Astrology Forecast for the Week of July 25, 2022 – July 30, 2022

Mercury square Uranus, Mercury oppose Saturn

The astrology forecast for the week of July 25, 2022 through July 30, 2022 features five planetary aspects (Venus square Jupiter, Mercury square Mars, Mercury square Uranus, Mercury oppose Saturn, and the Sun trine Jupiter), a New Moon in Leo, and Jupiter turns retrograde in Aries.

The final week of July is troubling energetically, so let’s dive right in.

Cosmic Overview

This week, Mercury travels through Leo and triggers Mars, Uranus, and Saturn, which have been building up recently, and it’s a powder keg of energy waiting to be unleashed. Just a gentle warning: Take care of yourself this week!  Get plenty of rest, make healthy food choices, drink plenty of water, and since Mars is involved, move your body. This week, you should really put your self-care toolkit to use.

Since early July, Mars has slowly built steam, forming an explosive conjunction with Uranus and a frustrating square to Saturn. Also, Saturn and Uranus have been moving towards each other, bringing back the unresolved tensions of the last two years. Mercury will activate all these planets this week.

So, what does this mean?

For the last two years, Saturn in Aquarius has been in a difficult aspect to Uranus in Taurus. Simply, Saturn likes things the way they are and doesn’t like change. He dreams of the golden age, when everything was perfect and in its proper place. Conversely, Uranus wants to shake things up, tear down the system, and is the quintessential definition of change. He is concerned with pushing us forward into an idealistic world that ushers in human development and ingenuity. Uranus is perfectly comfortable tearing down the system if it fits into the grander scheme of things.

To add insult to injury, Mars JUST likes to blow sh!t up!

Over the next few weeks (Saturn square Uranus will be active for the rest of the year), the news will be littered with events that are explosive, eruptive, and downright jaw dropping. Expect problems around the world, potential governmental protests, escalation of tensions, and all out warfare in politics. If you’ve been planning an “info” break, this week would be a good time to unplug.

How does Mercury work into the mix?

In astrology, Mercury is the communication planet. He helps us understand life, communicate to others, and comprehend information that we may receive. It’s easily conceivable that when Mercury makes difficult aspects to other planets (especially malefic Mars and Saturn), how things can go downhill rather quickly.

You can expect tense conversations, frustrations with the state of the world and/or your life, and feelings of insecurity and self-doubt. However, the key to working with this energy is to be proactive.  Look at the areas of your life where you may have resisted change or where you feel frustrated by a lack of change, and begin to carve out a strategy that moves your life forward. And remember, you don’t have to rush things.  Sometimes having a plan is enough of an elixir to help mitigate the energies.

Daily Breakdown

Monday, July 25, 2022

We start the week off with Venus square Jupiter, which is a pretty enjoyable aspect, especially if you are not mired down in duties and responsibilities. And, even if you are, try to spend some time doing something enjoyable. Venus square Jupiter is optimistic, and you will enjoy the company of others, so social excursions and gatherings that include your inner circle are recommended. However, please note that you will have little self-discipline while this aspect is active, so try not to let things out of control.  Also, be careful when making purchases, because Venus square Jupiter can be impulsive.

Tuesday, July 26, 2022

Put a watch on your tongue, because Mercury in Leo forms a discordant aspect (square) with Mars in Taurus. You may feel agitated and irritable throughout the day, and this could lead to arguments or uncomfortable confrontations. Be careful with your words, because you may say something you will later regret.

Wednesday, July 27, 2022

The Moon moves through Cancer and trines Neptune later this afternoon. It’s an excellent day for spiritual or meditative work that will help you get in touch with your inner world. Creative projects also get a boost.  However, later this evening the Moon opposes Pluto, and difficult emotions may surface.  If you feel overwhelmed, try to do some self-care techniques to help manage them effectively.

Thursday, July 28, 2022

On Thursday, we have a pretty active day, starting with the New Moon in fiery Leo.  This New Moon is all about you! It’s excellent for doing magic or intentional work that helps put you in a favorable light with others. You can also use this energy to get a new job, a promotion, or start a new romantic relationship. The main takeaway is doing you, and doing it well.

Later in the day, Mercury opposes Uranus in Taurus. The way you experience this aspect depends on your ability to be flexible and embrace change. Otherwise, today you will feel the jitters and possibly experience some mild anxiety. You may have trouble controlling your thoughts, and this might make you feel uneasy.  Avoid jumping to conclusions or forming judgments at this time. Instead, try to sit with your feelings and approach concerns at a less volatile time.

Friday, July 29, 2022

The Moon spends its last day in Leo and tangles with Mars, Uranus, and Saturn. You may have difficulties controlling your emotions if you feel you are being thwarted or maligned by others. Although it may be difficult, try to avoid conflicts. Arguing your position or standing your ground is futile and can actually make matters worse.

Saturday, July 30, 2022

The weekend starts with the Moon moving into Virgo during the early afternoon hours.  It’s an excellent day to focus on projects that need to be completed, and your ordinary duties and responsibilities. Since Virgo is a sign related to health matters, it’s perfect for getting a great workout in or starting a wellness program.

Sunday, July 31, 2022

We close the week with Mercury opposing Saturn and the Sun trining Jupiter. Although you may wake up feeling down and insecure, your mood should quickly rebound, with the Sun forming a trine to Jupiter in Aries. It’s an excellent day to leave the past behind and focus on the future. You may need to make changes to your game plan or tweak your long-term goals. However, staying focused on you’re doing what you can to improve your life may help you overcome any difficulties you may have. At the end of the day, you create your own future, as long as you are willing to do the work and have a positive attitude.

See you next week!

Cosmic Weather Forecast – January 7, 2018 – January 13, 2018

So, this week we have a powerful astrological aspect that will be active throughout 2019 – Jupiter in Sagittarius square Neptune in Pisces.  This energy will affect us throughout the year, and it is one of the astrological backdrops to keep in mind.

Now, I am going to be blunt and say that I am concerned about this aspect, especially with the heavy Capricornian influence in the cosmos right now.  Capricorn reflects the need to take responsibility for our lives – meaning we need to deeply look at what is happening in our lives, the choices, and decisions we made to get us to where we are currently (and this may involve swallowing some bitter pills), and the hard work necessary to get us to where we need to be.  However, we often try to escape personal responsibility by casting blame on others, whether it be our bosses, our parents, the community we live in, the government, or opposing energies that are blocking us from getting what we want, and Jupiter square Neptune may add to our self-inflicted victimization.

One feature of Jupiter square Neptune is unbridled optimism.  You know, the belief that there is a magical cosmic Santa Claus that is going to give us what we want, and even though we may wait and wait for it to happen magically, St. Nick is going to arrive, possibly at the 11th hour, and give us our miracle.  The self-help movement calls this magical thinking, and although I’m a big supporter of using magic to achieve results, I also believe that magic requires effort and action on our part.  We need to take control of our lives and be willing to do whatever it takes to get to where we want to be.  Santa doesn’t cause miracles, we do.

This week we need to proactive use Jupiter square Neptune and have faith and inspiration in life, but we need to ground them by accepting reality.  Rather than looking for a redeemer to fix our problems, struggles, and difficulties, we need to accept our current station in life and create viable strategies for improvement.  Otherwise, the harsh reality that Santa doesn’t exist can lead us to depression and apathy.  It’s time to rise above the perpetual victim mindset and become our own hero.

Now, on with the forecast…

Monday, January 7, 2019

This week starts off with Venus moving (finally) out of Scorpio and into fiery Sagittarius.  After months of dredging the depths of your relationships, you will seek new opportunities to be inspired and intellectually stimulated.  Sagittarius is the sign of the great adventure and while Venus is in the sign of the archer, discovering new potentials and possibilities will keep the relationship exciting.  The more effort you put into exploring new things with your partner, the more your relationship will remain fresh.   Venus remains in Sagittarius until February 4th.

Tuesday, January 8, 2019

You may need to watch your mouth on Tuesday because Mercury square Mars can lead the tongue into tense discussions and arguments.  You may be irritated or frustrated by those around you, and you may feel the need to speak your mind, often regardless of the consequences. Try to hold off until the energy of Mercury-Mars has passed, which will be the beginning of next week.

Wednesday, January 9, 2019

The Moon spends the first half of the day in inventive Aquarius and forms an exciting sextile to Uranus.  It’s a great day to do something different and think outside the box.  The Moon will move into emotional Pisces mid-afternoon and forms a square to Venus.  You may feel agitated by others, and it may be best to do something solitary during the evening hours.

Thursday, January 10, 2019

The Moon continues to move through Pisces throughout the day and forms opportunistic aspects to Mercury and Saturn.  It’s a great day for creative work or doing anything artistically inclined.  Later Thursday, the Moon conjoins Neptune, which is a powerful time to get in touch with your feelings.

Friday, January 11, 2019

On Friday, we have our third significant aspect of the week when the Sun makes its annual conjunction to Pluto.  Use this energy to repair or transform anything that has broken down, including relationships.  Sun-Pluto aspects allow you to dig deep beneath the surface and gives you the power to understand things on a deeper level.  You can then use this insight to resolve problems or issues in your life. Additionally, avoid individuals that you feel are trying to control you.

The Weekend

Besides the Jupiter-Neptune square I previously discussed, Mercury will conjoin Saturn in Capricorn on Sunday.

You should approach this weekend with caution and may need to revise decisions you have previously made.  Mercury conjunct Saturn is excellent for mental based work that requires accuracy and precision.

The problematic side of Mercury-Saturn is that you will have difficulty communicating or expressing yourself to others and you may need to push away negative self-talk at this time.

See you next week….

Cosmic Weather Forecast – November 26, 2018 – December 2, 2018

So, for the past few weeks, we have had minimal amounts of astrological aspects to deal with, but this week makes up for it with six major aspects and two sign changes.

What a way to start the holiday season, right?

The major player this week is Mercury who continues to move backward in Sagittarius. Retrograde planets force us to analyze (re-analyze) what has worked for us in the past, and to decide what doesn’t.  Mercury in Sagittarius is amplified because Sagittarius is one of the two signs that help us analyze our ideas and beliefs about life.  As the week progresses, take note of the events that occur because they will be guideposts to help you decide what is best for your future.  Mercury in Sagittarius allows you to have a solid plan of action as you prepare for the New Year.

Remember, we do not make changes while Mercury is retrograde, we make them when Mercury goes direct and out of shadow, which is on Christmas Day (December 25th).

Now, on with the forecast…

Monday, November 26, 2018

The week starts off with a pair of aspects that occur during the early morning hours – Sun conjunct Jupiter and Mercury retrograde square Mars.

Ordinarily, the Sun conjunct Jupiter is one of the most positive days of the year.  This aspect expands how you view your life and gives you something to look forward to, but with Mercury and Mars in the mix, I am concerned.

Mercury square Mars tends to get involved in arguments and fights, and the more you need to stand up for your beliefs, the more forceful you will become.  You may feel challenged by others, which may make you irritable.  So, you could easily fly off the handle if someone annoys you too much, and you could easily react by taking them to task. It’s best not to take anything personal over the next few days. Additionally, Mercury square Mars is susceptible to accidents, so watch what you are doing carefully.

Tuesday, November 27, 2018

Tuesday brings us a whopping three aspects – Sun conjunct Mercury retrograde, Mars sextile Saturn, and Mercury retrograde conjunct Jupiter.

The hostile energy from Monday will continue to leak into Tuesday, so it might be best to avoid people as much as possible and focus on the positive energy that is available. First off, if you have projects that require an extra bit of effort, today would be a great day to tackle them.  Any effort you put into anything you do will have a positive impact on your future.  Otherwise, spend the bulk of your day looking at your big picture objectives because Mercury retrogrades power of reflection will uncover details you may have missed, which will help you feel better about your personal trajectory. On a good note, overall, Tuesday should be a good day.

Wednesday, November 28, 2018

The Moon moves through regal Leo on Wednesday but makes no aspects until the early morning on Thursday, which is a lovely sextile to Venus.  It’s a good day to pamper yourself and do something enjoyable. Later this evening, you may want to have a date night with your significant other or children. If you are single, put your feet up and relax a little; after all, you deserve it.

Thursday, November 29, 2018

Thursday is another lunar day, but the Moon will move out of Leo and into practical Virgo. You may find it difficult to stay focused on your activities with the Moon-forming difficult aspects to Mercury and Jupiter through mid-afternoon.  Mercury will distract you and Jupiter would rather do something fun, so tasks and responsibilities may be difficult to manage.  Thursday evening would be good for a night in because the lunar aspects continue to be challenging.

Friday, November 30, 2018

Friday brings us one of the most difficult days of the year for relationships with Venus in opposition to Uranus.

Venus-Uranus aspects are notorious for breakups.  If your relationship is on rocky ground, then you may want to stay alert.  You see, this aspect brings up your personal (or your partners) ambivalence and even the best of relationships get stale from time to time, but the default mode of this aspect is to focus on the behaviors of your partner and how they are not fulfilling your needs, rather than admit your own boredom.  So, unresolved tensions easily rise to the surface that may cause disappointments, and for many, the need to be free of your relationship.

The key to working with Venus oppose Uranus constructively is to bring new elements into your relationship so it is exciting again.  Do something to break up the monotony of day-to-day living.  A little fun and enjoyment is often the most powerful love potion for struggling relationships.

The Weekend:

This weekend both Mercury and Venus move into Scorpio.  These sign changes present us with an opportunity to peak under the veil of your life and see things for how they are rather than the false constructs you create in your mind.  Otherwise, the weekend should go rather smoothly with the Moon moving through Libra, and it is a great time to get holiday shopping out of the way.

See you next week…

Cosmic Weather Forecast – October 15 – 21, 2018

Are you ready for some cosmic insight into your relationships?  If so, you have come to the right place.

Our big newsmaker this week continues to be Venus retrograde.  If you didn’t read my extensive article on the latest shenanigans of the love goddess, then you should check it out:  Surviving Venus Retrograde.  This week relationships continue to be in the crosshairs.  However, we get a cosmic assist from Mercury at the beginning of the week.

Now, let’s dive in…

This week, the Moon travels through the final three signs of the zodiac – Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces. Our focus will shift from our personal relationships to our relationships with the rest of the world.  So, do not be surprised if you get inundated with political ads and robocalls; after all, ‘tis the season.

Monday:

Remember that cosmic assist that we will get from the universe? Well, it happens on Monday when Mercury conjoins Venus retrograde.  The planet Mercury symbolized how we understand life and when he conjoins Venus retrograde, we begin to understand the mechanics of our relationships on a deeper level.  Practically speaking, the areas of our relationships that are problematic will become clear, giving us the opportunity to make changes where necessary.

There are a couple of features of Mercury conjunct Venus that are important.  First off, this aspect gives us the ability to express our emotions easier, and for those that have problems doing this, it can be a game changer in your relationship.  Keep in mind, it will be easier for your partner, as well.  Secondly, Mercury conjunct Venus allows us to understand our partners better. Often, seeing life through the eyes of another helps us to improve our relationships because we are empathetic and willing to validate our partners experience.

Since Venus rules money and Mercury rules commerce and our day-to-day life activities, we can see our business activities and professional life clearly.  You may discover personal dissatisfaction with your finances or career and can begin to formulate a plan to make things better.  Avoid making significant changes until after the New Year because Mercury retrograde happens the day Venus turns direct (Nov 16).

Tuesday:

The Moon continues to move through Capricorn and forms troubling aspects to both the Sun and Pluto.  Power struggles could occur with people you work with and you may feel like someone is trying to diminish your light.  However, any conflicts that may occur will be resolved favorably because the Moon’s last aspect is a beneficial sextile to Jupiter.

Wednesday:

The Moon moves into social Aquarius.  This energy is great for networking and socializing with friends and associates.  You will find it necessary to connect with kindred spirits that share similar ideals.  The Moon forms difficult aspect to Venus on Wednesday evening, but any insecure feelings that occur will be fleeting.

Thursday:

Minor snafus may occur during the early morning hours, and you need to be very clear with your communications to prevent problems that may potentially occur, but overall the day should be energetic and rather positive. This is a great day to get things done.

Friday:

There is a split in the cosmic energy on Friday.  Mercury will trine Neptune during the morning hours.  This is great energy for creative work because Neptune dissolves blocks to the imaginal and spiritual realms. Additionally, Mercury trine Neptune makes us very sensitive to the moods of others, which on one hand makes us more sympathetic and charitable, but on the other hand, leads to unintentional conflicts.

This leads us straight into Mercury square Mars.  Although we may have good intentions towards others with Mercury trine Neptune, they may not be receptive.  In fact, with Mercury square Mars they may be hostile, which can lead to sharp words and potentially explosive arguments, especially if you begin to defend yourself.  If tensions arise today, it is best to walk away.  The good news is that Mercury moves quickly allowing tempers to simmer.

The Weekend:

This weekend the Moon moves through sensitive Pisces.  The good news is that she only makes positive aspects.  You may be called upon to help someone in need because the natural energy of Pisces is to make us sensitive to people around us, like Mercury trine Neptune.  The difference is that people will be more receptive to our help and assistance because Mercury square Mars will be less of a hinderance.

Otherwise, the weekend is a great time to enjoy yourself.  Perhaps, a nice dinner or a movie may be in order.

See you next week with the Full Moon in Taurus…
