The astrology forecast for the week of August 1, 2022 through August 7, 2022 features five planetary aspects (Mars conjunct Uranus, Venus sextile Uranus, Venus sextile Mars, Venus trine Neptune, and Mars square Saturn), and Mercury moves out of Leo and into Virgo.
It’s a busy week, so without further ado…
Cosmic Overview
The major aspect of the week is Mars conjunct Uranus in Taurus. Mars conjunct Uranus is an extremely unpredictable aspect, because it doesn’t like limitations, and will attempt to free itself from constraints. Of course, this creates enormous tension, and it’s easy to get caught up in impulsive decision-making, even if it’s to your detriment. You may also notice that people are more ‘on edge’ (or you may be), and the slightest provocation can lead to a volatile reaction.
Working with Mars conjunct Uranus is difficult, because it runs on energy and adrenaline, not rationality. So, you need to be as proactive as possible this week. Mars-Uranus does reveal the areas of your life that are limited, because these areas will be where you feel the most frustrations. Try to channel this energy into making changes in your life, but do so once the dust settles, so you can use your wise mind, not your momentary emotional response.
Daily Breakdown
Monday, August 1, 2022
We start the week off with Mars conjoined to Uranus in Taurus. You may feel agitated with others, and you may react in potentially rash ways. You may feel extremely frustrated by situations in your life where you feel discouraged or feel the system is holding you back. As best as possible, try to be proactive, and think things out before making a move.
Tuesday, August 2, 2022
The highlights for Tuesday feature Venus forming helpful sextiles to Uranus and Mars. Since Venus is a benefic, she will bring out the more constructive side of Mars conjunct Uranus, which is the urge to break free from limiting constraints, and she will help do so productively. Furthermore, you will notice that you want to be around people that are adventurous and add excitement and pizazz to your life. Boring and monotonous activities will not do it for you, because you need to do something that excites you and feeds your soul. Plus, Venus sextile Mars is positive for financial investments and new business prospects.
Wednesday, August 3, 2022
The Moon moves through Libra on Wednesday. Libra is in the sign associated with relationships, and it’s an excellent day to focus on yours. This evening, the Moon forms a lovely trine to Saturn, and it’s an auspicious time to work through relationships that may have been difficult over the past few weeks. Although you will want to smooth things over, make sure you do it while honoring your boundaries.
Thursday, August 4, 2022
Mercury moves out of Leo and into Virgo. Mercury in Virgo understands life through day-to-day experiences. This is an excellent time to try to manage your life more efficiently and pay attention to the pesky little details. You will also notice that the more stable your life is, the better your outlook on the future will be.
Friday, August 5, 2022
The Moon moves through Scorpio and retriggers Uranus, Mars, and Saturn. Unresolved emotions from earlier in the week may resurface, so stay on guard. You may feel intense emotions throughout the day, but try not to let them influence any decisions you need to make. If self-doubt surfaces, push those thoughts away.
Saturday, August 6, 2022
The Moon moves into Sagittarius shortly after noon, and it’s the perfect day to go out and have some fun. It’s been a difficult two weeks, astrologically speaking, and it’s not over yet. You may want to spend time with people you enjoy and take a brief break from the real world. Do something fun and adventurous.
Sunday, August 7, 2022
The last day of the week brings us a conflict of conflicting aspects. We begin with Venus forming a lovely trine to Neptune. It’s not a great day for practical matters, because you may have a hard time staying focused. However, it is great for creative projects. But make sure you work on anything creative early, because this afternoon Mars squares Saturn in Aquarius. You may feel discouraged by life, and this could easily trigger your insecurities. It’s also easy to fall into a fear-based mindset, and this could make you feel ill at east with your life. While Mars is square Saturn, it’s recommended you take a deep look within and figure out what you want and need out of your life.
The astrology and horoscope forecast for the week of June 21, 2021 – June 27, 2021, features one of the most positive aspects of the year, Venus moving into Leo and Mercury finally turning direct in Gemini.
Can I get an AMEN?
Let’s begin with the cosmic weather event that occurred late on Sunday (in North America): The Sun moved out of Gemini and into Cancer and marked the official beginning of summer in the North Hemisphere and winter in the Southern Hemisphere.
As we move through Cancer season, we leave the airy mental heights of Gemini and dive into the waters of the sign of the crab. In astrology, water signs are nurturing, compassionate, empathic, craves connections and emotional reliability. So, Cancer season is about finding the emotional sustenance that we need, connecting with those we care about and building emotional reliability through those connections. Also, in the mystical kabbalah, Cancer is the sign associated with healing and removing disease (dis-ease) by clearing negative behavior patterns that may be blocking us from living the life we want to live.
Now, there is good news this Cancer season. Jupiter will be in the sign of Pisces and forms a sign-based trine to the Sun. Last year, during Cancer season, there was an aura of uncertainty, confusion, isolation, and despair hovering over everything during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. This year this has changed (even though we are still in the pandemic), and we will go through Cancer season looking forward to all the potentials and possibilities we can create in the future.
Now, on with the forecast…
Mercury Turns Direct in Gemini
Although Mercury turning direct in Gemini is not the best news of the week, it is right up there with it as Mercury changes course on June 22nd. During the first part of the week, expect another onslaught of communications problems, electronic devices acting up, and plans to go awry. However, as the week goes on, Mercury will slowly move forward. It’s a great time to clear up any communication problems, disagreements and attempt to repair any damage caused during the retrograde. You are also free to make plans and decisions once again.
Sun in Cancer trine Jupiter in Pisces
In astrology, the Sun trine Jupiter is one of the most favorable days of the year, so positive that it should provide somewhat of a protective shield from the worst of Venus oppose Pluto (although Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn may feel the effects of Venus square Pluto stronger).
The Sun and Jupiter are both fiery planets, and even though they are both in water signs, there is still a feeling of optimism, and our focus will be on future potentials and possibilities. Sun trine Jupiter is hopeful, which will be a pretty different attitude than the last couple of years when Saturn was in Capricorn and opposing the Sun, which can be a big downer. Also, this aspect augurs a time when you can take a risk or a gamble on pursuing new opportunities in your life. If you have been waiting for a great window of time to start something new, now is the time to act.
Full Moon in Capricorn
This week we have a Full Moon in earthy Capricorn, and we officially end eclipse season. Now, in astrology, the sign of Capricorn is not as glamorous as Leo or Sagittarius, nor is it as people-oriented as Libra or Aquarius.
Capricorn is an earth sign that is concerned with practical realities. So, during this Full Moon cycle, issues surrounding duties, obligations, and responsibilities will surface. The Capricorn Full Moon instructs us to look at how we utilize our practical resources (most importantly time and money) and look at whether our choices and decisions are adding to our lives or subtracting from it. Since Saturn rules Capricorn, you may need to look at your boundaries and limits and decide whether they are too rigid or too malleable. But mainly, this Full Moon cycle is about letting go of everything that is not adding to your successes in life.
Venus in Leo
Finally, on Saturday, Venus moves out of emotional Cancer and into fiery Leo.
One of my favorite moves is Grease with John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John, not because the movie was popular, but because the character of Sandy makes choices about love and pleasure.
In the movie, Sandy wants a serious relationship with Danny, the rebel hero of the film. Danny is part of the T-Birds, a group of oversexualized grease balls that shy away from commitment and responsibility and instead thrives on fun and sexual pleasures.
Sandy spends most of the movie trying to be acknowledged and respected by Danny but fails until she understands her desires, wants and needs, and can express her expectations. Once she discovers her value, she transforms into a siren with the powers to lure Danny and convince him (through song) to give her what she wants.
Sandy is a perfect image of Venus in Leo. While Venus is in Leo, we should focus on our wants and desires, our expectations of love relationships, and the value of being respected and acknowledged for who we are. After all, every queen (or king) deserves the best, and that includes you!

Finally, this weekend, you may find yourself knee-deep in beautifying your surroundings.
So, this week we have a powerful astrological aspect that will be active throughout 2019 – Jupiter in Sagittarius square Neptune in Pisces. This energy will affect us throughout the year, and it is one of the astrological backdrops to keep in mind.
Now, I am going to be blunt and say that I am concerned about this aspect, especially with the heavy Capricornian influence in the cosmos right now. Capricorn reflects the need to take responsibility for our lives – meaning we need to deeply look at what is happening in our lives, the choices, and decisions we made to get us to where we are currently (and this may involve swallowing some bitter pills), and the hard work necessary to get us to where we need to be. However, we often try to escape personal responsibility by casting blame on others, whether it be our bosses, our parents, the community we live in, the government, or opposing energies that are blocking us from getting what we want, and Jupiter square Neptune may add to our self-inflicted victimization.
One feature of Jupiter square Neptune is unbridled optimism. You know, the belief that there is a magical cosmic Santa Claus that is going to give us what we want, and even though we may wait and wait for it to happen magically, St. Nick is going to arrive, possibly at the 11th hour, and give us our miracle. The self-help movement calls this magical thinking, and although I’m a big supporter of using magic to achieve results, I also believe that magic requires effort and action on our part. We need to take control of our lives and be willing to do whatever it takes to get to where we want to be. Santa doesn’t cause miracles, we do.
This week we need to proactive use Jupiter square Neptune and have faith and inspiration in life, but we need to ground them by accepting reality. Rather than looking for a redeemer to fix our problems, struggles, and difficulties, we need to accept our current station in life and create viable strategies for improvement. Otherwise, the harsh reality that Santa doesn’t exist can lead us to depression and apathy. It’s time to rise above the perpetual victim mindset and become our own hero.
Now, on with the forecast…
Monday, January 7, 2019
This week starts off with Venus moving (finally) out of Scorpio and into fiery Sagittarius. After months of dredging the depths of your relationships, you will seek new opportunities to be inspired and intellectually stimulated. Sagittarius is the sign of the great adventure and while Venus is in the sign of the archer, discovering new potentials and possibilities will keep the relationship exciting. The more effort you put into exploring new things with your partner, the more your relationship will remain fresh. Venus remains in Sagittarius until February 4th.
Tuesday, January 8, 2019
You may need to watch your mouth on Tuesday because Mercury square Mars can lead the tongue into tense discussions and arguments. You may be irritated or frustrated by those around you, and you may feel the need to speak your mind, often regardless of the consequences. Try to hold off until the energy of Mercury-Mars has passed, which will be the beginning of next week.
Wednesday, January 9, 2019
The Moon spends the first half of the day in inventive Aquarius and forms an exciting sextile to Uranus. It’s a great day to do something different and think outside the box. The Moon will move into emotional Pisces mid-afternoon and forms a square to Venus. You may feel agitated by others, and it may be best to do something solitary during the evening hours.
Thursday, January 10, 2019
The Moon continues to move through Pisces throughout the day and forms opportunistic aspects to Mercury and Saturn. It’s a great day for creative work or doing anything artistically inclined. Later Thursday, the Moon conjoins Neptune, which is a powerful time to get in touch with your feelings.
Friday, January 11, 2019
On Friday, we have our third significant aspect of the week when the Sun makes its annual conjunction to Pluto. Use this energy to repair or transform anything that has broken down, including relationships. Sun-Pluto aspects allow you to dig deep beneath the surface and gives you the power to understand things on a deeper level. You can then use this insight to resolve problems or issues in your life. Additionally, avoid individuals that you feel are trying to control you.
The Weekend
Besides the Jupiter-Neptune square I previously discussed, Mercury will conjoin Saturn in Capricorn on Sunday.
You should approach this weekend with caution and may need to revise decisions you have previously made. Mercury conjunct Saturn is excellent for mental based work that requires accuracy and precision.
The problematic side of Mercury-Saturn is that you will have difficulty communicating or expressing yourself to others and you may need to push away negative self-talk at this time.
So, you might want to invest in a wetsuit and a snorkel because a flood of Neptunian proportions is coming. For the first time in several months, Neptune is the player of the week. Now for those of you that are not in the astrological know, Neptune rules idealisms, dreams, and the collective creative flow, but it can also reflect deceptions, dishonest behavior, and self-destructive tendencies – and with Jupiter, Neptune’s ruler, being in Sagittarius, the biggest form of deception may be the lies we tell ourselves.
You see, Sagittarius is about potentials and possibilities, and the energy of Sagittarius season can be childlike with deeply held beliefs regarding the way life should be. This can lead to problems because to win at life; you must come down to earth and live in the real world.
In the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous, there is a profound quote that is worth mentioning: “My serenity is inversely proportional to my expectations.” (pg. 452) I find this quote revealing because a frequent theme in my consultations involve unrealistic expectations and the hurt and disappointment that my clients feel when things do not turn out the way they imagined it would, which is what happens when Neptune’s energy is dominate.
Idealized expectations can be a toxic poison, especially in relationships. It strips our partners of their individuality, and they become projections of our expectations, and when real life encroaches – and it always does – we are left bitter and disillusioned because our life doesn’t turn out the way we expect it.
Be on guard this week for unrealistic expectations. If you find yourself upset, hurt, or disappointed in others, check to see if you developed expectations that may be based in fantasy rather than reality. Often feeling the deepest level of truth can lead you towards the happiness you deserve, but it also means allowing people to be who they are meant to be themselves.
Now on with the forecast…
Monday, December 3, 2018
The Moon moves through the last degrees of fair and balanced Libra and forms an opposition with Uranus. Someone else’s selfish behaviors may rile you up and make you tense and anxious. Try to keep from allowing others to steal your happiness and joy.
The Moon moves into Scorpio during the afternoon hours and forms a lovely conjunction to Venus. This evening is great to spend with a romantic partner or simply doing things that give you pleasure.
Tuesday, December 4, 1018
The Moon continues to move through Scorpio throughout the day and forms only positive aspects – a sextile to Saturn, a trine to Mars, and a trine to Neptune. Tuesday is great for business activities and putting together strategy plans. If you do creative work, the afternoon hours are when you will shine. Overall, this is one of the best days of the week, cosmically speaking.
Wednesday, December 5, 2018
On Wednesday, the Sun in Sagittarius will form a challenging square to Neptune in Pisces. You may feel that you have little energy and are overwhelmed by circumstances in your life right now. This could leave you feeling low on energy, and your self-confidence may be at an all-time low. Avoid taking on more than you can handle because you will have little power to achieve the results you desire.
A positive way to deal with Sun square Neptune is to do creative based or spiritually related activities. Maybe go to a movie, enjoy some good music, or a couple of meditation sessions could help relieve some of the Neptunian muddle and put you in a better mindset to tackle the rest of the of the week.
Thursday, December 6, 2018
Good News! Mercury goes direct on Thursday in Scorpio. So, all the things that you have put off until Mercury went direct, you can begin after 4:22 PM EST.
Mercury in Scorpio is about digging beneath the surface and getting to the root of the matter. It’s great for detective work, research, and solving problems that need a dash of intuitive finesse. Additionally, Mercury in Scorpio gives you the ability to understand the motives and intentions of those around you.
Mercury remains in the sign of the scorpion until December 12, 2018.
Friday, December 7, 2018
During the early morning hours, we have a New Moon in Sagittarius. Sagittarius New Moons are great for goal setting, and this is a great time to look at what you would like to achieve in 2019. The only hiccup is the New Moon in square to Neptune, which can often cloud matters. The way to manage this is to make sure your goals are realistic and achievable, even if you need to break them up into smaller blocks that motivate you to take on more until you achieve your goals intended results.
Also, on Friday, Mars conjoins Neptune in Pisces. Like earlier in the week when the Sun squared Neptune, this combination of planets makes us feel worn out, and as a result, we become easily discouraged and irritable. Do not plan anything of importance on Friday, if you can avoid it.
A productive use of Mars conjunct Neptune is to do something positive for others. This will help uplift your spirit and break any negative emotions you may be feeling. Not to mention, ‘tis the season.
The Weekend
The Moon spends the weekend in responsible Capricorn. Capricorn Moon’s are great for anything that requires focus, concentration, or a bit of extra effort. On Saturday, the Moon forms a lovely sextile to Venus, which is great for relationships. Spend some time with your significant other, perhaps a night on the town or even a movie will bring the two of you emotionally closer together. If you have creative tasks that need to get done before the holidays, Sunday would be a great time to get them done and out of the way.
So, for the past few weeks, we have had minimal amounts of astrological aspects to deal with, but this week makes up for it with six major aspects and two sign changes.
What a way to start the holiday season, right?
The major player this week is Mercury who continues to move backward in Sagittarius. Retrograde planets force us to analyze (re-analyze) what has worked for us in the past, and to decide what doesn’t. Mercury in Sagittarius is amplified because Sagittarius is one of the two signs that help us analyze our ideas and beliefs about life. As the week progresses, take note of the events that occur because they will be guideposts to help you decide what is best for your future. Mercury in Sagittarius allows you to have a solid plan of action as you prepare for the New Year.
Remember, we do not make changes while Mercury is retrograde, we make them when Mercury goes direct and out of shadow, which is on Christmas Day (December 25th).
Now, on with the forecast…
Monday, November 26, 2018
The week starts off with a pair of aspects that occur during the early morning hours – Sun conjunct Jupiter and Mercury retrograde square Mars.
Ordinarily, the Sun conjunct Jupiter is one of the most positive days of the year. This aspect expands how you view your life and gives you something to look forward to, but with Mercury and Mars in the mix, I am concerned.
Mercury square Mars tends to get involved in arguments and fights, and the more you need to stand up for your beliefs, the more forceful you will become. You may feel challenged by others, which may make you irritable. So, you could easily fly off the handle if someone annoys you too much, and you could easily react by taking them to task. It’s best not to take anything personal over the next few days. Additionally, Mercury square Mars is susceptible to accidents, so watch what you are doing carefully.
Tuesday, November 27, 2018
Tuesday brings us a whopping three aspects – Sun conjunct Mercury retrograde, Mars sextile Saturn, and Mercury retrograde conjunct Jupiter.
The hostile energy from Monday will continue to leak into Tuesday, so it might be best to avoid people as much as possible and focus on the positive energy that is available. First off, if you have projects that require an extra bit of effort, today would be a great day to tackle them. Any effort you put into anything you do will have a positive impact on your future. Otherwise, spend the bulk of your day looking at your big picture objectives because Mercury retrogrades power of reflection will uncover details you may have missed, which will help you feel better about your personal trajectory. On a good note, overall, Tuesday should be a good day.
Wednesday, November 28, 2018
The Moon moves through regal Leo on Wednesday but makes no aspects until the early morning on Thursday, which is a lovely sextile to Venus. It’s a good day to pamper yourself and do something enjoyable. Later this evening, you may want to have a date night with your significant other or children. If you are single, put your feet up and relax a little; after all, you deserve it.
Thursday, November 29, 2018
Thursday is another lunar day, but the Moon will move out of Leo and into practical Virgo. You may find it difficult to stay focused on your activities with the Moon-forming difficult aspects to Mercury and Jupiter through mid-afternoon. Mercury will distract you and Jupiter would rather do something fun, so tasks and responsibilities may be difficult to manage. Thursday evening would be good for a night in because the lunar aspects continue to be challenging.
Friday, November 30, 2018
Friday brings us one of the most difficult days of the year for relationships with Venus in opposition to Uranus.
Venus-Uranus aspects are notorious for breakups. If your relationship is on rocky ground, then you may want to stay alert. You see, this aspect brings up your personal (or your partners) ambivalence and even the best of relationships get stale from time to time, but the default mode of this aspect is to focus on the behaviors of your partner and how they are not fulfilling your needs, rather than admit your own boredom. So, unresolved tensions easily rise to the surface that may cause disappointments, and for many, the need to be free of your relationship.
The key to working with Venus oppose Uranus constructively is to bring new elements into your relationship so it is exciting again. Do something to break up the monotony of day-to-day living. A little fun and enjoyment is often the most powerful love potion for struggling relationships.
The Weekend:
This weekend both Mercury and Venus move into Scorpio. These sign changes present us with an opportunity to peak under the veil of your life and see things for how they are rather than the false constructs you create in your mind. Otherwise, the weekend should go rather smoothly with the Moon moving through Libra, and it is a great time to get holiday shopping out of the way.
