Astrology Forecast for the Week of May 16, 2022 – May 22, 2022

The astrology forecast for the week of May 16, 2022 through May 22, 2022 features five planetary aspects (Mars conjunct Neptune, the Sun trine Pluto, Mercury Rx sextile Jupiter, the Sun conjunct Mercury Rx, and Mars sextile Pluto), sign changes for the Sun and Mercury Rx, and a potent lunar eclipse in Scorpio.

This week is piping hot and has more activity than the New York subway system. So, without further ado, let’s dive in.

Cosmic Overview

The big newsmaker this week is the lunar eclipse in turbulent Scorpio on May 15, 2022 at 12:14 AM EST, and on May 14, 2022 at 9:14 PM PST

The sign of Scorpio is connected to the darker parts of your personality, the sides of yourself that you prefer not to show in the light of day. It’s an excellent Full Moon to protect yourself from yourself and work through self-defeating behaviors or self-sabotage. Often the things that we do are not driven by conscious thought, but are rooted in our childhood experiences for better or worse. However, this is your show – you get to cast your own characters, defeat your own monsters, marry your own prince (or princess), and yes, write off any characters that no longer serve your purposes. So, get to work on your new script!

Daily Breakdown

Monday, May 16, 2022

After the lunar eclipse occurs shortly after midnight (on the east coast), the Moon will switch signs and move into Sagittarius during the early morning hours. The Moon in Sagittarius is feisty and optimistic, and since it forms a lovely trine to Jupiter, it should be a positive day.  However, watch out this afternoon, because the Moon will oppose Mercury Rx, and communication issues are likely.

Tuesday, May 17, 2022

The Moon continues to move through free-spirited Sagittarius and makes a lovely trine to Venus in Aries. It’s not the best day for heavy lifting or focusing on duties and responsibilities, but it’s an excellent day to do something enjoyable. But keep your guard up this evening, as the Moon squares Mars, and tensions with others may become a potential problem.

Wednesday, May 18, 2022

Mars conjoins Neptune in Pisces. The good news is that Mars and Jupiter are in mutual reception (in each other’s sign), and this will hopefully mitigate the energy. The bad news is that Mars conjunct Neptune is a tough aspect that comes with a side order of low energy, self-doubt, and inner insecurities. It’s best to avoid people who may potentially take advantage of you. However, it’s a good day to do charity work or help another person – as long as your personal agenda is not involved.

Thursday, May 19, 2022

Thursday is a potent day, astrologically speaking. We start the day off with a helpful trine between the Sun and Pluto.  Sometimes, you need powerful (Pluto) experiences to see reality for what it is, and then you can use these experiences to make changes in your life that help you level up. Later in the day, Mercury sextile Jupiter gives you the opportunity to see the big picture and make future plans. Mercury sextile Jupiter is also great for business decisions.  Just make sure you wait until after June 3rd to act, because Mercury is retrograde.

Friday, May 20, 2022

On Friday, the Sun moves out of Taurus and into Gemini. Gemini season helps you explore how you think about things, as well as helps formulate ideas and personal opinions. While the Sun is in the sign of the twins, you will notice that you need to be more social and explore new things. Use this energy to explore all your options to enrich your universe.

Saturday, May 21, 2022

As the Sun conjoins Mercury Rx in Gemini, we enter the halfway point in this Mercury Rx cycle. The Sun conjunct Mercury is an extremely social aspect, and since it’s the weekend, it’s a great day to connect with your inner circle to catch up or engage in high-spirited ideas that fascinate you. It’s also another great day to plan your future, especially activities that pique your interest.

Sunday May 22, 2022

We close the week with Mars sextile Pluto in Capricorn. Mars sextile Pluto gives you the opportunity to claim your power and also gives you the ability to course correct, especially if you’ve been traveling down the wrong road. Pay close attention to the detour signs in your life, as they are clear signs of what you need to change. Also, Mercury retrogrades back into stubborn Taurus.

See you next week!

Astrology Forecast for the Week of May 9, 2022 – May 15, 2022

The astrology forecast for the week of May 9, 2022 through May 15, 2022 features two planetary aspects (Sun square Saturn and Sun sextile Neptune), Mercury turning retrograde in Gemini, and Jupiter moving out of Pisces and into Aries.

So, there is a lot going on this week.  Let’s dive right in.

Cosmic Overview

This week, the cosmic juggernaut Jupiter moves out of Pisces (he will return later in the year) and into Aries. In astrology, Jupiter is the planet of expansion – he makes our lives grow bigger, better, bolder, and hopefully wiser. When Jupiter moves into a new sign, he expands the natural tendencies of the sign, and since he is moving into Aries, get ready for a giant dose of get up and go.

The sign of Aries is extremely individualistic and concerned with matters related to the self. Some keywords associated with Aries are initiating, energetic, forceful, and courageous. When Jupiter moves through the sign of the ram, he will expand our lives by pushing our individual selves forward. So, this is an excellent time to go after whatever you want in life, whether career related, your personal goals, or your inner desires. Jupiter gives us the ability to make things happen, and the drive and determination to succeed.

Overall, it is time for you to seize your moment!  Don’t let this energy pass you by, it only comes around every 12 years.

Daily Breakdown

Monday, May 9, 2022

The Moon moves through energetic Leo and opposes Saturn early in the day. The Moon in opposition to Saturn could lead to feelings of isolation, negative mindsets, and difficulties with authority figures. After the Moon opposes Saturn, it goes void of course, until she moves into Virgo. While the Moon is void of course, it’s best to avoid beginning anything new or signing documents. The Moon moves into Virgo at 6:53 PM EST/3:53 PST.

Tuesday, May 10, 2022

Besides Jupiter moving into Aries, Mercury turns retrograde in Gemini. Mercury retrograde in Gemini instructs us to look at our thoughts and opinions, and make adjustments if necessary. Avoid making major decisions and expect communication issues. Also, make sure you keep your computer and electronic devices updated and backed up. Since Mercury rules Gemini, you can expect this retrograde to be a doozy.

Wednesday, May 11, 2022

The Moon continues its trip through Virgo and forms tense aspects to Mars and Neptune. Mild disagreements with others may occur during the early morning hours. Be as proactive as possible, and avoid reacting to other people’s issues.  Later in the day, the Moon opposes Neptune. You may experience some mild confusion, and it’s best not to make any decisions at this time.

Thursday, May 12, 2022

The Moon moves into Libra during the early morning hours and opposes Jupiter, Venus and trines Mercury. Although this is not the best day for heavy lifting, it’s an excellent day to spend some time enjoying your life and having some good old-fashioned fun. You will also want to socialize and connect with others.

Friday, May 13, 2022

The Moon continues to move through Libra and forms a lovely trine to Saturn in Aquarius. Yesterday was about fun in the Sun, but today is all about taking care of business.  Make sure you take time out today to take care of your duties and responsibilities. Legal matters may also be an issue.

Saturday, May 14, 2022

The Moon moves into Scorpio, the sign of the upcoming lunar eclipse that happens on Monday. Expect intense emotions to surface, and problems from the past may need resolution. Try to be as non-reactive as possible when dealing with others, because they may be potentially volatile.

Sunday, May 15, 2022

We close the week with a few solar aspects, the most significant being the Sun square Saturn. Today is a battle between your personal gratification and your duties and responsibilities. You may feel depressed and restrictive, and you may want to break free of your circumstances.  Try to push away negative thoughts if they surface.

To help you with Mercury Rx, I have included the following:

Mercury Rx Dirty Dozen! Tips and Tricks to Wrangling the Trickster God

  1. Make sure you go over anything contractual thoroughly.  Make sure all the i’s are dotted, and all the t’s are crossed. If you can get away with it, wait until after the retrograde to sign on the dotted line.
  2. Avoid starting anything new.  New projects tend to have communication problems and mishaps when initiated during this process.
  3. Put a watch on your tongue.  (If it is not worth saying, don’t say it)
  4. Check your vehicles for any potential problems.  Before Mercury goes retrograde, is the best time for a service call.
  5. Avoid buying real estate or renting apartments.  Usually, this means you will move again during a future Mercury Rx.
  6. Using mail delivery services that offer tracking and insurance.
  7. Check, recheck, and check again any travel plans you have or appointments on the books.
  8. If you do travel, don’t take anything of importance or value. Only bring items that you do not care if they are lost or stolen.
  9. Expect people from the past to resurface.  However, once they crawl out of whatever cavern they came from, proceed with caution.
  10. Back up all electronic devices.
  11. Avoid buying an automobile.
  12. Mercury Rx is a great time to scour places (online and offline) for great deals!

See you next week!

Astrology Forecast for the Week of May 2, 2022 – May 8, 2022

The astrology forecast for the week of May 2, 2022 through May 8, 2022 features 5 major planetary aspects (Jupiter sextile Pluto, Mars sextile Uranus, Sun conjunct Uranus, Mercury sextile Venus, and the Sun sextile Mars) and Venus moves out of Pisces and into Aries.

May is one of the busiest months of the year, and the first week of May doesn’t disappoint. Let’s dive right in.

Cosmic Overview

This week Jupiter sextiles Pluto, one of the outer planets. This aspect is incredible to work with if you want to make some major life changes. Pluto is the planet that gives us personal power if we work with it proactively, and Jupiter expands Pluto’s natural energies. So, this is a powerful cycle to make dynamic changes internally and externally, and you can use this energy to reform any area of your life that you want to change.

While Jupiter sextile Pluto is active, make sure you take advantage of it, because you will have the energy to accomplish whatever you put your mind to, and achieve greater control over your life. So, anything you put off, or haven’t pursued, or been fearful of tackling, now is the time to seize your moment.

Daily Breakdown

Monday, May 2, 2022

Venus moves out of Pisces, the sign of her exaltation, and into Aries, the sign of her detriment. Venus is the planet associated with love and relationships, and the sign of Aries is extremely self-focused. So, while Venus is in Aries, she is concerned with her own individual pursuits and desires, and she has the drive to go out and get it. Now, this can be difficult for relationships, and you may need to be patient with your partners (all of them) and yourself during this process, especially since Venus in Aries likes a challenge, is wildly competitive, and will fight to get what she wants. Venus remains in Aries until May 28th.

Tuesday, May 3, 2022

Besides, Jupiter sextile Pluto, the Moon moves through social Gemini. Expect minor disagreements during the morning hours, as the Moon squares feisty Mars.  Try to be as patient as possible when dealing with others. A proactive approach is the best approach.

Wednesday, May 4, 2022

Mars forms a sextile to Uranus in Taurus. You will be itching for new experiences, especially if your life has been monotonous recently. Furthermore, if you need to break free of boundaries and limitations, Mars sextile Uranus helps you break through barriers with new insights and solutions. It’s also a great time to make new friends that stimulate your soul and provide some excitement in your life.

Thursday, May 5, 2022

The Sun conjoins Uranus in Taurus. It’s going to be another day that you need to break free from the confines of your daily life and do something different. You may feel restless and constrained, and this could lead to anxiety if you don’t work with this energy proactively. If you have a hard time creating change or change in general, you may feel nothing is working out the way you planned, and this may lead to feelings of frustration. Although you may want to cling onto things in your life, letting them go may be your best option.

Friday, May 6, 2022

This weekend will be decent, starting with Mercury sextile Venus in Aries. It’s an excellent day for socializing, connecting with others, and enjoying the pleasures of life. Mercury sextile Venus can also put you in touch with your true feelings, especially about love and romance. Tonight is excellent for a date night, so go out and enjoy yourself.

Saturday, May 7, 2022

The Sun forms a lovely sextile to Mars. This is a high energy aspect that you should take advantage of, because it gives you the drive and determination to accomplish whatever you desire. You will notice that you are self-assertive, and if you need to ask someone to meet your needs, now is the time to do it.

Sunday, May 8, 2022

We close the week with the Moon in fiery Leo. It’s an excellent day to play and let your inner child roar. Expect some minor unexpected surprises during the early afternoon when the Moon squares disruptive Uranus, but try not to let it steal your joy. Otherwise, the day should go relatively smoothly.

See you next week!

Astrology Forecast for the week of April 18, 2022 – April 24, 2022

The astrology forecast for the week of April 18, 2022 through April 24, 2022 features five planetary aspects (Mercury conjunct Uranus, Venus sextile Neptune, Sun square Pluto, Mercury square Saturn, Mercury sextile Neptune), and the Sun moves out of Aries and into earthy Taurus.

It’s going to be a cosmically busy this week, but all the action occurs at the beginning of the week and the end of the week. So, without further ado…

Cosmic Overview

This week is the beginning of Taurus season, so I figured I would give a little insight into a sign that is much more complex than money and finances.

There are many stories which you can associate with Taurus – King Midas, Ferdinand the Bull, and many fairytales, which all fit the bill. However, I feel that the myth of King Minos of Crete is perhaps one of the most important.

King Minos is the son of Zeus and Europa, who had to compete with his two siblings to ascend to the throne of one of the wealthiest islands of Greece. Minos claimed the throne by divine right, since his father, the king of the gods Zeus, pursued Europa and impregnated her in the form of a bull. Minos prayed to his uncle Poseidon to send a bull out of the sea to seal the deal, and agreed to sacrifice the bull in his honor. Poseidon granted Minos’ request and sent a beautiful bull, which Minos immediately desired. But, instead of sacrificing the bull in the god’s honor, he added the bull to his herd. He then deceptively sacrificed another bull to the god of the seas.

Poseidon was not amused and sent Aphrodite (the ruler of Taurus) to inflict Queen Pasiphae (Minos’s wife) with lust for the bull. Pasiphae instructs the craftsman Daedalus to create her a cow that she could climb into. Once completed, she entered the wooden cow, and then the bull entered her. Nine months later, she gave birth to a half man/half bull creature called the Minotaur.

Minos felt deep shame for his sins and had Daedalus (this guy suffers his own breakdown later because of his participation, which could symbolize our need to stick to our personal values rather than the values of others) create a structure known as the Labyrinth to house the Minotaur, and each month a virgin boy and girl were sent into the Labyrinth to feed the beast.

Now, of course, this is a rather twisted story, but there is a core to the story that gives us a glimpse into Taurus. Crete is an exceptionally wealthy country, and in its vast abundance and potent fertile lands lies a beast that threatens to devour the landscape unless it is ‘contained’. Perhaps, the Minotaur lives within each of us, and during Taurus season, we need to sort through what we possess and our motivations for obtaining it. Furthermore, we may need to look at our stewardship over our money and resources, and are we maintaining it and using it appropriately, or are we wasting it by feeding an inner minotaur.

Daily Breakdown

Monday, April 18, 2022

We begin the week with three major aspects – Mercury conjunct Uranus, Venus sextile Uranus, and the Sun square transformative Pluto.

Let’s tackle the Uranian aspects first.

Uranus likes to break free of earthly limits. He is associated with human progress, ingenuity, and tearing down the existing established order.  When Uranus aspects other planets, he tends to stir them up, electrify them, if you will, and expose those planets to something new. Uranus likes to challenge your existing world to bring new elements into your life that keep things exciting. For earthy types, Uranian energy can be unpredictable, change (even if it’s for their benefit) can be frightening, and the unexpected can be difficult because it’s not reliable.

On Monday, Mercury conjoins Uranus.  Your mind may be restless, and there may be a steady flow of new ideas, inspiration, and intuitive hunches. This may bring opportunities into your life that may pay off if you take advantage of them. However, if you have trouble managing the surge of frenetic mental energy, you may feel anxious and ill at ease. It’s always best to expect the unexpected.

A few hours later, Venus will sextile Uranus. You may need to break away from the day-to-day monotony and focus on exciting and stimulating things. Try to break up your routine and do something new with those you care about. Furthermore, you may attract new friends that are fascinating and bring new and intense ideas to the table.

Now, onto the Sun square Pluto.

Whereas Uranus brings unexpected change, Pluto amputates the areas of life that are no longer working, and well past their expiration date. This is a tricky aspect that you should not avoid. Areas of your life that are not working will be revealed, and it’s your job to change them and make them more manageable. Since Pluto is Pluto, resistance to change can lead to more problems. Let go of old patterns of behavior that are not working for you. It’s time to purge the old and make way for the new.

Tuesday, April 19, 2022

We leave the fiery sign of Aries and return to earth as Taurus season officially begins at 10:24 EST/7:24 PST. Whereas Aries season is about potentials, Taurus season is about facts and our ability to channel the potentials revealed last month into something tangible. Use the energy of the next month to realistically look at life and make choices and decisions based on reality. Taurus season is also a great time to get your fiscal picture in order.

Wednesday, April 20, 2022

The Moon moves through energetic Sagittarius. It’s best to get everything you need done during the early morning hours, as the Moon applies to a sextile with Saturn. Later in the day, it will be difficult to remain focused as the Moon squares Neptune. You may feel moments of confusion, so it’s best to do things that don’t require heavy lifting. This evening, take advantage of the Moon square Jupiter and do some things you enjoy.

Thursday, April 21, 2022

The Moon moves through responsible Capricorn and sextiles Mars. You may feel more energized than normal, and it’s the perfect time to take charge of your life. You will notice that you feel more confident and self-assured. Tackle projects that require a little something extra.

Friday, April 22, 2022

The Moon continues to make its monthly trip through Capricorn, the sign of the sea-goat. Throughout the day, the Moon makes several favorable aspects. Your day should go relatively smoothly, and it’s an excellent day to take care of your responsibilities. However, be on guard this evening as the Moon conjoins Pluto, and intense emotions may surface.  Manage your emotional surges with some self-care.

Saturday, April 23, 2022

The Moon spends the day moving through Aquarius. It’s an excellent day to meet up with your inner circle and catch up. If you’ve been overwhelmed by worldly issues and concerns, spend some time today doing something you enjoy or exploring something new. If you need to share your opinions with others, today is a great day to do it.

Sunday, April 24, 2022

Mercury forms a difficult square to Saturn in Aquarius. You may find that you are dwelling on the problem areas of your life, and sometimes feel isolated and alone. It will be difficult to communicate with others, and you may feel misunderstood. Try to push away negative thoughts if they surface.

Astrology Horoscopes for the Week of May 10, 2021 – May 16, 2021

This week, the bulk of the astrology forecast occurs over a three-day window beginning on Tuesday and ending on Thursday.  The two biggest features are Jupiter moving out of Aquarius and into his sign of Pisces and a New Moon in Taurus, the sign of the bull.

Let’s start with the big kahuna, Jupiter in Pisces…

Astrology Hot Spots:

Jupiter in Pisces

This week Jupiter says goodbye (at least temporarily) to the sign of Aquarius and movies into Pisces until July 28th when he will return to the sign of the water bearer.

Pisces is the sign associated with collective dreams, but what does that even mean?

Well, we all have dreams and not just when we go to sleep.  We have visions of how we would like our lives to be. WE have dreams about a perfect world and a perfect society. Some of us even have dreams of a perfect cheesecake – mine is raspberry flavored.  But there are dreams that are bigger than individual dreams, they are the collective visions and aspirations of nations, groups, generations (current, previous, and those no longer with us), and even political parties. All dreams and collective visions are governed by the sign of Pisces.

Jupiter is the planet of expansion and when he dives into the deep waters of Pisces, those collective dreams of a perfect world will become a predominant theme over the next year.  Carl Jung (one of the pioneers of modern psychology) believed that everyone’s dreams and aspirations add to the whole, and it is this energy that is at the deepest core of Pisces, and the actions we take as individuals decide whether those dreams solidify into tangible realities. So, it’s a great time to focus on our higher aspirations, what we would like to see happen in our lives and in the world in the future.  According to the kabbalists, the most powerful force in the universe is unity (another lovely Piscean word) but to effectively create change, we all need to do our part to uplift and inspire a better tomorrow by beginning to dream — and DREAM BIG!

New Moon in Taurus

The New Moon this month lands in the sign of Taurus. Taurus is about prosperity, money, and self-worth. So, getting control over your finances, planting seeds for financial stability, and improving your self-image are constructive ways to work with this month’s New Moon, especially if you do intention or magical work

This month the New Moon makes only favorable aspects to Neptune and Pluto.  The Moon’s sextile to Neptune softens Taurus’s outer shell and provides opportunities to connect on a deeper level in relationships, and it allows you to become more sensitive to the emotional needs of others.  Whereas the trine to Pluto helps you stand in your own power and gives you the moxie to make changes that are necessary. Overall, this is a gentle New Moon, and it may be a bit of cosmic relief before eclipse season begins at the end of the month.

Sign by Sign Breakdown:

Aries

The New Moon falls in your solar second house highlighting your finances and personal resources. There may be a chance to improve your financial situation through new career opportunities. Conversations with friends may provide you with the support necessary to level up.

Taurus

Focusing on your personal ambitions may be key as the New Moon sets up shop in your solar first house. You may find help and assistance through your friends and associates who are more sensitive to your needs this week. However, put a watch on your tongue to avoid inadvertently annoying those around you.

Gemini

The New Moon lands in your twelfth house this week providing you with an opportunity to slowdown, smell the coffee, and take a step back. Career related matters may leave you feeling overwhelmed, at least temporarily. Financial issues or obligations that may have slipped your mind could resurface.

Cancer

You may want to take a break and get away from your duties and responsibilities.  The New Moon landing in your eleventh house provides you with an opportunity to spend time with friends and perhaps make new social connections.  Look to your relationships if you need encouragement and positive reinforcement.

Leo

The New Moon lands in your tenth house of career and public standing. Your allies and strategic partnerships will help you shine and prove to be a valued commodity moving forward. A blast from the past may throw you off your game, so keep your chess pieces close to the vest. Avoid throwing all your cards on the table.

Virgo

Focusing on big picture objectives is the name of the game with the New Moon landing in your solar ninth house. Although its easy for you to get caught up in the details, try to avoid doing so this week. You may receive surprising news from a friend or associate that you can use to your advantage.

Libra

Trying to stick to a structured routine this week may be difficult to manage. Your mind is focus on so many things that you may need a break to bring balance back into your life. Career issues may prove challenging because other people are not stepping up to the plate and you are beginning to feel the burden.

Scorpio

This week love and partnerships are highlighted with the New Moon touching down in your solar seventh house. Infuse your relationships with some extra spice and romance. If you are a single Scorpio, it’s time to attract Mister or Miss Right into your life. Put your apprehensions aside and go for it.

Sagittarius

Putting your day-to-day life in order may be a struggle, but with the New Moon in your solar sixth house, it’s a necessary evil.  Conversations with your partner may prove important and meaningful. A work-related surprise could spin your creative juices in a completely new and surprising direction.

Capricorn

Work-related matters may kick into high gear and you may shine bright like a diamond with the New Moon in your solar fifth house. It’s a great time to take a risk to achieve your goals. Any gut-level feelings or hunches you receive this week will likely pay off in the long run.

Aquarius

Taking a break from the real world and spending time with those that matter most is a major theme for you this week.  It’s time for you to recharge your batteries and have a little enjoyment that includes your friends and social circle. Home repairs or home improvements may be a focus with the New Moon landing in your solar fourth house.

Pisces

Communication with others will be an important feature of your week with the New Moon in your solar third house. Opportunities to connect with your siblings or close friends are likely. Your intuition will be in high gear and you should pay close attention to any feelings you have because they will prove useful in the future.

See you next week!

Cosmic Weather Forecast – April 15, 2019 – April 21, 2019

After the intensive energy from last week, this week will be a welcomed relief.

So, take a deep breath and just breathe and enjoy it.

The big news this week is that the Sun moves out of Aries and into earthy Taurus.  Astrologically speaking, we fly down from the heavenly world of potential and possibilities and land firmly on the earth and we enter the world of reality.

Taurus is about the here and now. The past is dead and cannot be influenced and the future is not important as long as everything remains unchanged and reliable.  In fact, during Taurus season, it’s productive to concentrate on the moment and focusing on what you can influence in the now. The sign of the bull ushers in a cycle of focusing on things you can personally grow, like your bank account, a flower garden, or your investments.  It’s also an auspicious time to set realistic goals that you can accomplish in a short period of time.

This year, the Taurean Sun lands in the 10th house of the world chart.  The 10th house is associated with our careers, but on a more mundane level, you could say the 10th house is about all the adjectives and labels in our lives, such as being a doctor, an astrologer, a parent, the head of the PTA, or a good person.  In the world chart, the Sun forms a conjunction to disruptive Uranus, so this Taurus season is about changing the labels we associate with that are no longer working and associating with something new that represents who we are now.  Taurus is very resistant to change, but the more you fight Uranus the more disruptive change can be.  Take a deep look at your associations over the next month and let go of the ones that no longer have value, which may require a leap of faith, but fosters productive growth of your most important commodity – yourself.

Now, on with the forecast…
