Cosmic Weather Forecast – November 5, 2018 – November 11, 2018

So, the last several months we have been under a deluge of astrological aspects and extremely difficult cosmic weather, and I always find it interesting when real-world events mirror astrology, which was visible during Hurricane Michael, and the devastation that the cyclone left on the Florida panhandle.  This week we have only positive astrological aspects so that you can breathe a sigh of relief.

The biggest newsmaker of the week is Jupiter changing signs on Thursday when he moves out of Scorpio and into Sagittarius.  I won’t cover Jupiter in this blog post because I wrote an entire post about him, which you can read – Jupiter in Sagittarius: The Age of Hope and Optimism.  You will want to check this out because I reveal how each sign is affected by Jupiter moving into the sign of the archer.

But, before Jupiter moves into Sagittarius, we have a New Moon that occurs in Scorpio.  Scorpio is the sign of transformation, but it’s also the sign that governs our repressed unconscious that assists in creating our self-defeating behaviors. You can use this New Moon to let go of behavioral patterns that no longer work for you and heal the underlying issues.  If you are magically inclined, the New Moon in Scorpio is great for uncrossing, cut and clear, and healing trauma work.  For those less magically inclined, family of origin or shame work may be beneficial.  Regardless, Scorpio is about shedding your old skin and replacing it with a new you.

Now, on with the forecast…

Monday, November 5, 2018

The Moon moves through Libra and forms a square to Pluto.  Feelings you have held onto or have not acknowledged may surface during the afternoon hours, and despite your emotional urges, it’s best to avoid compulsive behaviors.  If you face any difficulties with others, the Moon trine to Mars will boost your confidence, and you will feel more assertive.  It’s best to show your leadership skills because they will benefit you in the eyes of others, potentially opening doors in the days to come.

Tuesday, November 6, 2018

It’s election day, so make sure you participate in your civic duty by voting. Regardless of your political beliefs, voting is the most fundamental way for you to speak up and let your voice be heard.

Astrologically, we have a couple of aspects to mention.  First, the Sun forms a lovely trine to Neptune, and your intuition will be off the charts.  But, Sun trine Neptune makes you thirsty for more out of life, and this is a great time for you to question whether your spiritual or physical needs are being met.  Secondly, Sun trine Neptune dovetails into Uranus returning to the sign of Aries.  One of the keys to Uranus in Aries is experiencing a sense of inner freedom, and one of the ways we quickly realize our freedom is directly proportional to whether we feel that our needs are met.  Uranus in Aries will give you the itch to let go of traditional structures that are no longer working for you and helps you embark on a new path.

Wednesday, November 7, 2018

It’s New Moon magic day.  The Moon joins the Sun at 11:02 AM on the east coast of the US.  This is an auspicious time for you to do magical or intention work with the New Moon.  Also, the Moon makes only positive aspects throughout the day, so matters that concern you should flow smoothly.

Thursday, November 8, 2018

The Moon continues its trek through emotional Scorpio and forms a rather volatile aspect to Mars during the morning hours.  You may feel a bit edgy and irritable but try to avoid doing anything rash or impulsive.

After the Moon squares Mars, it spends the rest of the morning void of course before it moves into Sagittarius.  Try to avoid signing documents or forming firm agreements until the afternoon hours, and any difficulties that occur during the morning hours will be resolved with the Moon conjoins Jupiter.

Friday, November 9, 2018

There is a powerful aspect between Venus retrograde and Mars during the late morning hours.  After spending several weeks retrograde, if you did the work, you will have acquired a lot of insight into your relationships.  As a result, you are concerned that your partner’s needs are met in the relationship, as well.  Since it’s Friday, spend some time with your partner and spice things up.  Maybe, dinner, a movie, and a little bit of something extra.

The Weekend:

Saturday is great for relaxing and having some fun.  All the aspects the Moon makes through Sagittarius are positive, and its final aspect to Uranus will shake things up.  Do something fun and exciting and make the most out the spectacular energy available.

On Sunday, the Sun forms a sextile to Pluto in Capricorn.  Sun-Pluto aspects give you the gumption to make changes that you need to make in your life.  This is a powerful time to clear up any personal messes you have made and set things straight.

See you next week…

Jupiter in Sagittarius – The Age of Hope and Optimism

Jupiter in Sagittarius

So, in February of 2007, then-Senator Barack Obama announced that he was running for President of the United States.  During his announcement speech, he uttered a phrase that would reverberate over the next eight years, “Yes, we can!”  Now, whether you agree with former President Obama’s politics or not, his phrases, his taglines, his demeanor, his promises, and his amazing oratory reflected the optimistic spirit of the times – Jupiter in Sagittarius.

Jupiter is one of the big guns in astrology.  Whereas Saturn transits through the heavens are often feared, Jupiter is not only welcomed but seen as “cosmic Santa Claus’ bequeathing his gifts. Jupiter gives us a bigger, better, and brighter glimpse of a potential future that if we are willing to believe enough, have certainty and hope, will ultimately happen.

One of the keywords associated with Jupiter is the curious word ‘luck’, and when Jupiter transits one of your natal planets, good stuff can happen, and usually does; however, according to the mystical Kabbalah, luck is not given simply because of happenstance, luck happens because you are intuitive enough to notice opportunities and turn them into reality.  In many ways, luck is our ability to leap from our secure porch of the now and have the certainty to leap into an unknown future.

Now, the reason I decided to write this blog post is Jupiter moves out of Scorpio and into Sagittarius on November 8th.

Jupiter in Scorpio took us into very deep murky waters, and during his transit, the #metoo movement was born.  Jupiter in Scorpio turns deep emotional events into religious experiences, and often out of those experiences’ movements are born with a focus on transforming areas of life that are beyond their sell-by date.  Another expression of Jupiter is his need to find meaning in life, and one of the ways that it has appeared through Scorpio is the need to be acknowledged for the suffering and abuse that has happened.

As Jupiter moves into Sagittarius, his theme is going to change dramatically.  Sagittarius is a fiery sign that reflects future potentials and possibilities and is a sign closely linked to religious and philosophical thought.  In many ways, Jupiter in Sagittarius is a double dose of Jupiter, because Jupiter rules the sign of the archer, and the need to find a ‘higher’ or ‘spiritual’ meaning to the vicissitudes of life is doubly potent.  Additionally, we may see laws (Sagittarius rules legal matters) created based on the movements created during Jupiter in Scorpio including legislation related to sexual abuse, workplace harassment, sexuality, and perhaps, racial issues.

I’m a firm believer in using the energy of an astrological placement instructively.  So, while Jupiter is in Sagittarius (November 8, 2018 – December 3, 2019), your focus will be on self-improvement.  Jupiter in Sagittarius will lead many of you on a spiritual or philosophical journey to make sense of the difficulties and struggles you have experienced.  Sometimes, if you can find a purpose for your suffering, your difficulties are easier to swallow, and recovery becomes possible.  You may find interest in different forms of metaphysical modalities, especially ones related to the mind and mental programming.  This will be a great time for intention-based work, as well as the use of affirmations or other self-affirming practices.   Also, since Sagittarius rules higher education, this would be an amazing time to return to school or consider some form of a vocational program.

Finally, you can expect some lovely slogans to emerge throughout 2019 as the nominating process for President of the United States begins, but the meaning of the language will remain the same: creating a life that is better than the one you have now, and as long as Jupiter is in Sagittarius, ‘Yes, you can’.

How Jupiter in Sagittarius Will Influence You?

(I recommend reading for both your sun sign and rising sign to get a complete picture of your upcoming Jupiter transit. To get a full picture, you may want to schedule a reading. If you do not know your rising sign (also known as the ascendant), you can easily get it from one of the free chart services on the web.)

Aries: This year, Jupiter begins his yearlong transit through your solar 9th house.  For you, this is a great position because this is the house Jupiter naturally rules.  Your desire to learn is important as Jupiter transits of this house are normally associated with higher education.  Your learning experiences will broaden your mind and your perspective, and things will change and mature.  This transit is associated with wisdom because your quest to learn will often give you deep insight into aspects of your life that you have either ignored or found trivial.  Often when this transit is active, a need to understand arcane sciences, religion or philosophy is typical because interest in esoteric and teleological subjects reflect the need to expand your worldview.  Finally, you will be interested in foreign cultures and may take vacations to foreign lands to broaden your experience.  The one thing to expect while Jupiter transits your 9th house is that your view of life will change and always for the better.

Taurus: This year, Jupiter begins its yearlong transit through your solar 8th house.  The 8th house is like the 11th and 12th houses, which all have a rather mysterious and confusing aura around them. Traditionally, Jupiter in the 8th is associated with death, inheritance, and taxes and I have seen these descriptions to be relatively true. Jupiter in the 8th can mean you will receive an inheritance or an unexpected tax refund.  But, what does this house mean?  After 25 years of doing astrology, I am convinced that the 8th house has to do with inheritance, but not just financially; it reflects our psychological inheritance, as well. While Jupiter is transiting through the 8th house, issues from the past that need healing will rise to the surface, and the healing of past familial trauma begins.  This can come from powerful changes or psychological wounds, but these changes will be to your ultimate benefit. On the more mundane level, this is a great time to begin a business partnership or apply for loans because Jupiter in the 8th house makes it easy for people to share their resources.

Gemini: Jupiter begins its yearlong transit through your solar 7th house.  The 7th house is associated with partnership, marriage, competitors, and legal matters.  Perhaps, it would be creative to define it as the ‘world out there’ or ‘not you’ house because it describes your relationship with people, in general.  When Jupiter transits through the 7th house, Jupiter can increase your relationships and expand your experiences of society by widening your sphere of influence. Jupiter, in this house, is great for business alliances in which your partnerships are mutually beneficial. Of course, Jupiter in the 7th will influence your love relationships by being a favorable influence. Any difficulties in relationships should be smoothed out or resolved during this cycle.  Finally, the 7th house also pertains to level matters. Any legal issues (especially civil cases) should resolve in your favor since Jupiter casts a protective shield over everything he influences.

Cancer:  Jupiter begins its yearlong transit through your solar 6th house.  The 6th house pertains to your job, day to day activities, your rituals, health, and your responsibilities.  Of course, this can be rather drab and far from exciting for the king of the gods, yet it is one of the houses we see the most benefit. Jupiter likes to expand your consciousness and provide a ‘higher’ meaning to the day to day grind of the 6th house, which on its deepest level refers to your house of personal growth. This is a great year for you to put your life in order and you will notice an improvement in your job, satisfaction with your responsibilities, and overall health.  Do not be surprised if you take on additional responsibilities because people will be pleased with your performance.

Further, Jupiter in the 6th could signify new job opportunities and promotions for a job well done. However, there is one warning with Jupiter in the 6th, Jupiter expands the house it transits, and since the 6th house represents your health and the physical world, there could be a tendency to gain weight.  It would be ideal to maintain a regular fitness regime and a balanced diet at this time.

Leo: Jupiter begins its yearlong transit through your solar 5th house. Over the next year, the focus is on personal growth and expansion of who you are as an individual.  You will begin to understand your life with great wisdom, and despite past frustrations, will perceive the big picture. Your creative juices will flow like never before, and if you are artistically inclined, financial gain is likely to occur through your craft.  Since the 5th house rules children, your relationship with your own (if you have them) will take center stage, and a deeper emotional bond will naturally occur.  Finally, your relationship with others around you will go through great improvement throughout the year.  As you tear down your walls and barriers and begin to express yourself with courage and tenacity, you will notice the important people around you are responding favorably.

Virgo:  Jupiter begins its yearlong transit through your solar 4th house.  The 4th house is mysterious because it rules your private parts – your innermost self, and governs your home, family, personal life, and your familial past.  While Jupiter is transiting your solar 4th house, you may find the need to seek inner peace and meaning.  In the outer world, this is a year to focus on real estate, whether that is purchasing a new home or doing repairs and renovations.  Further, you will find your relationship with your family enhanced, and Jupiter’s benefic influence will provide an opportunity to resolve old unresolved family issues and feuds. On the inner level, Jupiter moving through your 4th is a cycle of personal focus, and this is a natural time to withdraw from the outer world and its trappings to focus on creating a secure future.  If you do not have a secure inner world of peace and harmony, it is going to be difficult for you to find happiness in the outer world.

Libra: Jupiter begins its yearlong transit through your solar 3rd house of communication. In most textbooks, the third house governs communication, early education, and siblings. However, after working with charts for the past 25 years, I have come to understand the 3rd house as the place in the horoscope where we process our experiences.  I believe one of the most undervalued resources one can have is the experiences felt via events, circumstances, and people we have encountered that help formulate who we are as individuals.  While Jupiter is in the 3rd house, the ‘social butterfly’ will emerge, and the number of people in your social circle will expand. This transit provokes an enormous urge to learn and express yourself so that you can formulate your unique opinions about life. Further, because you need to experience more of the world to expand your consciousness, and interest in a vast number of subjects and learning about all of them, is likely. A mind is a terrible thing to waste, and with Jupiter transiting the 3rd, you are likely to find it working overtime.

Scorpio:  Jupiter begins its yearlong transit through your value-oriented 2nd house. In traditional astrology, the 2nd house governs money and resources, but in modern astrology, money and resources are symbols of what you value.  I have long believed that the most powerful book of revelation is your checkbook.  Your financial ledgers provide you with clear and concise information about what you truly value because it reveals where you spend your money, and ultimately what is important to you.  This is not to say Jupiter in the 2nd house will not expand your resources; it will.  It will expand everything that you give value – the good, the bad, and the ugly.  Since the 2nd house does involve financial resources, this is a great time for investments.  However, you must be careful with Jupiter in the 2nd house not to overindulge, overspend, or mismanage your money.  This placement can often lead to spending money that you may not have.  In the case of the 2nd house, too much of anything can be as difficult as not having enough.

Sagittarius:  This is your lucky year because Jupiter will transit through your personal-oriented 1st house.  Doors that closed and opportunities denied will open for you with minimal effort throughout the year.  The main thing for you to focus on is this being a major cycle for growth combined with an opportunity to express who you are by shining (and sharing) your inner light.  Further, you will notice people drawn to you like never before (or at least since 2007) and are more than willing to help you achieve success.  Use your increased self-confidence and charisma to your advantage.  Moreover, do not waste this year, Christmas in the astrological world only happens once every 12 years, and this year Santa delivers the presents to you.

Capricorn:   Jupiter begins its yearlong transit through your solar 12th house. Out of all the houses of the horoscope, the 12th house may be the most confusing. Traditional astrology has labeled it as the house of self-undoing, and its association with hospitals and prisons always raises an eyebrow or two.  In modern astrology, the 12th house reflects the patterns, drives, and compulsions that operate beneath the level of conscious awareness, but not in the personal sense, yet as the habits and dysfunctions passed down from generation to generation.  Jupiter in the 12th house can be a blessing or a curse.

On the one hand, this transit augurs a time when you begin (often for the first time) to see your inner truth.  Circumstances, situations, and events begin to have meaning, and you begin to acquire insight into your life.  On the other hand, Jupiter’s transit in the 12th represents where you begin to seek the truth, and the truth always lies within yourself.  If you do not have the inner courage or current capabilities to face your truth honestly, you may begin to see your truth through escapism – sex, drugs, alcohol, gambling, food, relationships, or other forms of reckless behavior. Simply put, Jupiter in the 12th house is a year for you to do inner work by accessing the real you and not being shackled to heredity and ideas from a past that may no longer be valid.

Aquarius: Jupiter begins its yearlong transit through your solar 11th house.  Traditional astrology has described the 11th house as clubs, friends, hopes and wishes, and similar to the 12th house, these descriptions are not very helpful.  In many ways, the 11th house reflects your need to be bigger than who you are and to strive towards improving your life. You will do this through becoming involved with individuals beyond your familial structure.  Your friends, associates, and like-minded individuals fulfill these requirements and assist you by providing networks to encourage your success.  Jupiter in the 11th reflects a cycle where your social circle can assist you in achieving your hopes and wishes for the future.  You will notice the need to change your world for the better with Jupiter transiting this social house. In most cases, the changes you make will also benefit those around you significantly, as you achieve your goals.  Finally, Jupiter is the planet of expansion, and you will notice your social circle and sphere of influence will expand over the next year.

Pisces:  Jupiter begins its yearlong transit through your solar 10th house.  In astrology, the 10th house describes your career and position in the world.  Jupiter transiting this house is considered favorable, improves and increases your reputation, and often prompts you to be all you can be.  During this cycle, you can take advantage of Jupiter’s benefic energy to advance your career, begin new businesses, or receive long-deserved recognition for your accomplishments.  If you have struggled to get to the next level, this year could be your breakthrough.  However, it is necessary to avoid being overbearing, dictatorial and keep your ego in check because problems could occur at the end of the transit if others perceive a haughty attitude. Finally, you can expect to see promotions at work, financial increase, and an inner self-confidence while Jupiter transits this house.

Cosmic Weather Forecast – October 29 – November 4, 2018

Cosmic Weather Forecast – October 29 – November 4, 2018

Sometimes to swim deep, you need to come up for air, and that is what happens this week.  The Sun remains in transformative Scorpio and Venus is still retrograde.

The biggest newsmaker this week is Mercury, which moves out of Scorpio and into heavenly Sagittarius.  Mercury, the communication planet, rules how you understand life, and in the sign of the archer, your attitude towards life is optimistic and philosophical with an eye towards future potentials and possibilities.  In simpler terms, Mercury is concerned with the ‘big picture’, and not day-to-day details, which allows you to strive towards creating a better future for yourself and the certainty to persevere long enough to make it happen.

In other news, Venus backs up into fair and balanced Libra creating a brand-new set of complications in relationships, but if you work through the issues, your relationships will be stronger than ever.

Finally, it’s Halloween week, and the veil between the spirit world is becoming increasingly thinner.  It’s an amazing week to connect to your spirits and your deceased ancestors but make sure you leave them some goodies because they love it when you show them proper respect.

Now, on with the forecast…

Monday, October 29, 2018:

As we head towards Halloween on Wednesday, Mercury conjoins Jupiter in Scorpio.  Mercury conjunct Jupiter is considered an extremely beneficial aspect.

First off, Jupiter is an intuitive planet, and this conjunction favors all forms of business activities.  If you need to release a product or start a new project, then do so because Mercury turns retrograde soon (Nov 16). Additionally, pay close attention to any business or career hunches you have because they will most likely be accurate.

Secondly, Mercury and Jupiter are both educational planets.  Mercury rules facts and details; whereas, Jupiter rules your ability to understand information and apply it to your life. While this aspect is active, it’s a great time to plan your future or set short-term goals. Make sure you take advantage of this aspect while it’s available because it only happens once a year.

Tuesday, October 30, 2018:

There are no planetary aspects today, but the Moon moves through family-oriented Cancer.  The early morning hours may be tense with the Moon opposed to Pluto, but the rest of the Moon’s trip through Cancer has only positive aspects to Jupiter in Mercury. So, if your day begins rocky, it will rapidly improve.  This evening is a great time to reach out and connect to family members.  Let them know you care with both your actions and words.

Wednesday, October 31, 2018:

Happy Halloween!  I hope that you get more treats than tricks this year but get prepared because Halloween is the most astrologically active day of the week.

First up, as I mentioned earlier, Mercury moves out of Scorpio and into Sagittarius, the sign he retrograde in on November 16th.  Throughout the next several weeks, Mercury’s focus is on the big picture, which allows you to see outside the box of day-to-day living.  Mercury in the sign of the archer is a great cycle to focus on goals and long-term strategies.  Mercury in Sagittarius usually has an optimistic view, which allows you to focus on giving birth to your potentials and possibilities.

Secondly, right before Venus retrogrades out of Scorpio and moves back into Libra, she will oppose Uranus.  Hard Venus/Uranus aspects are notorious for relationship problems, and this opposition will strongly influence the fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius). Breakups happen, and often outside interests suddenly enter the picture. You may find that you are unhappy in your relationships or are no longer satisfied, which can easily lead to frustrations and upsets. Since Venus is retrograde, you may see your frustrations easier than you normally would and can then make changes to add a little spice and adventure so that you can curb your dissatisfaction.  However, if you take no action, your need to be free may supersede your need to work things out.

Finally, Venus moves out of Scorpio and back into Libra, which may give some relief to the fixed signs, but puts the cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn) on notice.  Venus rules Libra, and when she is retrograde in her sign, the issues around Venus retrograde (see blog) are amplified; however, the theme has changed.

Venus in Libra is concerned with balance and fairness.  Relationships that are out of balance may begin to have difficulties, especially if you have made sacrifices to support your partner. Although Venus in Libra dislikes arguments and selfishness, there comes a time when you have to stand up for yourself, and this may create necessary conflicts.  Conflict is not always bad; it can often lead to an equitable balance in the relationship that honors your needs as well as your partners.

Thursday, November 1, 2018:

Got wounds? Newsflash – we all do!  However, this week (and year), you get a window of opportunity to heal and release them as Jupiter forms a trine to Chiron.  Since Chiron is in Pisces and Jupiter is in Scorpio, this is a beneficial period for you to seek understanding into the areas of your life that may be wounded because Jupiter helps you understand your wounds on a deeper level, which is often the key to healing them.  You may want to consider workshops, spiritual practices, or therapy to help you peel your scabs off, but freedom from the past will help you create a better future. This aspect remains active until early December, which means you should pay close attention to any issues that creep up during the holiday cycle because these are the wounds that most likely needs healing.

Friday, November 2, 2018:

There are only lunar aspects on Friday, which is a relief from the deluge of aspects this week.  On Friday, The Moon moves into Virgo, and you will need to put your life in order because the worst thing for you right now would be tons of chaos. It’s a great day to figure out your holiday plans, including gifts that you may want to buy this year.  Virgo loves processes, so any that you can create to make your life easier would be beneficial.

The Weekend:

On Saturday, the Moon continues to move through Virgo, so finish up lingering tasks should be at the top of your priority list.  During the evening hours, the Moon forms a lovely sextile to Jupiter.  So, after finishing that list of chores that you need to complete, spend the evening relaxing with your friends or social circle.  Everyone, including you, needs a break once in a while.

Just a heads up, make sure you turn your clocks back an hour (if your state observes DST) because Daylight Savings Time comes to an end this weekend.

Sunday may be more difficult than Friday or Saturday.  The Moon moves into Libra and forms a tough square to Saturn, which often makes you feel off-center or discombobulated, which ultimately leads to self-doubt.  Proceed through the morning hours with caution and leave activities until the afternoon when the Moon is more favorably aspected.

See you next week…

Trick or Treat Divination

Trick or Treat Divination (Top 5 Creepiest Halloween Candy Remixed)

I just love Halloween! Out of all the holidays, this one is especially meaningful to psychics because our connection to the “other” world is heightened. On Samhain, a veil is pierced that allows the spirits from the other side to whisper into our ears if you listen closely. Also, it is a time for spooks, ghouls, ghosts, goblins, and just good old fashioned “trick or treating”.

A Bit of History:
Although the tradition of guising and wearing seasonal costumes stretch back to the Middle Ages, the first appearance of “trick or treating” (warning of the homeowner/resident of a trick if a treat is not given) began in 1911 in Kingston, Ontario. Eventually, the practice spread to other parts of Canada and ultimately made its first American appearance in Chicago in 1920. By the 1930’s, the practice of trick or treating became a widespread practice in the United States, and eventually permeated the media in 1939.

In the 21st century, Halloween and “Trick or Treating” remains popular, and each year more events occur to celebrate the magical Eve. Over the years, candy and other assorted edible goodies have been created specifically to cater halloweento children who dress up in costumes and visit neighborhood doors to collect their loot. Inside bags across North America, assorted chocolates, lollipops, candy corn, and the occasional piece of fruit are enjoyed by many young and old. However, in certain cases “the trick” might be played on those individuals who are ‘souling’ (the medieval practice of the poor going door to door on Hallowmas receiving food in return for prayers for the dead) when they receive unusual treats.

The Fun Begins:

Ashton Kutcher recently tweeted a link to a fun posting from a Houston food blog. The site had posted candy images that were freaky, creepy and hysterically hilarious. The following includes psychic commentary that can be used for divination purposes using these images.

(Disclaimer: These comments are for fun and are meant in the spirit of the Halloween holiday season, and not for applied use. Any events or circumstances that may occur in your life as a result of performing this Halloween reading are merely coincidental – or maybe you have pierced that veil yourself and have tapped into your own future.):

Trick or Treat Divination

Materials Needed: A bag of candy received on Halloween.
Instructions: Divide out all your candy and see what you have received. You might want to place them in separate categories so that you can make sure you do not miss any of the tricks from the spirits, which have special meanings.

Ask your bag of candy a question. Any question. Do you wish to know about your love life, career, or finances? Any questions that you would normally ask a psychic. Write your question down on a piece of paper.

No Noted Anomalies:

halloween candyIf you receive a bag of candy that has no anomalies, this means that the spirits are at peace with you. This year they plan to bless you with the abundance of certainty and prosperity. You will find your life to be very sweet and depending on the amount of candy in your bag – very rich! However, too much involvement in matters of the physical could lead to an upset stomach – especially if you overindulge in the chocolate tasting candies! On the divinatory level, receiving tons of chocolate means that lots of hot romantic activity will occur in your future, but if your bag is filled with more hard candy objects the next year will be focused on refining your personal matters such as business and career.
Spooky Nerds:

candy1If you receive a box or boxes of Spooky Nerds in your bag, then the spirits have provided you with a special blessing this year. Spooky Nerds are a powerful love symbol. You may find an interesting individual – possibly with taped glasses and a pocket protector in your future. If this person enters your life, take a second notice! Let me give you the progression. Nerdy guy leads to high SAT scores. High SAT Scores leads to MIT. MIT leads to Computer Programming Job. Computer Programming Job leads to being the CEO of a High-End Software business like Microsoft. Never judge anything by its outer shell, on the inside you might have just found your gold mine. On a divinatory level, receiving a box of Spooky Nerds means that love — although in an unusual package – may enter into your life. If you are currently in a relationship, the message from the spirits is to dress your boyfriend/husband up in more nerdy ways – it just might rub off!

Gummy Body Parts Candy:

candy2If you receive a package of Gummy Body Parts in your bag, the spirits are giving you a direct warning. You should proceed with caution, as an unusual individual in your neighborhood is thinking about you. Depending on what body part you receive will reveal what he/she is thinking about. Although this may creep you out knowing that others are thinking about you, it might not be all that bad. It might be that he/she is admiring certain parts of your anatomy – brains, fingers, lips, limbs or teeth. On a divinatory level, Gummy Body Parts are a sign from the spirits for you to horde what you have. Keep everything close to you, because someone may be after it – especially if you receive the Hannibal Lector Gummy Body Parts edition! Now, how about some fava beans and a nice Chianti?

Zit Poppers:

candy3Oh, Zits! Remember them? They were those awkward red things on your face when you were a teenager, usually the result of eating too much candy or greasy foods. In other words, creations of God so that teenagers could not enjoy life! If you think about it, they are natures abstinence program for many, so we should not view them as all bad. Receiving a package of Zit Poppers in your Halloween bag though is a very good thing! It reflects that new things are on the horizon for you. This could be either in love, career, or money. Since zits are a reflection of an early stage of life development before a situation comes into full adult form, you should embrace your zit poppers candy and cherish and nurture it further. On a divinatory level, Zit Poppers reflect the birth of something new, something coming to fruition in your life, and even the possibility of pregnancy. However, if you are under the age of 21, that will not come for at least 6 to 7 years or the spirits will be quite angry! Never tick a spirit off, remember Whoopi Goldberg from Ghosts? They might come to your house and sing songs all night – annoying the heck out of you.

Box of Boogers:

candy4I know this is completely revolting. If you get this candy immediately check under your tables, desks, and chairs – anywhere occupied by young kids – and see if any crusty objects exist. If you do find some objects then you are blessed for years to come. Boogers are great when you receive them. They represent changes and negative circumstances from your life fading. Although difficulties from the past may still be apparent if you receive this candy, the spirits will make sure that your problems fade and evaporate as long as you pick them one at a time. On the divinatory level, receiving a box of boogers means that your problems and situations are trapped in a box. If you take this box and immediately get rid of it, you will find your problems quickly evaporating from your life. However, if you choose to eat these boogers, then I can snot be responsible for any problems that may occur. You have been warned!
Scab A Roni:

candy5For some reason, when I was analyzing this package, dreams, and visions of San Francisco — Oh, wait – that’s Rice A Roni! On the candy label, I noticed that there were 16 scabs that were available. 16 in many cultures, numerologically, and even in the Tarot reflect the tearing down of existing structures and something new is replaced. This could be ideas, belief systems that you have held onto, and even circumstances in your life that come in the form of disruption, yet give way to something good or better. In the Tarot, this is the Tower Card, and if you notice on the packaging it looks like 3 towers of scabby candy. On a divinatory level, when you receive Scab A Roni this means that circumstances that you have held onto well past their sell-by date will come crumbling down. You might even pick them off yourself, by looking at the areas of your life that you need to change. Remember, scabs are made of coagulated blood which is our most powerful life force. Once your scabs are torn off, new opportunities will come about that are much more beneficial to you.

Conclusion:
These are just the known creepy candy that I could find! I am sure that there are some unknown and some yet created or discovered. If you have others that you would like me to analyze and tell you what they mean psychically, just send me the images and I will be more than glad to find out what they mean and how to apply those candies into your life. All comments are appreciated.

Happy Halloween!

Cosmic Weather Forecast – October 22 – October 28, 2018

Get ready to dig deep this week because the Sun will move out of fair and balanced Libra and dives into the emotional and often turbulent waters of Scorpio.

Scorpio is one of the most misunderstood signs of the zodiac.  The sign of the scorpion governs the areas of life that many people would prefer not to discuss like personal desires, unconscious complexes, and oh, you guessed it, SEX. During Scorpio season, it’s a good idea to take a deep look at your desires, and whether or not you are receiving just a little of what you would like out of life?  Are your sexual needs being met?  Is self-sabotage an issue?

Scorpio season is the cyclical time of the year for you to work on becoming the best you, so that you can live your best life.  However, facing the issues lurking deep within the swampy waters of Scorpio is never easy, but the benefits we get from coming to terms with our personal ghosts and demons are worth it.

This week the Full Moon occurs in the sign of Taurus.  The Full Moon is the time of the month to begin to get rid of anything that hinders or drags us down based on the sign the Full Moon is in.  Taurus rules money, so this is an ideal cycle to get your personal finances in order, analyze your investments, or create a plan to resolve lingering debt.  Since Venus, the ruler of Taurus is retrograde, glaring problems could surface, but the good news is that they can effectively be resolved if you are willing to put forth the effort.

Now, let’s dig into this week….

Monday, October 22, 2018

Remember that digging deep stuff I mentioned earlier?  Well, the cosmos has a sense of humor because the day before Scorpio season officially begins, Mercury forms a sextile to Pluto.

Mercury sextile Pluto is great energy for us to recognize the areas of our lives that need to be resolved or problems that have eluded us in the past will suddenly be solved.  This aspect is all about digging up the truth and forces us to quit lying to ourselves about areas of our lives that may not be functioning properly, and although you may have stayed in denial on purpose, there will be an internal urge for you to break free.  Also, you may be called upon to speak your truth to help someone else in need.  Your wisdom and experience may be necessary to help them move to the next level.

Tuesday, October 23, 2018

The Sun moves into Scorpio and immediately slams head first into Uranus.  Expect the unexpected out of your relationships because oppositions involving Uranus tend cause the unexpected to occur.  However, the larger purpose of this aspect is to make you aware of things you may not normally consider.  This can lead to enormous insight into yourself and others, and often this insight can happen suddenly, which is how Uranus likes to operate.  A good old dash of shock and awe.

Wednesday, October 24, 2018

Sextiles provide us with opportunities, and perhaps more so with Venus being retrograde. On Wednesday, Venus forms a lovely sextile to dutiful Saturn and our relationship obligations in romantic and business partnerships will step on stage.  Venus sextile Saturn is great for sorting through your relationships, taking care of your responsibilities in them, and coming to terms with your expectations.  Venus sextile Saturn makes it easy for us to forge alliances and agreements by getting everything out in the open, so if you want to confront anything, this is the last opportunity to do so until April.

The Full Moon in Taurus occurs at 12:45 PM EST.  Full Moons are great for doing magic and intention work, and with this Full Moon occurring in Taurus, financial magic is recommended.

Thursday, October 25, 2018

There are no planetary aspects on Thursday, but the Moon continues to move through earthy Taurus.  If you have creative projects to work on, the day time hours will be perfect while the Moon sextiles Neptune.  However, expect tensions to rise Thursday evening when the Moon tangles with aggressive Mars.  Although you will need to remain proactive, standing in your personal power is necessary.

Friday, October 26, 2018

On Friday, the Sun forms a lovely conjunction to Venus.  This aspect is great for socializing and enjoying yourself.  So, get on your dancing shoes and go out and have some fun.  If you are single, Sun conjunct Venus is great energy to meet someone new but remember to take it slowly until after the first of the year when Venus and Mercury are both direct and out of shadow.

The Weekend

This weekend, the Moon moves through mercurial Gemini, which may make it difficult to focus on one thing at a time, especially for those getting ready for Halloween or attending Halloween celebrations.  The energy will be favorable for socializing, so problems will be minimal for most of you.

If you have business matters to attend to, there is a favorable aspect between the Sun and Saturn.  This weekend is great for tying up loose ends, so if you have projects that need to be finished, this weekend is great energy to get this done.

See you next week….

Cosmic Weather Forecast – October 15 – 21, 2018

Are you ready for some cosmic insight into your relationships?  If so, you have come to the right place.

Our big newsmaker this week continues to be Venus retrograde.  If you didn’t read my extensive article on the latest shenanigans of the love goddess, then you should check it out:  Surviving Venus Retrograde.  This week relationships continue to be in the crosshairs.  However, we get a cosmic assist from Mercury at the beginning of the week.

Now, let’s dive in…

This week, the Moon travels through the final three signs of the zodiac – Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces. Our focus will shift from our personal relationships to our relationships with the rest of the world.  So, do not be surprised if you get inundated with political ads and robocalls; after all, ‘tis the season.

Monday:

Remember that cosmic assist that we will get from the universe? Well, it happens on Monday when Mercury conjoins Venus retrograde.  The planet Mercury symbolized how we understand life and when he conjoins Venus retrograde, we begin to understand the mechanics of our relationships on a deeper level.  Practically speaking, the areas of our relationships that are problematic will become clear, giving us the opportunity to make changes where necessary.

There are a couple of features of Mercury conjunct Venus that are important.  First off, this aspect gives us the ability to express our emotions easier, and for those that have problems doing this, it can be a game changer in your relationship.  Keep in mind, it will be easier for your partner, as well.  Secondly, Mercury conjunct Venus allows us to understand our partners better. Often, seeing life through the eyes of another helps us to improve our relationships because we are empathetic and willing to validate our partners experience.

Since Venus rules money and Mercury rules commerce and our day-to-day life activities, we can see our business activities and professional life clearly.  You may discover personal dissatisfaction with your finances or career and can begin to formulate a plan to make things better.  Avoid making significant changes until after the New Year because Mercury retrograde happens the day Venus turns direct (Nov 16).

Tuesday:

The Moon continues to move through Capricorn and forms troubling aspects to both the Sun and Pluto.  Power struggles could occur with people you work with and you may feel like someone is trying to diminish your light.  However, any conflicts that may occur will be resolved favorably because the Moon’s last aspect is a beneficial sextile to Jupiter.

Wednesday:

The Moon moves into social Aquarius.  This energy is great for networking and socializing with friends and associates.  You will find it necessary to connect with kindred spirits that share similar ideals.  The Moon forms difficult aspect to Venus on Wednesday evening, but any insecure feelings that occur will be fleeting.

Thursday:

Minor snafus may occur during the early morning hours, and you need to be very clear with your communications to prevent problems that may potentially occur, but overall the day should be energetic and rather positive. This is a great day to get things done.

Friday:

There is a split in the cosmic energy on Friday.  Mercury will trine Neptune during the morning hours.  This is great energy for creative work because Neptune dissolves blocks to the imaginal and spiritual realms. Additionally, Mercury trine Neptune makes us very sensitive to the moods of others, which on one hand makes us more sympathetic and charitable, but on the other hand, leads to unintentional conflicts.

This leads us straight into Mercury square Mars.  Although we may have good intentions towards others with Mercury trine Neptune, they may not be receptive.  In fact, with Mercury square Mars they may be hostile, which can lead to sharp words and potentially explosive arguments, especially if you begin to defend yourself.  If tensions arise today, it is best to walk away.  The good news is that Mercury moves quickly allowing tempers to simmer.

The Weekend:

This weekend the Moon moves through sensitive Pisces.  The good news is that she only makes positive aspects.  You may be called upon to help someone in need because the natural energy of Pisces is to make us sensitive to people around us, like Mercury trine Neptune.  The difference is that people will be more receptive to our help and assistance because Mercury square Mars will be less of a hinderance.

Otherwise, the weekend is a great time to enjoy yourself.  Perhaps, a nice dinner or a movie may be in order.

See you next week with the Full Moon in Taurus…

Cosmic Weather Forecast – October 8, 2018 – October 14, 2018

In last week’s forecast, the big news of the week was Venus turning retrograde on Friday (10/5). Now, this week is filled with aspects that are challenging.  So, let’s be prepared and make the most of it.

Although Mercury makes the most aspects this week, including a sign change, Venus and Mars are major players.  However, Saturn in Capricorn is the week’s featured planet and his presence hovers over the entire week.

Saturn in Capricorn is about tradition – for better or for worse.  We are born into a family system with traditions and customs that are innate because of our heredity.  In some case, these traditions are our ‘go to mode’ when things get difficult or stressful, but in other cases these traditions could lead to dysfunctional behaviors that ultimately do not serve us well.

This week is no exception, so let’s dive in…

Monday – Tuesday:

We begin the week with the Moon in relationship-oriented Libra and the energy builds up to the New Moon that occurs on Tuesday. New Moons are about new beginnings and this week we are urged to do intention (magical) work around our relationships to make them more meaningful, and with Venus ruling the New Moon, we should begin to see the areas of our relationships that need improvement.  Then, we can begin to step forward building on solid ground.

The general energy of Monday and Tuesday is rather mixed. On Monday, the Moon forms a lovely trine to Mars in social Aquarius. This energy is great for networking, especially with career or business connections.  However, Tuesday is complicated with the Moon squaring Pluto. Power struggles may surface and may take over your day. Try to avoid reacting to others, but always stand your ground when necessary.

On a more positive note for Tuesday, Mercury moves into mysterious Scorpio.  Mercury in Scorpio gives us the ability to see things that we normally miss – including the hidden motivations of others or ourselves. Mercury in the sign of the scorpion provides us with a deeper understanding of our circumstances that will come handy this week.

Wednesday:

Wednesday presents us with a couple of troubling aspects: Mercury oppose Uranus and Venus square Mars.

Let’s begin with Mercury oppose Uranus.  This aspect is very mental, and our thoughts will be fast and furious with new ideas that may or may not be viable.  It may be necessary to test out anything before you apply it fully to your life. Mercury in opposition to Uranus causes us to be highly reactive and we say whatever is on our mind, which could lead to difficulties.

Mercury/Uranus bluntness dovetails into Venus square Mars. If you are in a relationship that has problems, this aspect can lead to arguments that could have difficult consequences, and even solid relationships could have a love spat or two. The best way to deal with his conflicting energy is to try to be considerate of your partners personal needs while acknowledging your own because one of the problems inherent in this aspect is feeling like you are sacrificing yourself for others, and your personal desires not being acknowledged. Use Wednesday to figure out your needs and don’t be afraid to express them.  Learning to compromise but getting some of what you want is necessary with Venus square Mars.

Thursday:

The general energy of Thursday is favorable. During the morning hours, you will have an opportunity to deal with intense feelings you may have repressed or ignored. Acknowledging these feelings could improve relationships because you will feel empowered to make beneficial changes.  On Thursday evening, the Moon will conjoin Jupiter and it’s a great time to do something fun and enjoyable.

Friday:

On Friday, the Sun in Libra will square Pluto in Capricorn and you may feel the need to make radical changes in your life by eliminating everything that may not be working for you.  A good place to start is the areas of your life where you feel out of control, and perhaps, overpowered. Nobody likes to feel that others have the upper hand, and you will be no different.  Once you let go of everything that no longer works in your life, progress will begin to occur, and positive changes will ultimately happen.

Now the good news on Friday is that you will receive a cosmic assist from Mercury forming a lovely sextile to Saturn. As I said earlier, Mercury in Scorpio lets you dig deep, so the areas of your life that need to be changed will be easily discovered and Saturn will help you deal with them in a manageable way by helping you create a feasible plan. Otherwise, Friday is a great day to finish up lingering tasks or responsibilities.

The Weekend:

Get your party hats out because the Moon will be in jovial Sagittarius.  It’s a great weekend to spend doing all the wonderful autumnal activities and festivals with family and friends.  You can spend the visit the Halloween festivals, hang out with friends and family, or do something spontaneous and exciting, but most importantly, have some fun.

But, don’t forget to drink some apple cider for me.

Enjoy!

See you next week…

Cosmic Weather Forecast October 1 – October 7, 2018

Cosmic Weather Forecast October 1 – October 7, 2018

I have some good news and some bad news.

The good news is that there are very few astrological aspects this week, which is a needed break from the aspect after aspect pattern of the last several months. For many, the energy has been constantly changing and has given them a bad case of psychic whiplash. So, this is some needed relief.

The bad news – the only major astrological aspect of the week is Mercury square Pluto, and the only planetary change is Venus retrograding in the sign of Scorpio.  Now, I’ve already covered Venus retrograde in her own blog post, so scoot over there to read about how Venus retrograde works and how it affects the signs.

Now on with the forecast…

Lunar Activity:

The Moon begins the week in mercurial Gemini and forms a difficult square to Chiron.  Festering wounds (Chiron) may come to the surface and it may take the week to process your feelings.  Chironic wounds can be difficult because usually they are nobodies’ fault, but just a result of life’s unfairness.  And, wounds can be agitating if there is nobody to directly blame.  If these types of wounds come up, be kind and patient to yourself throughout the week.

Monday – Wednesday:

The Moon moves into Cancer during the early afternoon hours and our moods will be more emotional than normal. The basic energy of Cancer is about family and our connections to people we deeply care about, so issues around family are sure to surface.  Although emotions during the Cancerian Moon will be intense, they will work out favorably once the Moon moves out of the sign of the crab.

Wednesday – Friday:

On Wednesday evening, the Moon moves out of Cancer and into self-focused Leo.  The Moon in Leo is great to focus on your personal needs.  Take some time to do something to pamper yourself and have some personal time to just relax and enjoy.  Shut out all the noise and do you, boo.

The Weekend:

This weekend, the Moon will move into productive Virgo.  Virgo is great for yard work, household chores, minor repairs, and getting stuff done. Any tasks that have lingered waiting for a good time to be completed, should be tackled now.  Finish things up and you can spend the rest of the weekends this month on other things.  Hint: Next weekend the Moon is in Sagittarius and would be a great time to do all those fun autumnal activities.

Tuesday, October 2, 2018
Mercury square Pluto:

In astrology, squares present us with obstacles and this week Mercury, the planet of communication will square powermonger Pluto. A word of warning for the cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Aquarius), you may experience these obstacles more profoundly than the other signs. However, every obstacle or square aspect for that matter, can be used to change and transform your life for the better.   Mercury square Saturn is no exception.

This week there is a tendency to fixate on areas of your life (or people) that bother you.  You may feel the need to explain yourself to others to the point that you are trying to convince or sway them to your side. This can lead to arguments and conflicts that may take some time to repair.  Before you engage in any intense conversations with others, make sure it is something you truly believe in.  Otherwise, you may create trouble for yourself that is not necessary.

The useful angle to Mercury square Pluto is its investigative qualities, which if turned inward can provide amazing insight into your motivations, especially in relationships with others because Mercury is ruled by Venus, the planetary ruler of relationships. Inner awareness is the key to working with Mercury square Pluto.

That’s it for this week.  Remember to check out my blog on Venus retrograde for some insight on how she will influence you and be sure to follow me on Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram for daily astrological insights.

Astrological Forecast for October 2018

october

Your Astrological Forecast for October 2018.

Can you smell it?

The leaves are changing colors; jack-o-lanterns and spooky scenes fill the streets. A cool breeze is in the air, and the unpredictable cosmic weather of the summer is over.

It’s official.  October is here!

I mean the summer was a whirlwind of eclipses, retrograde planets, intensive planetary aspects and one of the hottest summer seasons on record, and with that, you have a recipe for unpleasantness.  So, we can now sit down and sip our pumpkin spice lattes and devour decadent apple cider donuts and breathe a sigh of relief.

Well, not so fast…

October has its own set of curious cosmic energies!

First off, Venus goes retrograde in Scorpio, the sign of her detriment.  Venus has to do with relationships and money.  So, while Venus is retrograde, she will test our relationships and finances.  While in the sign of the Scorpion, the dirty secrets in our relationships that we would rather keep hidden, will come to the surface and be exposed to the light of day.  Shaky relationships will go through the wringer, and many may end or become irreparably damaged.

Additionally, financial matters, universally and personally, may be troubling, and this would include stocks, bonds, savings, and loans.  Venus continues to be tied up in a difficult configuration with Mars and Uranus, which will shake things up and nothing will be consistent.  Keep an eye on the financial news because changes could happen quickly.

Mercury is the most aspected planet in October, and on the 9th he leaves balanced Libra and joins Venus and Jupiter in Scorpio.  Mercury in Scorpio gives us the ability to dive deep, and we can resolve problems that may have been difficult to resolve previously.  Mercury, in this secretive sign, is like a private investigator, and he keeps seeking information until he gets to the root of the matter.  Mercury conjoins Venus retrograde on the 15th, which will give insight into difficulties within relationships.

The other big cosmic newsmaker of October is the new and full moons that occur in Libra and Taurus.  Libra and Taurus are both ruled by Venus retrograde.  Generally speaking, the New Moon in Libra is useful to infuse relationships with new energy and the Full Moon in Taurus lets us do intention work around financial debt.  So, make the most of these cosmic magical moments.

Now, on with your monthly forecasts:

Aries:  Everything this month circles back to your career and your position in the world.  Your reputation matters and this month it’s going to come full circle. You may need to repair any friendships or relationships that have been broken to clean up your side of the street and clear the slate.  Venus goes retrograde in your solar 8th house, and past relationship secrets may come flying out of your closet forcing you to re-examine your motives and your agenda.

Career: Your career may move slower than you would like, but there are plenty of opportunities for you to shine.  Do not overlook the importance of your network because they may prove important around mid-month.

Love:  The Sun is moving through your solar 7th house for most of the month and brings emphasis to your relationships. Beware of power-plays around the 12th of the month when the Sun tangles with Pluto. Relationships are about balance and harmony, give and take, not a scene from the ’50 shades of kra-kra’.

Money:  The Full Moon occurs in your solar 2nd house conjoined to disruptive Uranus.  Financial issues may surface around the end of the month that is unexpected, and Venus retrograde in your house of debt could make matters worse.  Make sure you have a firm handle on your fiscal perspective – some discipline may be necessary.

Taurus:

This month focuses on two main themes – organizing your day to day life and your relationships. The Sun spends most of the month in your solar 6th house and will shine light on your habits and day-to-day living.  You will be forced to look at how your schedule works for you or whether it needs to be more accommodating to the ‘other’ people in your life.  Your planetary ruler, Venus, goes retrograde on the 7th and relationship issues may surface. Try to work with them proactively rather than reactively by being stubborn and inflexible.  The Full Moon on the 24th gives you an opportunity to let go of behavioral patterns that are no longer useful, and with the Full Moon conjoined to Uranus, some of them may surprise you.

Career:  There is a ton of energy in your career sector, and you should take advantage of it.  Focus on big-picture issues rather than the small stuff. The New Moon on the 8th could present new opportunities that you should take advantage of, even if it requires letting some things go.

Love:  Relationship questions will emerge this month as Venus goes retrograde. You may need to look at whether your relationships are thriving or just existing. Be careful of arguments mid-month because you may not be able to recover from them.

Money:  Finances should be decent even though Mercury (your money ruler) is rather hyper this month. October 12th is a great day to solidify any business plans and is great for making purchases.  Towards the end of the month, there is an opportunity for you to make a bit of extra cash.  And, who doesn’t like a bit of that?

Gemini:

It’s going to be an active month with your planetary ruler bouncing from planet to planet, but you will enjoy the action and won’t feel tied down to a day-to-day humdrum existence. However, the Full Moon in the 12th may force you to confront past emotional issues that may be holding you back and continuing to stuff them in the closet will not be an option. The rest of the month will focus on your creative juices flowing and flowing and flowing. October is your month to begin big projects that not only stimulate your mind but may prove to be profitable. Pay close attention to the end of the month when your ruler Mercury buddies up to Jupiter because you will have an opportunity to shine bright like a diamond. Okay, now I won’t be able to get Rihanna out of my head for days.

Career: Jupiter is finishing up his year-long tour through your work-oriented 6th house. It may be time for you to make the leap from a job/career that is stagnant and find something more stimulating or perhaps plan a business of your own.  The middle of the month’s cosmic energies may stir up your angst, which forces you to the next level. Expect positive news (and opportunities) towards the end of the month that may change everything.

Love: Your love planet (also Jupiter) is moving through your solar 6th house along with Venus retrograde. It’s time for you to look at how you function in relationships on a day-to-day basis and your relationship habits may surface towards the middle of the month.  Although October is not a great month for new relationships, the New Moon in your romantic 5th house could spawn some interesting action.

Money:  Your money ruler begins the month in your solar first house. And, although you may not be 100% happy with your finances, they should be stable. You may need to make some minor tweaks to your financial spending, but it is ok if you want to splurge on some bling-bling.  Towards the middle of the month, new money may make its way into your checkbook, which will keep your mind flowing.

Cancer:

As the Sun scoots into your security-oriented fourth house, do not be surprised if you have the urge to nest. After all, there is nothing that apple cider with cinnamon can’t cure. But, seriously, the home and hearth are what matter to you now, and since the New Moon occurs in your solar 4th house, purchasing real estate is something you could consider.  However, be careful to stay within your budget range with Venus going retrograde in your 5th house of gambling. The Full Moon lands in your 11th house on the 24th, and it’s tied to Uranus.  October is a great time to focus on friendships and your network because they may bring some much-needed excitement into your life.

Career:  Tensions may be high this month with your career ruler Mars in your solar 8th house. This martial planet often makes you feel a bit controlled and stifled – especially towards the middle of the month when Mars tangles with Venus retrograde and your creativity feels thwarted by others. To avoid these frustrations, you may want to keep a low profile and shine under more favorable energies.

Love: The most important thing for you this month is finding security and safety in your relationships. Your love life might move forward slowly, but slow and steady will ultimately win the race.  If you are currently single, it’s time to figure out what you want and need out of your relationships because the end of the month is favorable for solid romantic encounters, but do not begin anything official until after Venus goes direct in November.

Money: Your financial ruler this month is in your solar 4th house.  You may have unexpected house expenses and repairs around the 12th.  However, the end of the month your finances lighten up, and your overall picture will improve. If someone owes you money, you may receive payment before Halloween.

Leo:

October is all about thoughts and ideas that stimulate you intellectually and creatively. You may find yourself attracted to like-minded individual to share opinions, information, and beliefs that inspire you internally. This dovetails into the middle of the month when the Sun tangles with Pluto. Old habits that you have held onto, well past there sell by date, may need to be torn down and replaced with new ones that are more viable.  Finally, the Full Moon at the end of the month lands in your career-oriented 10th house, which could bring forth sudden changes.

Career:  October is not the best month on the career front. Unfortunately, Venus is retrograde in your security-oriented 4th house, and your career may not feel like such a safe place. Altercations with others may force you to question your position and whether you should seek something new.  New opportunities could present themselves towards the end of the month when the Sun and Venus meet up in Scorpio.

Love: Your love life is sure to heat up this month with sexy Mars moving through your 7th house.  Mars in Aquarius likes to change things up and bring in some spontaneity to add just a little bit of extra spice.  However, arguments towards the middle of the month (Mars likes to fight) are handled best with some emotional regulation and proactive behavior.  However, if all else fails, at least the sex will be good.

Money: Your money ruler, Mercury, moves through your 3rd and 4th houses this month.  The beginning of the month may push you towards discovering new ways to make money.  Once Mercury moves into Scorpio (October 9th), you may have the urge to spend some money on home improvements or items to spruce up on your home.  Everyone deserves a bit of comfort, don’t they?

Virgo:

October is your money month since the Sun and Mercury are moving through your financial sector.  It’s time to be honest about your financial picture, not because they are difficult or overly frustrating, but as a bridge to tomorrow.  In fact, with Venus retrograde in your solar 3rd house, you may discover new ways to manage your finances more effectively.  Otherwise, like your Gemini cousins, your solar ruler (Mercury) makes numerous aspects, that will keep October moving and far from boring.

Career:  The Moon begins the month in your career-oriented 10th house, which could reflect changes on the horizon – especially mid-month when cosmic forces make situations easier, and obstacles that have thwarted you in the past are no longer problematic. Conflicts with others may occur mid-month, but with Mercury joining forces with Jupiter on the 29th, you will see that your angels are on your side and conspiring in your favor.

Love: Jupiter, your love planet, is moving through your 3rd house. You have ideas about love but may have problems manifesting them or are unable to sacrifice the time to participate in it.  Venus being retrograde only complicates matters by forcing you to be more introspective and less social.  Take some time to slow down and smell the roses.  Spend some time with your significant other (or other close relationships), especially towards the end of the month, when Mercury and Jupiter meet up in sexy Scorpio.

Money:  This month’s lunations (New and Full Moon) provide you with a powerful opportunity to do financial intention work.  The New Moon lands in your financial sector, and it’s a great time to attract financial prosperity.  Later in the month, the Full Moon lands in your big-picture 9th house in Taurus.  The Full Moon conjoined to Uranus gives you sudden flashes of insight.  In this case, you may need to quit looking at your big picture plans and focus on day-to-day living.  Learn to take things one step at a time.

Libra:

October is a supercharged month for you – especially when it is smack dab in the middle of Libra season. First off, it’s all about you with the Sun moving through your 1st house, and you find yourself center stage.  Now is a great time to plot out your goals for the next year. Secondly, Venus, your solar ruler will turn retrograde in your 2nd house. You will re-evaluate what you value over the next month, shedding the old and embracing the new. As we grow older and more experienced, our values change, and we need to incorporate new ones. Later this month you can use the energy of the Full Moon to let go of any values or belief systems that are no longer of use to you.

Career:  Big picture issues are one of the primary concerns around career this month. You may need to create a plan of action to move to the next level, and what better time to do it than with the beneficial Sun shining down on you. New creative projects may happen during the middle of the month that give you a sense of purpose.  Finally, new opportunities could present themselves as Mercury conjoins Jupiter and travel may be included.

Love:  Romance and pleasure are activated this month as Mars moves through your solar 5th house.  So, opportunities to connect will be available. However, tensions may occur during the middle of the month when Mars picks a fight with Venus retrograde. This may force you to consider how you feel about your relationships.

Money:  Your financial picture may feel blocked this month but realize that the cosmos is setting you up for a better future. Although 2018, is a better overall financial year for you, you may need to evaluate how you are spending your money.  The Full Moon in your solar 8th house is a great time to eliminate debt through active intention work.

Scorpio:

This month is going to be high on the intense meter, so you may want to stock up on the herbal teas. Mars, your solar ruler, is in your family-oriented 4th house, where he tends to be a bit contentious, and at times, argumentative, especially with Mars only making difficult aspects throughout the month.  Past family issues may resurface causing a bit of tension, hence the need for the herbal teas. Venus retrograde occurs in your solar 1st house, which means you may need to focus on yourself and adjust areas of your life that are no longer working.

Career:  Past career issues may resurface with the Sun moving through your 12th house.  Problems can make you feel imprisoned by your job, which could reach the boiling point during the middle of the month.  The good news is that the Sun does not linger in a sign for long, so improvement will occur towards the end of the month when we enter Scorpio season.  You may need to take some time to decide if your current career path is right for you.  If you decide to make changes, the 26th and 27th are the best days to make your move.

Love:  Relationships are an issue with Venus retrograde ruling your solar 7th house.  These issues could amplify problems lurking beneath the surface that are ready to burst into the light of day. On a good note, the Full Moon on the 24th gives you an opportunity to do some intention work on removing negative issues from your relationships and cleaning the slate.

Money – Your financial situation should be stable throughout the month.  Moreover, positive financial news will come knocking on the 29th.  Make sure to buy yourself something special because everyone deserves a treat now and then.

Sagittarius:

Compassion and caring for others are going to be your primary focus because people (including family and friends) are going to be in need. Of course, because of your innate spiritual nature, it will be hard to turn people away.  The New Moon occurs in your solar 11th house, and new friendships and associates will arrive on the scene.  Also, you can use this New Moon to do “hopes and wishes” intention work.  In other words, this month you can create whatever you desire if you are willing to work for it. Mars moving through solar 3rd house instructs you to watch your tongue, even when you are bated by others.

Career: Working with others will be important as Mercury moves through your solar 11th house. It’s important to build your network because it will prove important in the future.  Mercury conjoins Jupiter on the 29th when expansion of your career knocks on your door, possibly from a connection to the past.

Love:  Relationships are hot and heavy throughout October, and those that have felt stagnant will begin to move to the next level.  If you are currently single, Mercury (your love ruler), lands in your house of friends where you may find someone special. Otherwise, enjoy the energy!

Money:  You are in a two-year cycle working towards financial stability and October should keep you on track. Financial investments that you have nurtured may prove to pay off and now would be a good time to consider selling them. Later this month, money that you have forgotten, may make its way back into your wallet.

Capricorn:

Creating your best life and getting to the top of your game is important now.  Becoming the best you may include opportunities for more education and long-distance travel.  Moreover, your friends and associates may prove valuable assets in achieving your goals.  The New Moon in the 10th house on October 8th could present new opportunities, and it’s a powerful time for you to do ‘success’ based intention work.  You are currently in a potent seed level of your life, plant your garden accordingly.

Career:  The Sun is moving through your career sector and shines a light on new opportunities that come to fruition this month, especially if you have felt conflicted about your career trajectory. Venus retrograde could cause you to question your business relationships, and you may end some and begin others. The end of the month could prove pivotal, so watch events that occur at that time.

Love:  Relationships will take a back seat to career throughout October. You will probably feel married to your job, at times. Although you may be attracted to people you work with, try to avoid fraternizing.  As the saying goes, you should never bring sand to the beach.  The Full Moon on October 24th could open a bit of romance.  Don’t take anything seriously until Venus goes direct in November.

Money:  Finances should be good to go with your money ruler in its sign.  You can expect this trend to continue.  Mars in your 2nd house could open several new financial ventures that will make you feel more secure and satisfied with your life. However, be wary of spending money around mid-month.  It’s best to think twice before making large purchases.

Aquarius:

There is a general aura of ambivalence around you, which may lead to you questioning many areas of your life.  Venus retrograde in your solar 10th house forces you to question your career and your associates. Your uncertainty will be highlighted mid-month when Venus confronts the war god, Mars.  It may be time for you to make your move but confusion about which path to take may leave you feeling stuck.  The Universe gives you a cosmic assist on the 8th, when the New Moon lands in your ‘big picture’ 9th house, giving you the opportunity to do clarity intention work.  Finally, the Full Moon lands in your solar 4th house and unexpected family issues that have been brewing beneath the surface may leave you dealing with a mess.

Career:  Your career planet, Mars, and Venus retrograde make your career a major focus throughout October, especially since they both tangle mid-month. Career frustrations may become apparent and increasing tensions with others are possible.  The good news is that new career options may be presented towards the end of the month when Mercury conjoins Jupiter.

Love:  Looking at your relationship ‘big picture’ is your love theme this month.  You may need to examine whether you are getting your needs met, emotionally and physically. As I said, in your general outlook, the New Moon in the 9th opens the door for clarity, and this may include a clear understanding of your love life.

Money: Although you should watch your spending throughout October, there are opportunities to bring in extra money towards the end of the month, and a new creative side hustle may present itself. Otherwise, keep on pressing forward because I’ll have great financial news for you next month.

Pisces:

Are you going to take the safe road or fight for your beliefs? This will be your theme for October, especially towards the end of the month when four planets in Scorpio move through your solar 9th house of beliefs. Events may occur that you make you question your ideas, thoughts, and opinions that you have developed over the last few years and you will shelf your intuitive hunches to seek out hard-core facts.  Just remember, that it is okay to be wrong, and okay to move on!  Towards the end of the month, someone will enter your life that changes everything when the Full Moon occurs in your solar 3rd house conjoins ‘shock and awe’ Uranus.

Career:  If your career has taken a backseat to your ideas and options, you may be on a course correction after learning difficult financial news.  However, October 29th may prove to be an important day for decisions when Mercury conjoins Jupiter, your career planet.

Love:  Your love life may feel like it is on a roller-coaster as Mercury (your love planet) moves from planet to planet changing the energy quickly and distinctly. Some days will be good and others downright miserable.  The beginning of the month may bring tense conversations and potentially unwanted ultimatums that will continue through the 19th.  However, things will turn around towards the end of the month; if you are honest about the state of your life and whether certain focuses are disrupting your relationships, and not just your romantic ones.

Money:  As I said in your career forecast, bad financial news may result in a course correction mid-month when Mars (your money ruler) tangles with Venus retrograde.  Mars is moving through your solar 12th house, which is the house of self-undoing and Venus rules your 3rd house of communication.  You should question whether your opinions are influencing your bottom line.

Surviving Venus Retrograde

So, we have another planet that’s going retrograde.

Yes, I know, after retrograde mania this summer many of you are going through retrograde fatigue, but it’s not over yet.

On October 5th through November 16th, Venus the love planet goes retrograde in Scorpio.  And, like her brother Mercury, she can be troublesome, especially in relationships.  Do not be surprised if you see relationships breakups on social media.  It’s just going to happen, and with Venus being in Scorpio, it’s going to be more intense than normal.

I think the key is attempting to understand how Venus operates and using it as a tool to achieve the results we desire rather than just allowing Venus to do her thing unfettered.  So, let’s dive in…

Scorpio

Now, Scorpio is a deeply misunderstood sign.  Its symbols (snakes, spiders, crocodiles, and scorpions) are intimidating, and it is difficult for good-natured people to stomach.  However, Scorpio is not evil; it just represents the side of human life that most of us would rather not deal with and we attempt to hide this side of life from public view.

One of the primary keywords associated with Scorpio is transformation, which is a tricky word on its own.  Dictionary.com defines it as a metamorphosis during the life cycle of an animal, and I feel that this is a telling definition. Scorpio has to do with change and eliminating things that are no longer working by actively working to create something new and more durable.  It is a necessary sign that gives us the capacity to have experiences that move us to the next level – even if this is sometimes painful and difficult.

On to Venus…

Venus rules love, money, and values and is the planetary ruler of Taurus and Libra.  Venus is about peace and harmony with a dash of physical pleasure thrown in for good measure.  However, every planet has its dark side, and that is no exception for Venus. When Venus is not working properly in a chart she can be vain, domineering, jealous, conniving, deceitful, treacherous, and a vamp, and I believe we need to understand Venus’s duality to get a full grip on her retrograde cycle.

Signs in astrology are like adjectives.  They describe how a planet is going to operate.  In watery Scorpio, Venus likes her relationships to be deep, intense, and all-consuming.  She is extremely loyal and will often sacrifice her desires to devote herself to her partner fully.  She is idealistic and has a particular vision of what love is supposed to be.  She seeks relationships that will allow her to grow and develop, even if those relationships are dysfunctional and painful.  However, she demands all the same qualities out of her partnerships, and if her partner fails to oblige, she can become dark, possessive, paranoid and jealous.  She is fearful of alienation and being abandoned by those she loves, so she will often attempt to bind someone she loves to her, which often leads to its own set of problems.

Now, this isn’t a Venus in Scorpio hater blog, many people with this placement are capable of healthy relationships that are strong and filled with love and makes them a different person as a result of their relationships. But I think that both sides of the placement need to be explored to understand her as a transit and to use her as a tool we can all use to make our relationships better.

Venus Retrograde

Whenever Mercury goes retrograde you get a straightforward list of things that could occur including communication difficulties, avoid signing legal paperwork or documents, avoid buying and selling, the possibility of mechanical problems, schedules go awry and avoid starting anything new.

Rightfully so, Venus has her own set of warnings:

  1. Avoid getting involved in a permanent relationship. Yes, you will meet people that are exciting, and the sex may be off the chart, but wait and see if you feel the same way about the person after Venus goes direct.
  2. Avoid engagements. I know, your man (or woman) asking you to marry them is exciting but try to avoid saying yes until Venus goes direct.  Frequently, engagements that happen during a Venus retrograde will end.
  3. Avoid breakups, if you can. This one is the hardest, especially if you are in a dysfunctional relationship.  However, breakups that occur during a Venus retrograde (even the most toxic abusive ones) tend to reconcile afterward.
  4. Avoid getting involved in a new business partnership. In case you did not know, Venus rules Venus partnerships, and business partnerships that begin during a Venus retrograde could quickly end.
  5. Avoid going to war. Strangely enough, Venus retrograde likes to spawn wars.  Since Venus naturally rules the 7th house and Libra, she also governs adversaries and enemies.  You may be goaded or baited into going on the offense but avoid doing so.  The person that begins the conflict tends to lose.  Stay defensive and keep it classy.
  6. Avoid making any large purchases, financial expenditures or investments. Venus rules money, and you should keep yours in your wallet until Venus goes direct.

Now let’s get into the good stuff:

Remember the deepest issue of Scorpio is one of the most important factors to working with Venus proactively.  Venus in Scorpio seeks relationships on a deeper level.  What does this mean?  Simply put, society has a collective view of relationships.  It can be extremely superficial, materially driven, and people often get married for the wrong reasons, such as getting married for material security rather than love.  Venus in Scorpio looks for a relationship based on depth of emotional feeling and connection, enduring loyalty and devotion.

While Venus is in retrograde, we first need to review our relationships honestly, and if our expectations about relationships are unreal, unobtainable, or overly idealistic, then problems may begin to occur.  We need to view our partners as human beings with all human frailties and imperfections, and we need to allow them to be that way. Sometimes we need to open dialogue with our partners and find out what they need out of the relationship and come to some form compromise so that both parties are happy.  In severe cases, couples’ therapy is always an option.  Finally, we need to be real about our financial situation and create a financial plan if needed.

These suggestions are to help you avoid some of the more difficult problems associated with the retrograde and by working through the issues proactively you will learn about yourself.  You will transform (Scorpio) your relationships into ones that are lasting and are more prepared to take on the struggles of ordinary life.

How Venus Retrograde Affects the Signs

Although Venus rules love and money, she lands in a house in your solar chart.  The house is the stage or backdrop for Venus to do her work, so pay attention to the other areas of your life that Venus may influence.

Aries (and Aries rising):  Love is a battlefield.  That will be your theme throughout Venus retrograde.  Intense feelings may erupt that will cause difficulties.  Not addressing these problems could cause feelings of suspicion.  Conflicts with your friends could happen around October 10th and resolving them proactively could be your best bet. Towards the end of the retrograde cycle, you will have an opportunity to repair relationship difficulties, but it will require compromise.

Taurus (and Taurus rising): Like your Aries neighbor, relationships are under the gun. Although problems are sure to surface, listening to your partner and considering their needs is the simplest resolution.  Part of the difficulty may be that you are so busy being focused on your goals and objectives that your partner feels pushed aside.  On Halloween, Venus slips into Libra in your solar 6th house, and your relationship with your body will become your focus.  Venus in your 6th is a great time to review your fitness program and take care of yourself.

Gemini (and Gemini rising): Make sure to book a spa day during Venus retrograde because you may need a bit of pampering because internal focus will be part of your Venus cycle with your ruler Mercury conjoining Venus on October 15th. You may be forced to make changes to your daily schedule, which could prove annoying. New insights into yourself could prove important around October 26th, and you may need this knowledge when a prior relationship tries to reopen a closed-door around Halloween – proceed with caution.  If you are in a relationship, be careful of reacting to shake-ups that occur because old issues may resurface.

Cancer (and Cancer rising): Venus retrograde will transit through your solar 5th house of romance and pleasure.  You will begin to question whether your romantic needs are being met or satisfied. Venus in the 5th could lead to some interesting solutions, but at least the sex will be good, especially around October 10th when Venus squares Mars in your 8th house. Difficulties and disagreements with friends could occur towards the end of the month. Try to resolve any problems proactively.  Listening to others is always the key.

Leo (and Leo rising): Do you need to do some home repair or redecorating? Beautifying your life could be a major theme throughout the retrograde cycle. You may be interested in doing some interior changes around your home to spruce it up a bit, especially in Venus’ natural abode, the bedroom.  Also, relationships may need a bit of remodeling when Venus squares Mars on the 10th. You might want to try spicing things up a bit and do something different or focus the attention on your partner rather than yourself for a change. Relationships at work could prove problematic towards the end of the month.

Virgo (and Virgo rising): Communicating your needs in relationships may prove important with Venus retrograde in your solar 3rd house. Normally, during this transit of Venus, it’s easy to ‘feel the love’ in your daily life, but during Venus retrograde, you may feel disconnected. The best way to resolve this is to reach out to those around you and try to be more social.  You may need to express to the people that are important in your life how much you love and need them. Towards the end of the retrograde cycle, you may need to re-examine your values because many of them may have changed.

Libra (and Libra rising):  Your relationship with money will be your primary focus throughout this retrograde cycle.  Difficult financial news will get you to examine your purchases and whether they are necessary. It is best to keep financial purchases practical through this cycle. Try to circumvent financial negotiations until after Halloween because they may not be favorable for you. Additionally, avoid borrowing money, and you may need to invest in your everyday life. On Halloween, Venus will slide into your solar 1st house, and a little bit of self-focus may be necessary.

Scorpio (and Scorpio rising): Normally, Venus moving through your first house would make you feel social and connected to others, but you may feel the need to isolate yourself during this retrograde cycle. Conflicts with others could easily occur, and you may have little stomach for it, especially with family members. You may feel manipulated by others towards the end of the month, and it’s best that you stand your ground or defend yourself. As Venus returns to your 12th house on the 31st, you may need to reach out to your close friends or siblings to resolve any problems that may occur. Since Venus retrogrades in your sign, you will experience it stronger than everyone else – proceed with caution, but you will understand yourself on a deeper level when it is over.

Sagittarius (and Sagittarius rising):  Venus moving through the 12th house is usually one of the best 12th house placements because Venus is naturally exalted.  However, Venus retrograde in the 12th can be problematic.  Normally, Venus is rather self-sacrificing when moving through the 12th, but Venus retrograde can make you feel victimized by the people you are helping. You may need to set some solid boundaries lest you fall into co-dependent behavior patterns. Towards the end of the month, shakeups may occur that can be difficult to manage, but the resolution of these problems will occur in November. Standing up for your values may be important for you to navigate through this retrograde cycle.

Capricorn (and Capricorn rising): In traditional astrology, the 11th house is the house of hopes and wishes, and with Venus going through the 11th you may feel that luck isn’t on your side and that situations in your life are not working out for you the way you would have liked.  Just remember, this cycle is only temporary and before you know it things will turn in your favor.  Since the 11th house is also the house of friends and your social network, you may need to do some pruning and decide who holds value in your life and who doesn’t. Later in the month, Venus moves into your 10th house and conflicts may occur at your job.  It’s not recommended to be reactive when dealing with others while this placement is active.

Aquarius (and Aquarius rising): Your career is your primary focus during Venus transit through your solar 10th house.  You may feel disconnected at your job and question whether your current career path is bringing you joy and contentment. Towards the end of the month, sudden changes in your career may make you feel a bit disoriented and could create unintended conflicts with others.  The 10th house is also the house of success, and your self-esteem may take a hit. However, once Venus moves into your solar 9th house, you will begin to see your big picture objectives once again, which will release some of the pressure.  Stay in a goal-oriented mindset.

Pisces (and Pisces rising): Normally, Venus moving through your 9th house encourages personal growth through your relationships. You would feel that your love experience is opening new horizons. However, with Venus retrograde, your difficulties in relationships or finances may make it difficult to get beyond your day-to-day life to experience something life altering. Venus retrograde in the 9th could make you feel frustrated and uninspired. On Halloween, Venus will slip into your 8th house, and you may need to revise your credit strategies or repair any damage.  Be careful of overly expressing rigid opinions that do not consider other people’s points of view.  If you do, people may feel alienated from you and cut off communication.
