life.  I am hopeful that with this aspect being a separating square, much of this will begin to fade away, because we are encouraged to leave ‘group think’ (which can be equally poisonous) behind and focus on our big picture objectives. We need to take our ‘personal beliefs’ and take charge of our ‘personal worlds’, and start living our best lives, and leave the noise to others who wish to participate. Instead of being poisoned by the beliefs or statements of others, we need to be the cure.

There’s a lot of activity today with three major aspects – Mercury sextile Saturn, Venus sextile Neptune, and the Sun sextile Saturn.

Overall, Tuesday will be an interesting day, because Venus sextile Neptune would rather relax, smell the roses, and connect with loved ones, but duty calls.

During the early morning hours, Mercury sextiles Saturn in Aquarius. It’s an excellent day to work on tasks that need completion and get them off your to do list. Mercury sextile Saturn is very serious and tends to be steadfast and focused. So, any tasks that require precision and exactitude are recommended.

Later in the day, the Sun sextiles Saturn. The Sun sextile Saturn is an amazing aspect for career and professional advancement. Use this aspect to achieve the favor of supervisors and management, because you will be rewarded for a job well done.

Finally, this evening honor Venus sextile Neptune.  Spend some time doing something you enjoy.  If you are in a relationship, this is an auspicious day to take care of your partners needs. Otherwise, spiritual activities, the arts, and meditation are recommended.

It’s a perfect day to do some self-care, relaxation, and pampering. A deep tissue massage or a mani and pedi would be an excellent way to work with this energy.

Tonight is the perfect time to let your hair down and spend a night out on the town.

We have our final eclipse of eclipse season with the New Moon (solar eclipse) in Sagittarius. The sign of Sagittarius is about the potentials and possibilities of a better future. Have you been pursuing your dreams, or have your ideals been overly influenced by others, and therefore, have you diminished your light?  Have you not pursued your goals because of fear – either of failure or rejection? Now it’s time to break free and start living life on your terms. But be careful, solar eclipses are potent, and you should proceed slowly and methodically.  The good news is that the result is living your best life!

The astrology forecast for the week of November 22, 2021 through November 28, 2021 features only two astrological events – Mercury moves into Sagittarius, and the Sun joins Mercury at the end of the week.  So, after two turbulent forecasts, we get a bit of relief.

Cosmic Overview

We are now fully in Sagittarius season, and after the fireworks of Scorpio season, the energy of the centaur archer is welcomed. The sign of Sagittarius is about potential, possibilities, and faith in a better life.  It’s not a sudden Christmas miracle that fills people with good tidings, generosity, and wonderment. It’s just the season – Sagittarius, that is.

This Sagittarius season features Jupiter making his last stand in Aquarius before he slips out of the dark Lord Saturn’s grasp. Jupiter is the planet of expansion, luck, and optimism, and it is easy to see that his blessings have been curtailed over the past two years while dancing with Saturn in Capricorn and Aquarius.  However, despite Jupiter’s position, Sagittarius season encourages us to perceive life’s potentials, and it’s an excellent time to create your goals and resolutions for 2022.  That way you are ready to go – ON DAY ONE!

After lurking in the darkness for the past few weeks, Mercury moves out of Scorpio and basks in the light of Sagittarius.  Mercury in Sagittarius is not concerned with facts and details, as they are only stepping stones for possibilities.  Mercury in Sagittarius is extremely intuitive and able to anticipate trends and turn them into opportunities.  While Mercury is in Sagittarius, it’s time to look at the possible and create a strategy to achieve results. Focus on the big picture and leave the past behind.

Cosmic Overview

The prime newsmaker this week is a lunar eclipse that occurs on Friday, November 19, 2021 at 28 Taurus.  This lunar eclipse is sandwiched between the fixed stars Caput Algol (off with your head) and Alcyone (something to cry about), so it is intense, especially as the eclipse is ruled by Venus in Capricorn. Eclipse energy is highly potent.  If you know your chart, look at the house with Taurus on the cusp, and this will reveal the areas of life that will be influenced.

The sign of Taurus has to do with resources, money, and values. These are subjects are often activated with an eclipse in the sign of the bull.  Since astrology is an instructive language, this eclipse tells us that we need to look at how we manage our financial matters, how we obtain goods, and what is important to us.  I have long believed that our checkbooks reveal where our true values lie, because it is a ledger of what we purchase and where we spend our funds.

Since this eclipse is conjoined two negative fixed stars, we can expect financial woes to be headline news and potentially further problems with the supply chain. We can also expect political infighting related to money to become increasingly tense. 

So, word to the wise – get your shopping done early this holiday season.

We start the week off with the Sun forming a square to Jupiter in Aquarius. Now, despite the aspect Jupiter attempts to expand any planet he contacts, which is a good thing.  Sun-Jupiter lets you go for the gusto and achieve whatever you desire, as long as you stay focused and don’t get too carried away.  However, you need to remember that the nature of Sun square Jupiter is to take things to extremes, and this can potentially lead to conflicts and burnout.  With Sun square Jupiter, it’s always best to be mindful of other people’s perspectives and try to avoid letting your ego run the show.  Self-importance is a color that’s never looked good on anyone.

Last week, we had the tumultuous buildup of Mercury-Mars-Saturn, and Mercury late last week transferred that frustration and tension to Uranus in Taurus.  In astrologese, this is called ‘translation of light’.  Since Mercury rules communication and thoughts, he has given Uranus plenty of time to brew, and may have ignited an urge to break free of any constraints that you have in your life. Today, explosive Mars joins the show as he opposes Uranus. 

Mars oppose Uranus is a volatile aspect, and you may need to control your temper and pay close attention to your reactions.  If you feel restricted or confined in any way, there may be a need to break free.  However, if you decide to make changes, you may experience push back from those around you.  Unhealthy and toxic situations may come to a head while this aspect is active. Stay on guard!

Last week, I said that in mid-November, the ‘bowels of hell’ are going to open – and surprise, this is the week it begins.

On Wednesday, we have three major aspects that all come together during the day. Mercury, the planet of communication, forms a conjunction with powerful and impulsive Mars during the morning hours, and then the trickster god squares Saturn.  Later in the day, Mars in full battle armor takes on Saturn himself, and the likely result will be increased tensions and frustrations over the next few days.

I’m not going to sugarcoat this; this series of aspects is rough business, and you need to stay on guard and try not to react as much as possible. Instead, you need to try to use your wise mind before making decisions. Of course, I will break the aspects down completely in the daily breakdown.

Anytime we go through rough cosmic energies, you need to take care of yourself, stay hydrated, and get plenty of rest. If you have a spiritual practice, I recommend meditation and taking breaks to reconnect with your higher source.

From an astrological perspective, Wednesday is the most important day of the week.

During the morning hours, Mercury conjoins Mars in Scorpio.  Mercury conjunct Mars comes with a warning label because your reactions may happen faster than your mind can process things, and this can lead to tension, arguments, and anger.  You need to be careful with what you say, because the force and intensity of Mars may lead to words or actions that may be difficult to repair or roll back.

Mercury will then form a tense square to Saturn in Aquarius.  Mercury square Saturn has difficulty expressing itself, is often fearful of other people’s thoughts or reactions, and can lead to feelings of being misunderstood or ignored. Of course, this can lead to frustration and even rage that may be amplified by Mars squaring Saturn on Wednesday evening. Since Mars square Saturn often limits or prevents our ability to act, you need to proceed with caution, especially if you are irritable or annoyed.  Feelings of self-doubt or existential anxiety may also be a concern.
