The astrology forecast for the week of April 18, 2022 through April 24, 2022 features five planetary aspects (Mercury conjunct Uranus, Venus sextile Neptune, Sun square Pluto, Mercury square Saturn, Mercury sextile Neptune), and the Sun moves out of Aries and into earthy Taurus.

It’s going to be a cosmically busy this week, but all the action occurs at the beginning of the week and the end of the week. So, without further ado…

Cosmic Overview

This week is the beginning of Taurus season, so I figured I would give a little insight into a sign that is much more complex than money and finances.

There are many stories which you can associate with Taurus – King Midas, Ferdinand the Bull, and many fairytales, which all fit the bill. However, I feel that the myth of King Minos of Crete is perhaps one of the most important.

King Minos is the son of Zeus and Europa, who had to compete with his two siblings to ascend to the throne of one of the wealthiest islands of Greece. Minos claimed the throne by divine right, since his father, the king of the gods Zeus, pursued Europa and impregnated her in the form of a bull. Minos prayed to his uncle Poseidon to send a bull out of the sea to seal the deal, and agreed to sacrifice the bull in his honor. Poseidon granted Minos’ request and sent a beautiful bull, which Minos immediately desired. But, instead of sacrificing the bull in the god’s honor, he added the bull to his herd. He then deceptively sacrificed another bull to the god of the seas.

Poseidon was not amused and sent Aphrodite (the ruler of Taurus) to inflict Queen Pasiphae (Minos’s wife) with lust for the bull. Pasiphae instructs the craftsman Daedalus to create her a cow that she could climb into. Once completed, she entered the wooden cow, and then the bull entered her. Nine months later, she gave birth to a half man/half bull creature called the Minotaur.

Minos felt deep shame for his sins and had Daedalus (this guy suffers his own breakdown later because of his participation, which could symbolize our need to stick to our personal values rather than the values of others) create a structure known as the Labyrinth to house the Minotaur, and each month a virgin boy and girl were sent into the Labyrinth to feed the beast.

Now, of course, this is a rather twisted story, but there is a core to the story that gives us a glimpse into Taurus. Crete is an exceptionally wealthy country, and in its vast abundance and potent fertile lands lies a beast that threatens to devour the landscape unless it is ‘contained’. Perhaps, the Minotaur lives within each of us, and during Taurus season, we need to sort through what we possess and our motivations for obtaining it. Furthermore, we may need to look at our stewardship over our money and resources, and are we maintaining it and using it appropriately, or are we wasting it by feeding an inner minotaur.

We begin the week with three major aspects – Mercury conjunct Uranus, Venus sextile Uranus, and the Sun square transformative Pluto.

Let’s tackle the Uranian aspects first.

Uranus likes to break free of earthly limits. He is associated with human progress, ingenuity, and tearing down the existing established order.  When Uranus aspects other planets, he tends to stir them up, electrify them, if you will, and expose those planets to something new. Uranus likes to challenge your existing world to bring new elements into your life that keep things exciting. For earthy types, Uranian energy can be unpredictable, change (even if it’s for their benefit) can be frightening, and the unexpected can be difficult because it’s not reliable.

On Monday, Mercury conjoins Uranus.  Your mind may be restless, and there may be a steady flow of new ideas, inspiration, and intuitive hunches. This may bring opportunities into your life that may pay off if you take advantage of them. However, if you have trouble managing the surge of frenetic mental energy, you may feel anxious and ill at ease. It’s always best to expect the unexpected.

A few hours later, Venus will sextile Uranus. You may need to break away from the day-to-day monotony and focus on exciting and stimulating things. Try to break up your routine and do something new with those you care about. Furthermore, you may attract new friends that are fascinating and bring new and intense ideas to the table.

Now, onto the Sun square Pluto.

Whereas Uranus brings unexpected change, Pluto amputates the areas of life that are no longer working, and well past their expiration date. This is a tricky aspect that you should not avoid. Areas of your life that are not working will be revealed, and it’s your job to change them and make them more manageable. Since Pluto is Pluto, resistance to change can lead to more problems. Let go of old patterns of behavior that are not working for you. It’s time to purge the old and make way for the new.

We leave the fiery sign of Aries and return to earth as Taurus season officially begins at 10:24 EST/7:24 PST. Whereas Aries season is about potentials, Taurus season is about facts and our ability to channel the potentials revealed last month into something tangible. Use the energy of the next month to realistically look at life and make choices and decisions based on reality. Taurus season is also a great time to get your fiscal picture in order.

The Moon moves through energetic Sagittarius. It’s best to get everything you need done during the early morning hours, as the Moon applies to a sextile with Saturn. Later in the day, it will be difficult to remain focused as the Moon squares Neptune. You may feel moments of confusion, so it’s best to do things that don’t require heavy lifting. This evening, take advantage of the Moon square Jupiter and do some things you enjoy.

The Moon moves through responsible Capricorn and sextiles Mars. You may feel more energized than normal, and it’s the perfect time to take charge of your life. You will notice that you feel more confident and self-assured. Tackle projects that require a little something extra.

The Moon continues to make its monthly trip through Capricorn, the sign of the sea-goat. Throughout the day, the Moon makes several favorable aspects. Your day should go relatively smoothly, and it’s an excellent day to take care of your responsibilities. However, be on guard this evening as the Moon conjoins Pluto, and intense emotions may surface.  Manage your emotional surges with some self-care.

The Moon spends the day moving through Aquarius. It’s an excellent day to meet up with your inner circle and catch up. If you’ve been overwhelmed by worldly issues and concerns, spend some time today doing something you enjoy or exploring something new. If you need to share your opinions with others, today is a great day to do it.

Mercury forms a difficult square to Saturn in Aquarius. You may find that you are dwelling on the problem areas of your life, and sometimes feel isolated and alone. It will be difficult to communicate with others, and you may feel misunderstood. Try to push away negative thoughts if they surface.

It looks like it’s going to be another busy week. So, let’s dive right in!

Cosmic Overview

This week the cosmic headliner is Jupiter conjoin Neptune in Pisces. On one level, Jupiter conjunct Neptune may potentially breathe a little compassion, understanding, and empathy into a world lacking in human decency.  You may find that you are called upon to help those in need, or you may decide to do more spiritual based work. On the other hand, Jupiter can expand some dubious Neptunian characteristics, and we will see a deluge of misinformation, cult-like behaviors, and for a lack of a better phrase – ‘fake news’.  The key to working through the trickier side of Jupiter-Neptune is to ensure your ideas are your own and that you are not following people blinding.  Do your own research (FYI: 15 minutes on YouTube learning science from someone who failed 8th grade biology is not research) and investigate anything before leaping headfirst into an idea or cause.

If you encounter Jupiter-Neptune gone amok, usually in the form of your crazy uncle or weird guy (or girl) in your social media feeds, try to remember that Neptune seeks redemption and to ease pain and suffering, and that many people are suffering for various reasons. Try to be as understanding as possible, even if you disagree with them. Use compassion before condemnation!

The astrology forecast for the week of April 4, 2022 through April 10, 2022 features four major aspects (Mars conjunct Saturn, Mercury sextile Saturn, Mercury sextile Mars, and Mercury square Pluto) and Venus and Mercury change signs.

So, the cosmos picks up speed this week. Let’s dive right in!

Cosmic Overview

The headliner this week is Venus moving out of Aquarius and into Pisces, the sign of her exaltation. This is good news, because Venus has been in Saturn ruled signs (Capricorn and Aquarius) since November 5, 2021, and she has been copresent with Mars and Saturn in Aquarius (part of the time besieged) since early March.

So, now Venus is free to do her thing, and since she is copresent with Jupiter (also in Pisces), we should begin to see a lightening of the energy and improvements in love and finances.  Also, note the house where Pisces is located in your chart, and the two houses that Venus (Taurus and Libra) rules, because they will also see an upswing.

The positive way to work with Venus in Pisces (because there are dysfunctional applications like codependency and idealization) is to use this energy to improve relationships, and this may include some necessary self-sacrifice.

All relationships go through troubles, difficulties, and sometimes get off track. Now is an excellent time to do some inner work to see where your relationships problem areas are, and do what you can to improve them. Since Venus is in Pisces, the ability to empathize and be compassionate is amplified, which allows compromises to occur and healing to begin.  Remember, Venus will also be in Pisces for your partner, so it’s easier to achieve reciprocity in relationships. If compromises cannot be achieved, the healing may begin when you accept the relationship is beyond repair, and that you need to begin loving yourself by making difficult decisions about your relationship’s future.

There is one warning: when working on relationship issues and compromising, do not lose sight of your boundaries.

We start the week off with a nasty Mars-Saturn configuration.  Mars conjoin Saturn is extremely frustrating, and it feels like driving with your brakes on. You may feel that people are obstructing or working against you, and you may need to push away negative thoughts if they surface. On a more positive note, this aspect is good for work that requires stamina and focus.

The Moon continues to move through Gemini and forms beneficial aspects to the Sun, Mercury, and Saturn. It’s an excellent day for business related matters, especially if contracts and legal negotiations are involved. Furthermore, if you need to resolve a legal matter, this is a great day to begin the process of getting that done.

Mercury in Aries forms a helpful sextile to Saturn in Aquarius. This is an auspicious day to take an honest look at your life and see what needs to change. Sometimes, we get caught up in our daily rituals, so that we fail to take a moment to do an honest inventory of our lives.  Mercury sextile Saturn is the perfect aspect to do so. Additionally, Mercury sextile Saturn is an excellent time to work on projects that require precision and focus.

Issues that may have occurred on Monday due to Mars’s conjunction with Saturn will have the opportunity to be resolved, as long as you are willing to negotiate. Furthermore, Mercury sextile Mars gives you the initiative to take advantage of any opportunities you are presented with at this time. Since this aspect is favorable, matters will usually turn out positive. So, if you need to act, don’t hesitate to do so.

The end of the week brings us two cosmic events – Mercury in Aries squares Pluto in Capricorn, and Mercury leaves the sign of the ram and heads into earthy Taurus.

During the early morning hours, Mercury squares Pluto.  Mercury square Pluto is a tricky aspect, because it’s extremely compulsive and leans towards obsessive thought patterns.  Try to avoid pushing your view on others, because it may lead to potentially unnecessary conflicts. If you are obsessed with an idea or have intrusive thought patterns, use distraction or self-soothing to minimize their effects.

Later in the day, Mercury moves out of Aries and into Taurus. Rather than understanding life through potentials and possibilities, we are now face to face with the real world of facts. While Mercury is in Taurus, it’s an excellent time to slow down and investigate matters before coming to a decision. Use careful thought and consideration at this time.
