So, I am sure that you are going to get sick of hearing two words by the end of March – Mercury retrograde.

Of course, most people know what happens during Mercury’s retrograde status because it has seeped into pop-culture and has become part of our everyday vocabulary.   For those of you that are not aware, look at this list:

1. Potential communication issues
2. Do not sign documents, move, or make firm decisions
3. Electronics may become problematic, especially computers and cell phones.
4. Possible automobile issues.
5. Travel issues and concerns.

That is some list, isn’t it?  But don’t fret Mercury retrograde can be used as a positive tool and with Mercury making several aspects this week, it’s a great time to work with him rather than against him.

In mythology, Mercury played several roles, but the two most important were messenger of the gods and the psychopomp that ushered the souls of the dead into the underworld.  Psychologically, you could say that Mercury rules the process of the conscious mind, the process of the unconscious becoming conscious, and all the processes in between.

During this retrograde cycle pay close attention to your dreams, fantasies, and the areas where Mercury is causing chaos because it will hold the keys to the areas of your life where attention may be required.  Ultimately, by actively encouraging the unconscious to become conscious, Mercury retrograde may help you level up and begin a new cycle in your life.

Although Mercury naturally rules Wednesday, the Sun is the major player as he forms a sextile to Pluto and a square to Jupiter.

First up is Sun sextile Pluto.  This aspect gives you the ability to reform any area of your life that may be problematic.  If you have a problem that needs to be resolved, today you have the chance to clean it up while staying in your personal power. Then, Wednesday evening, the Sun squares Pluto, which despite the obstacles that come with a square, this aspect gives you a boost of energy that you can use to propel yourself to the next level. However, since Jupiter is expansive, try to avoid taking on more than you can handle, or you may easily burn out.

Once again, Thursday presents us with multiple astrological aspects as Mars in Taurus trines Saturn in Capricorn and the Sun conjoins Mercury retrograde in Pisces.

Mars trine Saturn augurs a time when you can really push yourself to get things done, even the most difficult of tasks.  This aspect is great for redefining your goals and going back to basics if necessary. So, despite any obstacles, keep pushing forward one step at a time.

Later, on Thursday, you may get insight into your life that may have been unknown to you as the Sun conjoins Mercury retrograde.  Sun conjunct Mercury is great for journaling and speaking your truth.  It’s also good for creative projects and intuitive work.

Mercury forms a square to Jupiter in Sagittarius, and despite the square, this aspect is rather fortunate.  You will have an optimistic attitude about the future.  This is a powerful time to re-examine your goals and set new ones.  However, while this aspect is active, your attention to details will be minimal.  So, stick with potentials and possibilities and leave more practical planning for another day.

The Weekend

We have two astrological aspects that occur over the weekend – Mercury in Pisces sextile Pluto in Capricorn and Mercury in Pisces sextiles Mars in Taurus.  These two aspects ultimately work together because Mercury activates the upcoming aspect of Mars trine Pluto.  Mercury sextile Pluto gives us the ability to get to the truth if we are willing to dig deep enough to get it.  Mars then turbo charges Mercury so you can take charge of your life and you will have the confidence to go after whatever you desire.
