20 Types of Psychic Readings

20 typesAre you confused about what type of psychic reading would be best for you?  You are not alone!   Many new callers have a hard time sorting through all the advisors on Keen.com to find one that they feel can help them with their questions about the future.

In most cases, it is a language barrier.   What is the difference between a clairvoyant and a medium?   Is there any similarity between tarot and the i-ching?  To make this easier for you, we have compiled a list of the top 20 types of psychic readings.

  • Astrology – Some people believe that astrology is just “that column”
in the New York Times that you read for fun.   After all, it should apply to everyone that is a particular sign, right?   Not exactly – a chart that is drawn up for your time and place of birth reveals the energies and potentials you were born with.  An astrologer can predict the current trends in your life based upon where the planets in the heavens are currently and compare them to where they were when you were born.   Out of all the psychic tools, Astrology is probably the best when timing is of importance to you.
  • Aura Readings – The human body has an outer organ called “the skin” that acts as a physical shield so that the inner organs are not damaged.  Likewise, the energy field that radiates from the skin outward is called an ‘auric field’ (or simply an aura) that protects the physical body from psychic or spiritual damage.   A trained psychic that specializes in aura readings can gain information about you by tapping into this energy field.  The field contains your memories, symbolic images, and energies that belong to others – such as friends, family members, and even enemies.   An aura reading can help you get in touch with your own energy, and help you release blocks that are preventing your spiritual or emotional growth.
  • Cartomancy – The current deck of cards we use to play rummy or poker arrived on the European scene in the 14th century.  Playing cards were all the rage amongst the wealthy, those of noble origins, and the elite who used them for fun and gambling.  Moreover, the playing cards were also used to reveal the future to those who sought out their advice.   The cards are assigned meanings by the reader to reflect various aspects of the individual’s life using ‘spreads’ that revealed the past, present, and future.   Cartomancy’s popularity increased during the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries into a sophisticated method of fortune telling.   In the 21st century, cartomancy has experienced resurgence and has evolved into many oracle and angel decks that are experiencing enormous popularity.
  • Cleromancy – The act of acting lots is over 4,000 years old.  It appears frequently in the Judeo-Christian bible, and is even an act commanded by God in the book of Leviticus (Leviticus 16:8).   Today, cleromancy is mainly executed by throwing bones, stones, or dice.  A cleromancer then analyzes the position, orientation, and mutual proximity of the objects cast.
  • Clairvoyant – Clairvoyant means clear seeing.  Psychics that utilize this skill have the ability to see images or visions that are related to the individual’s life.  Clairvoyants can tap into the energy system of the client and see the past, present, and future.   The modern understanding of the word psychic is often synonymous for clairvoyant.
  • Psychometry – Psychometry is very similar to clairvoyance except that the psychometrist usually uses an article that belongs to the client in order to tape into their unique vibration.   In some cases, psychics that specialize in psychometry will use their own objects to receive information.
  • Remote Viewing – Remote viewing is a specialized clairvoyant skill that allows the psychic to travel “psychically” to another location to describe a scene or event.   Once the psychic is in the location they can read the past, present, and future of that location.  Remote viewing is frequently used by psychic investigators to describe crime scenes and how crimes happen.  Further, it is used in past life regression sessions so that the psychic can reveal the clients past lives to them through the images they receive.
  • Crystal Ball Readings – Chrystal Ball Readings are similar to clairvoyant readings and psychometry.   It is psychometric because it involves the use of an object.   The trained crystal ball reader will see images or visions through the use of their crystal ball.   This skill is often used in Hollywood representations of psychics because it is an excellent prop they can use the convey information on the screen.
  • Clairaudience – Clairaudience is clear hearing.  A psychic who is clairaudient will receive information through sounds.   The audio information may be either symbolic or literal.   In both cases, the clairaudient is able to interpret the meaning of the sounds to the client.
  • Channeling – Channeling is often confused with mediumship (more          on mediums below); however both are very different forms of psychic communications.  All channels have the gift of clairaudience, yet the channel has a unique ability to access audio frequencies and receive information from disembodied beings such as spirit guides or angels.   The channel will convey the ‘messages’ to the client.  In addition, channels will often serve as facilitators to assist clients to access their own higher guidance.   Automatic writing is a form of channeling.
  • Mediumship – Since the turn of the century, the most popular form of psychic advice has come in the forum of mediumship.  Simply put, a medium is a psychic that can communicate with loved ones that have passed on to the other side.  Gifted mediums can provide clients with the closure they need to move forward with their lives, yet still feel connected to those they love.   Additionally, many mediums are also channels which allow them to connect to high level spiritual beings that convey spiritual messages to clients.
  • Telepathy – A telepath is a psychic who can receive psychic transmission based on thought patterns.   There are several different types of telepathy including latent, precognitive, and emotive.  Despite the difference in the labels, each type of telepathy receives its information from thought patterns (called PSI).   Telepath’s can reveal what someone’s thoughts are in the past, present, and future.
  • Clairsentient – Clairsentient means ‘clear feeling’.   Out of all the psychic skills, clairsentience is the broadest. For many, clairsentience is the ability to feel emotions and atmosphere around an experience, event, or individual.   For others, it is the ability to feel information by touching an object (see psychometry).   Often, a clairsentient is consulted to help heal and release past emotional traumas by helping the client come to terms with suppressed emotions.
  • Empath – An empath is an individual that can feel and control another person’s emotions or emotional state.
  • Lithomancy – Lithomancy is the psychic art of reading stones (gemstones and crystals) by tossing them down and analyzing their patterns based upon location, orientation, and proximity.   Lithomancers use a quadrant map and the meanings of the stones to predict the future to the client.
  • I-ching – An ancient Chinese oracle that reveals spiritual based messages by tossing either coins or yarrow sticks on a table to form a trigram.   The trigram is then applied to the client’s life providing them with additional insight into their past, present, and future.
  • Palmistry – The art of characterization and foretelling the future through the study of the palm.
  • Rune Readings – Runes are an ancient alphabet used for divining the future.  The runes are cast on a mat to discern future events or path a problem or issue will manifest.
  • Numerology – Numerology is the study of numbers and how they apply to an individual’s life.   This is done in many ways – either through the name given at birth, the current name used, or the client’s birthdate.   Like astrology and the constant shift of the planets, numbers also shift revealing future insight into a client’s life.
  • Tarot Readings – Tarot exploded in popularity during the 1960’s when author Eden Gray’s paperback book was released to market.   Her book contained modernized meanings to the Rider Waite Smith deck that was produced earlier in the century.  Since then, numerous tarot decks have been produced are one of the most popular items at New Age shops around the world.   The Tarot is a system of 78 cards that are used in many different ways to gain insight into an individual’s life.   Tarot readers (called Tarotists) use spreads to assign particular lenses through which the reader interprets the card.

These are just the top 20 types of psychic readings.  I will explore many of their uses and other types of readings in future blogs.

Being Diplomatic Will Get You What You Want Until Dec 9th And I Can Tell You Why

So, Mars is the fighter planet.

His job in the horoscope is to go out into the world and get you what you want.

We all need a Mars. I mean imagine what life would be like if we didn’t have one.  Nobody would win, nobody would have desire, and most importantly, you couldn’t make your life what you want.

Sounds dismal, doesn’t it?

Thankfully, Mars gives us the need to win, have desires, and gives us the ability to make of our lives what we want.  Mars is the planet that represents the human fighting spirit. After all, the world can be a hostile place and we need to defend ourselves in pretty much every area of life.  Mars defends our right to be separate individuals with our own individual essence, and this is necessary for us to feel whole.

Perhaps the biggest expression of Mars is our ability to say ‘no’, and to have the strength to set boundaries that protect our individual rights and values.  And, although this can lead to initial conflict (it is Mars, and other people have wants and desires as well), over time it leads to inner harmony and peace because we have defended our space.

On October 22, Mars will move out of Virgo and into Libra where he will remain until December 9th.

Now, the reason I described Mars so thoroughly is that Mars is in detriment in Libra.  This means that the natural energy associated with Libra – harmony, balance, and cooperation – are not aligned naturally with Mars.  So, Mars is a bit insecure in Libra.

Mars in Libra is extremely refined.  He is not the hairy, sweaty, and bloodthirsty God from the Iliad.  He is gracious, considerate, and is more like a social worker or a life coach than a football player.  While Mars is in the sign of the scales, it’s more beneficial for us to pursue goals that put other people in mind, but keeps our values and individual expression intact.  Mars in Libra is not about giving up your personal power; it’s about allowing others to express theirs as well. However, you will notice if you are giving your power away when you become frustrated, depressed, or angry, which is easily resolved by negotiating the areas of your life where you feel defeated because regardless of the sign Mars is in, he still needs to win on some level.

In Libra, Mars is also inspired by the approval and feedback of others. Libra is a sign about relationships so having others that will fight by our side spawns just as much initiation as doing things on our own. With Libra, everyone wins – at least a little.

You catch more flies with honey than with vinegar” — unknown

Some dates to note during the Mars in Libra cycle:

November 19 – Mars square Pluto – With Mars being in Libra, the square to Pluto may signify a period where you are more sensitive to giving up your personal power to others.  This could be with another individual or a group.  You may need to stand your ground and maintain your boundaries even if it is uncomfortable.  Now is also the time to avoid trying to override someone else’s boundaries.   Treat them with the same respect that you would like to be treated yourself.

December 1 – Mars oppose Uranus – If there are areas of your life where you are having difficulties saying no or difficulties putting boundaries in place, Mars opposed Uranus will bring them to the surface.  An opposition implies conflict innately, and this aspect usually brings forth battles with people that you feel are holding you back. There may be a need for you to liberate yourself from people that are oppressing yo but do so with proactive rather than reactive means.  Avoid acting impulsively now because you will regret any future backlash.

December 12 – Mars sextile Mercury and Saturn – Mars will form harmonious aspects to Mercury and Saturn.  This is great energy to get things done and negotiate deals.  Further, with Mercury being retrograde in Sagittarius (he goes retrograde on December 3rd) it’s an excellent time to renegotiate circumstances that are not working for you.

Fight the good fight.

Relationship Problems? Let Me Tell You Why This Week Can Resolve Them. Finally!

Cosmic Weather Forecast — October 15 – October 21

So, this month’s New Moon in Libra is all about relationships.

And, I’ve got some good news for you…

With Venus, the ruler of Libra, being in her sign of Libra, it’s a great week to set things on the right course, and this New Moon is a powerful catalyst to putting your relationships on the right path.  New relationships are favored now and have a high chance of succeeding under the New Moon’s favorable gaze.

Additionally, this week, Mercury moves into probing Scorpio.  Mercury in Scorpio is like your private detective because you are now able to see problems lurking beneath the surface, and you can get to the root of the issues.  This will give you the ability to solve problems more effectively because you can understand the motives and intentions of others.

In other astrological news, this week is not only good for relationships; business is favored as well.  With the Sun sextiling Saturn on Monday and Mercury conjoining Jupiter on Wednesday, it’s an amazing time to get things done and see the big picture necessary to take things to the next level.

The only hiccup this week is Uranus forming difficult aspects to Mercury and the Sun. In order to work with Uranus positively, it’s necessary to explore your horizons, do something different, shake things up, and not react rigidly to changes as they arise.  Otherwise, you may feel nervous and anxious, leading to reactive emotions.  And, that’s a color that doesn’t look good on anyone.

Jupiter In Scorpio

Jupiter in Scorpio

“Does this mean we are going to have tons of more sex?” My client asked me without blinking an eye.

I mean what do you say to that, even if the ‘king of the gods’ is going to move into Scorpio?

But, I found it interesting that the client asked me this on the same date that the Harvey Weinstein story blew up.

Sex. Sex. Sex.  It’s become a national obsession!

Now, onto the meat…. (no pun intended)

On Tuesday, October 10, 2017,  Jupiter moves out of the love and relationship sign of Libra and dives in deep into Scorpio.

And, to answer my client’s question, sex is a part of it.

However, I think we need to realize that sex is the ULTIMATE form of intimacy that two people can share, and it strikes us on several levels – the physical, the emotional, and the biological.  Sex feels good, it allows us to feel close to another individual, and it is the driving force of procreation (well mostly).

Now, tons of adjectives are used to describe the planet Jupiter – improvement, enrichment, futuristic, expansive, generous, benevolent, and optimistic.  All of this can be summed up as our need to renew faith in life.

Life just happens – we go through experiences, and we deal with difficult and upsetting circumstances, but luckily, we have a cosmic “Dr. Feel Good” mechanism that comes to the rescue to make life a little bit better.

While Jupiter is in Scorpio, the areas of life that are going evoke Jupiter are encounters with the emotional depths, which is psychological code for emotional involvement with others.   Each encounter (even the sexual ones), despite their trivialities, provide us with meaning and purpose.

Let me give you an example:

I recently had a client who went through difficulties in a romantic relationship.  Her partner was constantly ghosting her, and she didn’t understand why he was doing it.  Well, she eventually found out he had ailing parents and didn’t want her to be burdened by it.  Despite her being conflicted about it or hurt because he hadn’t revealed his parental issues with her, she realized that he put others needs before his own, and she valued this characteristic in a partner.  This is how Jupiter operates in Scorpio.  He reveals to us the deeper level of the situation than what is apparent on the surface.

As Jupiter moves through Scorpio, he expands the energies of the sign he transits – for good or ill.  Over-emotional sensitivities are heightened, and so are our instinctual responses.  Jupiter brings out the best in people or the worst, yet beneath each experience, we will understand the complexities of life and glimpse a more optimistic future.

How Jupiter in Scorpio Will Influence You

Below I give you the tea on how Jupiter will influence all the astrological signs.  This guide gives you an area of focus on how to work with this energy in your life over the next year.   You can read this for your sign, and if you know your rising sign, I would suggest you reading that description as well.

Aries:  This year Jupiter begins its yearlong transit through your solar 8th house.  The 8th house is similar to the 11th and the 12th and has a rather mysterious and confusing aura around it. Traditionally, Jupiter in the 8th is associated with death, inheritance, and taxes and I have seen these descriptions to be relatively true.  Jupiter in the 8th can mean you will receive an inheritance or an unexpected tax refund.  But, what does this house really mean?  After 25 years of doing astrology, I am convinced that the 8th house has to do with inheritance, but not just financially; it reflects our psychological inheritance as well.  While Jupiter is transiting through the 8th house, issues from the past that may need healing will rise to the surface, and the healing of past familial trauma begins.  This can come from powerful changes or psychological wounds, yet these changes will be to your ultimate benefit.  On the more mundane level, this is a great time to begin a business partnership or apply for loans because Jupiter in the 8th makes it easy for people to share their resources with you.

Taurus:  Jupiter begins its yearlong transit through your solar 7th house.  The 7th house is associated with partnerships, marriage, competitors, and legal matters.  Perhaps it would be creative to define it as the ‘world out there’ or the ‘not you’ house because it describes your relationship to people in general.  Jupiter transits through the 7th can increase your relationships and expand your experiences of society by widening your sphere of influence.  Jupiter is great for business alliances in which your partnerships are mutually beneficial.  Of course, Jupiter influences your love relationships by being a favorable influence.  Any difficulties experienced in your relationships should be smoothed out or resolved during this cycle.  Finally, the 7th house also pertains to legal matters.  Any legal issues (especially civil cases) should resolve in your favor since Jupiter casts a protective shield over any house he influences.

Gemini: Jupiter begins its yearlong transit through your solar 6th house.  The 6th house pertains to your job, day to day activities, your rituals, health, and your responsibilities.  Of course, this can be rather drab and far from exciting for the king of the gods, yet it is one of the houses we see enormous benefits.  Jupiter likes to expand your consciousness and provide a ‘higher’ meaning to the day to day grind of the 6th house, which on its deepest level refers to your house of personal growth.  This is a great year for you to put your life in order and you will notice an improvement in your job, satisfaction with your responsibilities and overall good health. In fact, do not be surprised if you take on additional responsibilities because people will be pleased with your performance.  Further, Jupiter in the 6th could signify new job opportunities and promotions for a job well done. However, there is one warning with Jupiter in the 6th,  Jupiter expands the house it transits, and since the 6th house represents your health and the physical world, there could be a tendency to gain weight.  It would be a good idea to maintain a regular fitness regime and balanced diet at this time.

Cancer:  Jupiter begins its yearlong transit through your solar 5th house.  The next year for you is going to focus on personal growth and expansion of who you are as an individual.  You will begin to understand your life with greater wisdom, and despite past frustrations, will perceive the big picture.  Your creative juices will flow like never before, and if you are artistically inclined, financial gain is likely through your craft.  Since the 5th house rules children, your relationship with your own (if you have them) will take center stage and a deeper emotional bond will naturally occur.  Finally, your relationships with others around you will go through great improvement throughout the year.  As you tear down walls and barriers and begin to express yourself with courage and tenacity, you will notice the important people around you responding favorably.

Leo:  Jupiter begins its yearlong transit through your solar 4th house.  The 4th house is mysterious because it rules our private parts – our innermost self and governs our home, family, personal life, and our past.  While Jupiter is transiting your solar 4th, you may find the need to seek inner peace and meaning.  In the outer world, this is a year to focus on real estate – whether that is purchasing a new home or doing repairs and renovations.  Further, you will find your relationship with your family enhanced and Jupiter’s benefic influence will provide an opportunity to resolve old unresolved family issues or feuds.  On the inner level, Jupiter moving through the 4th is a cycle of personal focus.  It is a natural time to withdraw from the outer world and its trappings and focus on creating a secure future.  If we do not have a secure inner world of peace and harmony, it is going to be difficult for you to find happiness in the outer world.

Virgo:  Jupiter begins its yearlong transit through your solar 3rd house of communication.  In most textbooks delegate the third house to govern over communication, early education, and siblings.  However, after working with charts for the past 25 years, I have come to understand the 3rd house as the place in the horoscope where we process our experiences.  In fact, I believe one of the most undervalued resources we have are the experiences felt via the events, circumstances, and people we have encountered that helps formulate who we are as individuals.  While Jupiter is in the 3rd, the ‘social butterfly’ will emerge and the number of people in your social circle will expand.  This transit provokes an enormous urge to learn and express yourself to others to formulate your unique opinions about life.  Further, because you need to experience more of the world to expand your consciousness, a return to school, taking a trade course, or expanding our education is likely.   A mind is a terrible thing to waste, and with Jupiter transiting the 3rd, you are likely to find it working overtime.

Libra:  Jupiter begins its yearlong transit through your value oriented 2nd house.  In traditional astrology, the 2nd house governs money and resources.   In modern astrology, money and resources are viewed as symbols of what you value.  I have long believed that the most powerful book of revelation is a checkbook.  Your financial ledgers provide you with clear and concise information about what you truly value because it reveals where we spend our money.  This is not to say that Jupiter in the 2nd house will not expand your resources; it will.  In fact, it will expand everything that you give value to – the good, the bad, and the ugly.  Since the 2nd house does involve financial resources, this is a great time for investments.  However, you have to be careful with Jupiter in the 2nd house not to overindulge, overspend, or mismanage your money.  This placement can often lead to spending money that you may not have.  In the case of the 2nd house, too much of anything can be as harmful as not enough.

Scorpio:  This is your lucky year because Jupiter will transit through your personal oriented 1st house.  Doors that have been closed and opportunities that have been denied will open up for you with minimal effort throughout the year.  The main thing for you to focus on this being a major cycle of growth combined with an opportunity to express who you are by shining (and sharing) your inner light.  Further, you will notice that people are drawn to you like never before (or at least since 2003) and are more than willing to help you achieve success.  Use your increased self-confidence and charisma to your advantage.  Moreover, do not waste this year, Christmas in the astrological world only happens once every 12 years, and this year Santa delivers the presents to you.

Sagittarius:  Jupiter begins its yearlong transit through your solar 12th house.  Out of all the houses of the horoscope, the 12th house may be the most confusing.  Traditional astrology has labeled it the house of self-undoing and its association with hospitals and prisons always raise a curious eyebrow or two.  In modern astrology, the 12th house reflects the patterns, drives, and compulsions that operate beneath the level of conscious awareness, but not in the personal sense, yet those habits and dysfunctions which have been passed down from generation to generation.  Jupiter in the 12th can be a blessing or a curse. On one hand, this transit augurs a time when one begins (often for the first time) to see their inner truth.  Circumstances, situations, and events begin to have meaning and one begins to acquire insight into their lives.  Often this opens the doors to a spiritual journey of self-discoveries.  On the other hand, Jupiter’s transit represents where we begin to seek the truth and in the 12th house, the truth lies within oneself.  If one does not have the inner courage or current capabilities, one will seek “their” truth through escapism – sex, drugs, alcohol, gambling, food or any other reckless behavior.  Simply put, Jupiter in the 12th house is a year for you to do inner work and access the real you.

Capricorn:  Jupiter begins its yearlong transit through your solar 11th house.  Traditional astrology has described the 11th house as clubs, friends, hopes and wishes and like the 12th house, these descriptions are often not helpful.  In many ways, the 11th house reflects your need to be bigger than who you are and to strive towards improving your life.  You will do this through becoming involved with individuals beyond your familial structure.  Your friends, associates and like-minded individuals fulfill these requirements and assist you by providing networks to encourage your success.  Jupiter in the 11threflects a cycle where your social circle can assist you in achieving your hopes and wishes for the future. In fact, you will notice the need to change your world for the better with Jupiter transiting this social house.  In most cases, the changes you make will also benefit those around you significantly, and your goals will be achieved.  Finally, Jupiter is the planet of expansion, and you will notice your social circle and sphere of influence expand over the next year.

Aquarius:  Jupiter begins its yearlong transit through your solar 10th house.  In astrology, the 10thhouse describes our careers and position in the world.  Jupiter transiting this house is considered favorable, improves and increases your reputation and often prompts you to be all that you can be.  During this cycle, you can take advantage of Jupiter’s benefic energy to advance your career, begin new businesses, or receive long-deserved recognition for your accomplishments.  If you have struggled to get to the next level, this year could be your breakthrough. However, it is necessary to avoid being overbearing, dictatorial and keep your ego in check because problems could occur at the end of the transit if others perceive a haughty attitude.  Finally, you can expect to see promotions at work, financial increase, and an inner self-confidence while Jupiter transits this house.

Pisces:  This year Jupiter begins his yearlong transit through your solar 9th house.  For you, this is a great position because Jupiter naturally rules the 9th house. Your desire to learn is magnified as Jupiter transits the house normally associated with higher education.  Your learning experiences will broaden your mind and your perspective, and things will change and mature.  This transit is associated with wisdom because your quest to learn will often give you deep insight into aspects of your life that you have either ignored or found trivial. Often when this transit is active, interest in the arcane sciences, religion or philosophy are typical because interest in esoteric and teleological subjects reflect the need to expand your worldview.  Finally, you may find yourself interested in foreign cultures or taking vacations to foreign lands to broaden your experience.  The one thing to expect while Jupiter transits your 9th house is that your view of life will change and always for the better.

Astrological Forecast for Libra 2017!

Welcome to Libra Season

Why do we need a crisis to change?

I’ve thought about this a lot, and believe me; I am just as guilty as anyone else.

We all seem to coast through life when there is no conflict.  It’s like nothing in the world is going to affect us, and we are just going with the flow.

Then, all hell breaks loose, and the entire world comes crashing down around us.

And, that my friends, is the energy of the month of Libra this year.

Now, I am not someone that believes that we should just stick our heads in the sand.  Instead, it’s time for us to get to work!

So, let’s roll up our sleeves and do this.

The chart for the month of Libra – despite its difficulties is rather instructive.  Its primary focus is on our insecurities setting our reality.

As many of you know, I start ingress charts with the 4th house because I believe it describes the emotional weather forecast for the month, and its energy can completely dominate a chart.

The sign of Taurus sits on the 4th house cusp.  The sign of Taurus is conservative and does not like change.  It likes to protect its territory and security and foundation is very important to the sign of the bull.  It signifies that the next month is going to involve focusing on the ‘basic ground’ that matters to us.

Saturn makes an interesting aspect to the 4th house cusp – an inconjunct.  Inconjuncts are aspects of crisis (they correspond with the 6th and 8th houses).  Saturn sits in the group-oriented 11th house and rules the 12th (self-undoing) and the 1st.  Saturn signifies that outside influences could frustrate our sense of security, and we may need to let go of some things that we have been holding onto, which is not going to make Taurus all that happy. Taurus likes to hold onto EVERYTHING.  However, Saturn also questions whether what we are holding onto is based upon a real desire or because of our insecurities.

The ruler of Taurus – Venus – sits in the 7th house in Virgo.  Venus in the 7th house gives us our first clue on how to deal with Taurus:  How do we manage (Virgo is a lovely management sign) our day to day lives and how are we participating in our relationships.

I mean how often do we look at these things?

I am often amazed when I talk to people that they consider these things when they are going through struggles and difficulties.  I think it’s universal, we start to think about managing our time more effectively or who in our life has meaning to us.  We start to think about whether our careers are sustaining us or whether we should spend a little less.  The main thing is that we attempt to bring order into our lives.

Venus forms a conjunction to Mars, which rules the 3rd house of communication.  This conjunction reflects that we may need to communicate what we want more effectively, and this dovetails into Venus’s opposition to Neptune, which means that we may not necessarily be in touch with our real values.  So, this gives us another clue – what do we currently value in our lives?  What is important?

The next part of the ingress chart that I analyze is the Ascendant.  The Ascendant reveals the path we are going to take over the next month.

The sign of Capricorn is rising.  Capricorn is about ambition and how we are going to achieve something in the world.  When the sign of the goat is rising, our focus is on giving our lives some form of meaning where we feel that we are participating and adding something to our lives.

There is nothing wrong with this, and in fact, its encouraged.   The difficulty with it this month is the Moon and Uranus square the Ascendant.  The Moon signifies changes and Uranus signifies disruption, which can easily lead to being sensitive to obstacles and feelings of frustration.  This is complicated by Saturn (the ruler of Capricorn) being in the 11th house.  Saturn in the 11th likes to do things alone and often has difficulties reaching out and accepting help from others, and since Mercury forms a square to Saturn, this energy is amplified because the aspect is not known for its communication savvy.  In fact, Mercury square Saturn often leads to feelings of depression and insecurities.

Now, let’s get to the Sun in Libra.

The Sun in Libra likes harmony and balance.  In the sign of the scales, the Sun is considered in detriment, and the reason is that Libra is the sign of the ‘other,’ which causes our focus to be on our relationships, partnerships, competitors, and even our open enemies.

The Sun is in the 8th house and makes no aspects.  I recently attended a webinar by Liz Greene on Pluto, and she described planets that are unaspected in the best way that I have ever heard.  She said, and I paraphrase, that these planets are like tenants tied up in a basement.  They have little contact with the outside world, and once they are trigged (by something or somebody – italics mine), they tend to burst out into consciousness and often in ways that throw us into crisis, which I find rather fitting with this Sun hidden in the dark of the 8th house.

The Sun’s purpose in the chart is to encourage us to grow.  Now, we have a choice.  We can look inside and do this on our own, or the will set up circumstances that will force us to grow in one-way other another.  I think it is encouraging us to take a deep look at what is going on in our lives right now, and make changes accordingly – especially if we are dissatisfied with the current state of our lives.  We can use this Libra season to make active changes in our lives and begin to get on the right path.

In other words, happiness is an option!

The Universe Has Your Back:

I pulled a card from Gabrielle Bernstein’s new deck, “The Universe Has Your Back,” to help us with Libra season.  I find it self-explanatory.

Journal Prompts:

What am I holding onto because I feel insecure about letting it go?

What do I currently value in my life?

Should I reach out to others for help?

Am I being plagued by negative thoughts?

Do I feel stuck and blocked by outer circumstances?

What can I do to move my life in the direction I would like it to go?  What changes can I make to feel in control of my life?

See you next month!

The Astrology of 2017

Did your 2016 turn out the way you expected it to?

I will admit that it kind of shocked me, even though I went into it knowing that with Saturn being in square to Neptune that everything would not be as it seems.

Bernie Sanders brought us the Berners and the Bernie Bros.

Hillary Clinton brought us all those nasty women.

Britain has given us Brexit.

Reagan McNeil has come back to our screens now played by Gina Davis in the television series “The Exorcist.”

And, shocker, Donald Trump was elected President of the United States.

As Voltaire stated, “we live in curious times and astonishing contrasts.”

Last year, I discussed at length the need for us to wait things out with patience and not take any form of significant action, and this remains true while this aspect is active through much of 2017.   There will still be an urge to build new structures and dissolve old ones.  For many, needing to accept the challenge of taking control of our own lives will be paramount to finding a more creative dimension to this aspect than seeking ‘redeemers’ to attempt to fix life for us, but with the latest headlines, it’s hard to imagine whether that is possible.  It’s hard to reconcile a square aspect between Saturn and an outer planet, and our quest to find redemption or a figurehead Messiah will most likely continue to be projected an external figure to provide us with security and structure, even though these are personal issues that can only be resolved within.

I am going to begin this blog a little differently than I normally start a yearly forecast.  Rather than get to the nitty gritty, which I normally do, I am going to start first by painting in broad strokes and then attempt to filter this down to the personal.

Why?

I have had several of the readers of my website and the listeners of my radio show write to me over the course of the last several months trying to make sense of what is happening in the world.  Many are scared and frightened, and several others are concerned about the trajectory our world is taking whether it be political, economically, or ecologically based.

So, I am going to try to provide a bit of insight.  Not in the usual way of exposing my political bias (and we all have one) or attempting to vilify or make an enemy of collective figures – because they all live inside of us.  Instead, I am going to try to offer some collective insight into the energies that are percolating; if we really want to master and control our outer world, then we must start by controlling our inner one.

I’ll begin with a map that was created by Gret Jung, who was Carl Jung’s daughter and I first encountered this map in the early 90’s from reading a book by Liz Greene called Outer Planets and Their Cycles, which I recommend to anyone who can find themselves a reasonably priced copy.

This map is tricky, and I agree with Liz Greene’s assessment that it’s hard to tell what age we are in and what constitutes an age or how long one actually is.

There are a few noticeable things that I can mention.  During the Arian age, which allegedly ran from about -2000BC to 0, the concept of deity moved from the agricultural realms of the Great Mother Goddess and into a more humanized version of the Greek Gods.  The focus moved from the fields, living off the land, and natural survival and shifted to the building of the city-state and a more patriarchal society.

Then around the year 0 – 2000 (?) we were in the Piscean age, which we can all recognize with the Christian religious imagery that has existed up till now – fish, fishermen, and the redemptive themes of sin vs. salvation.

Whether or not we have entered into the Aquarian age is questionable, and there may be a several hundred year bleeding process in which we can still see the remnants of one age and the formation of another.  We do see technological advancement at an extremely rapid rate coupled with mass information and the popularity of the internet as valid points for the Aquarian age.  We can also see the opposite sign of Aquarius manifesting through our quest for self-improvement and inward focus with a dose of lovely terms such as ‘inner child’ work in the sign of Leo.  However, none of these factors can clearly discern whether or not we have changed ages.

For the sake of this article, I am going to use a chart that does use Aquarius rising, which would reflect our being in an Aquarian age.  The planetary house placements do not change, and I do feel that planetary energies trump where a planet lands in the chart.  For me, house placements just reveal what stage in life that the planets will be enacted on.

Let’s begin with the astrological holdovers from last year.  There are two:  Saturn in Sagittarius square Neptune in Pisces and Uranus in Aries square Pluto in Capricorn.

The transit of Saturn and Neptune made itself rather apparent in the 2016 election cycle.  For many, both Bernie Sanders and Donald Trump successfully tapped into this planetary cycle, which seeks a redeemer figure to heal us of our collective suffering.  Saturn-Neptune is messianic and although Sanders and Trump were hooks for this pairing of planets, it was ultimately Donald Trump with his bombastic attitude and political promise of “being the one” that resonated with at least 49% of the American population, and an electoral college win (Hillary Clinton did win the popular vote by almost 3 million).   These same elements could be seen in Brexit where the British people voted to leave the European Union without even considering what that ‘exit’ entirely means.

As I wrote last year, Saturn and Neptune are mortal enemies.  The two planets have little in common, and one of them is ultimately going to get projected.   If you side with Saturn, you are going to find the fairy tale Neptunian vision of a particular utopian flavor dressed up in slogans such as, ‘a future to believe in,’ ‘we are going to start a political revolution,’ or “make America great again,” suspicious or a pipe dream.  Saturn wants structure and foundation and potentials rooted in collective yearning can seem disingenuous or childish.   If you side with Neptune, the establishment and everything it represents is corrupt, evil, tainted with sin, and must be dissolved and replaced with a savior figure who can fix all the problems that the establishment has caused, which has resulted in human suffering.

Starting to sound a bit familiar, doesn’t it?

For the moment, Neptune seems to have won the battle over the Saturnian establishment, but it comes with a price, and that is hopelessness if the messianic figure cannot live up to the expectations of the collective and Neptunian expectations are often very high.

This transit, although technically over, will still be within orb throughout 2017.   In Gret Jung’s chart, Saturn is currently transiting the 10th house of government and social structures and Neptune is now moving through the 1st.  Neptune in the 1st house is often seen as the ‘victim’ in a personal chart, and it will be interesting to see what occurs once the fog of Saturn-square-Neptune begins to fade.  Will Trump or the British government be able to solve the problems of those that voted for these types of changes or will they morph into the next Saturnian structure system?  In the latter case, this can often lead to blowback, and it will be interesting to see what the next election will bring – so, pay attention to the midterm elections in the United States.

Saturn and Neptune did not work alone in recent world events.  Another transit that has been around for almost 7 years need to also be considered – Uranus square Pluto.

I have written at length about this aspect.  At times, I feel that I will write about it for several years to come because it seems to be a “seed level” point that erupts over and over andv it feeds into other aspects and the roots of the current transit of Uranus and Pluto actually began in the 60’s.

There is something curious that happened with this aspect that seemed to crack something in the collective that has yet to be resolved.  Perhaps, it will not be resolved until the next Uranus-Pluto conjunction, which occurs in 2100.  Right now, we are experiencing the first square to that conjunction that took place in the sign of Virgo.

The sign of Virgo get’s a lot of bad press.  It’s not nearly as glamorous as Leo and doesn’t involve relationships like Libra or Aquarius.  Instead, Virgo is earthy and reflects everyday life, our rituals, and the world of natural law.  Virgo is efficient, dutiful, and disciplined and all of these earthy ideals came into question when Uranus and Pluto formed their conjunction.

One of the most notable events of the 60’s was the Vietnam War, and the children of World War II veterans were just not having it.  Protests against the war occurred throughout the United States.  Draft dodgers and conscientious objectors were featured in newscasts, and the unquestioned obedience to the system and authority were smashed as people began to wonder about the motivation of their government and its involvement in foreign affairs.  This period also gave birth to the drug culture and during the later part of the transit issues surrounding homosexuality came front and center with the Stonewall Riots in NYC.

We are now in the first square of the Virgo conjunction, yet many of the same themes have come to the surface.  Labor union disputed in the Midwest, revolutions in the middle east, and individuals coming face to face with their personal desires being at odds with their governments.  Uranus in Aries is concerned with collective ideals of individual progress and destiny; whereas, Pluto in Capricorn is concerned with the tearing down of corrupt governmental structures and replacing it with new structures that are viable to continue to survive in the modern world.   As a result, the questioning of governments and the elimination of that which is perceived as tainted are being cast aside and replaced with some rather unusual world figures.

In the ages chart, Pluto is currently moving through the 11th house of collective groups, and it is not surprising that corruption and decay are projected upon politicians – they are as good of a hook for it as any.  However, groups have also carried projected Pluto regardless of what side of the political spectrum you are on.  We have seen Planned Parenthood, the gun lobby, police officers, certain races, and even the Russian government once again cast as the dark god of the underworld, many of which might rightly deserve the role.  Uranus is moving through the material 2nd house and people’s ideas on their relationship to money and resources and opposition to those that ‘have’ and the question of whether or not this is fair and just are being questioned.  Uranus likes freedom, and in Aries, it wants personal freedom. So, it is not really all that surprising that there is a war between the ‘haves’ and the ‘have-nots”.

I want to address one more thing before I move into the new astrological events we will encounter in 2017.  For those of you that have written to me and asked important questions about the collective energies we are going through, I honestly have no real answers.  I think we all need to remember that we are part of the collective.  I suppose dealing with collective chaos is perhaps dealing with our own issues with a bit of compassion; not only for ourselves but for others.  Collective energies are difficult to manage, and none of us are going to be able to deal with them entirely because they are concerned with issues that are beyond the personal, yet hopefully the collective will move us forward in some creative way that we might not be able to see right now.  It’s up to each of us to develop our inner lives, and perhaps through personal growth and a quest to be authentically ourselves, the world can ultimately change for the better.

Venus Retrograde – The Bitch is Back

Did you know that Venus goes retrograde the least of all the planets?

Well, she does, and her effects are kind of interesting.

This year Venus will go retrograde on March 4th and turns direct on April 15th.

Now, this is where the fun begins!

Venus in Aries is considered in her detriment because the sign of Aries is not focused on other people or the urge towards relationships, nor is it focused on the sensual pleasures of the body.  The sign of Aries is more self-focused, determined, intuitive, and concerned with self-achievement and winning at something in life.

Venus placed in Aries is a dilemma because the urge towards relationship needs to be filled with circumstances (or people) that are exciting, stimulating, and provide her a vehicle through which she can win.  In other words, relationships become more about personal potency than other people.

Now this does not mean that Venus in Aries is incapable of relationships.  It means that Venus in the sign of the ram needs conflict and a battle for relationships to be meaningful.  While Venus moves through Aries, we all will experience a bit of ‘me-ness’ when it comes to relationships.

Venus retrograde is challenging because she tends to be more covert and vain, and instead of being the archetype of the beloved, she tends to become the battle goddess fighting for her individual desires.  Of course, this brings up a whole bunch of rather distasteful issues like infidelity, arguments, love triangles, stress, and since Venus also rules money, our finances may be affected as well.

One thing is for sure, the more repressed Venus is in your life, the more she is going to act up.

The primary area of life that Venus retrograde will influence is relationships.  On one level or another, all of our relationships will feel her battle cry, but for those that currently have relationship issues that are unresolved or the relationship is not meeting your needs, you can expect problems.  Usually, Venus will provoke situations (she even likes self-sabotage) in your life that will bring the issues to the surface so that they can be dealt with accordingly.  This will give you the opportunity to heal relationship issues before they cause irreparable harm.  For those that cannot or will not deal with these issues honestly, and allow continues toxicity to occur, your relationships may come to an end.  Because, in one way or another, Venus will win, and being single is as valid a victory as any other.

Govern yourself accordingly.

Jupiter oppose Uranus, Jupiter square Pluto

Just when you thought that Venus retrograde in Aries was enough stress on relationships, the war on relationships continues through the spring and summer as Jupiter in Libra squares Pluto in Capricorn and opposes Uranus in Aries.

In astrologese, this configuration is known as a t-square, and these are difficult configurations in a personal chart, so they will be especially tricky in on the world stage.

The key to a t-square is figuring out which planets are friends and which are not.

In this case, Jupiter and Uranus are both sky gods.  Both planets are concerned with possibilities and potentials in a world filled with chance and chaos.   Jupiter expands the Uranian need for progress and perfection, which may be beneficial for scientific discoveries and research.  These two planets give us optimism and faith that a better future is possible.  But, there can be issues with relationships because Uranus in Aries is concerned with personal progress and relationships might prove cumbersome. This can lead many to abandon responsibilities and seek personal freedom.  Relationships that are extremely bound and constricted could prove problematic and the more you try to hold on to them, the more painful this transit will be.  In other words, if it’s past the sell-by date, then it is probably best to let it go.

On the other hand, Pluto has little in common with Jupiter and Uranus.  Pluto in Capricorn is interested in destroying structures that are no longer working, but it wishes to build a new system that is more viable and sustainable.  The Capricornian need for wealth, power, social structures, and hierarchy remains – Pluto just wants to amputate what is no longer working in those structures, but Pluto in Capricorn is still Pluto in Capricorn, and every planet works through the energy of the sign it is placed in.

So, you can see what is at odds here.

Uranus and Jupiter’s need for progress, optimism, and personal freedoms is in conflict with the survival instinct.  Pluto says destroy and rebuild, whereas, Jupiter and Uranus would prefer to tear it all down.  This could lead to some rather interesting political battles, but the war in the outer world reflects a war that is going on within all of us.  In other words, the more you try to fight the system, the more challenging the system becomes.  Conversely, if you give into the system, then you lose your sense of individual freedom and potency.

Through most of the year, this t-square will be active.  It augurs a cycle where we need to look at what is holding us back, where we feel constricted, and where we wish to gain power.  None of these desires are wrong, but we have to fundamentally be honest about them.   If we are not, one of the sides of the transit will fall into the unconscious and tends to react badly.  For example, if you side with Jupiter and Uranus, the need for freedom, progress, and personal potency may provoke issues or circumstances in your life where you feel controlled or trapped in a corrupt system that benefits some, but not all.   Alternatively, if you cling on to power and control and are afraid of losing your position, then events or circumstances will occur that shake things up, make life feel unpredictable, and tears your personal system down.

This aspect will be quite the juggling act.  Since Jupiter is in Libra, the likely area of life that will be influenced will be relationships, partnerships, and even activate open enemies.

Be on guard.

August Mega-Eclipse in the United States

For the past 4000 years, astrologers have tracked the path of eclipses.  Eclipses were a cosmic herald of changes that occur on Earth, and even today, they are watched carefully with awe and wonder.

This year the entire continental United States will experience the eclipse that will be total from the coast of South Carolina to the shores of Oregon.

So, mark your calendar – the date is August 21, 2017, and it occurs in the last degree of the sign of Leo.

This is what noted eclipse astrologer Celeste Teal says in her book on eclipses about fire sign eclipses:

“Eclipses in fire signs may produce sensational events with dissension among men, excessive heat, lack of rain, fire, rivers, movements of armies, death or imprisonment of great men, religious disputes, and the destruction of cud-chewing animals.”

Now that is some list, but let me add something else to the mix – the eclipse lands directly on Donald Trump’s ascendant.

OMG!

What does this mean?

Let’s break the eclipse down.

An eclipse is simply a super powered New Moon that is conjoined to the lunar nodes.  I have found over the years that where the eclipses land by sign seems to highlight the most important themes over the coming year.  In this case, a Leonine eclipse would bring forth themes of individual values and development, and it’s an excellent time to do magical or intention work on these issues.

The eclipse lands in the 9th house of the eclipse chart and denotes that higher education, foreigners, and the big picture are where our energies should be focused.  This is amplified by Sagittarius, the natural sign ruler of the 9th house, placed on the Ascendant (1st house).  Of course, anything that has to do with the 9th house also has to do with the world stage, and eclipses could trigger just about anything from a coup to the death of a world leader, which is very likely since the eclipse is conjoined to the fixed royal star, Regulus.

When you combine these placements together, your personal development will occur because of your big picture goals.  In other words, it’s time to focus on your BIG PICTURE PLAN and not be distracted by day to day stuff.  If you do not have a BIG PICTURE PLAN, then the eclipse augurs a time to put one together.

As far as Donald Trump is concerned, I would recommend he stay away from any of the areas that are directly affected by the eclipse path.

Jupiter in Scorpio / Saturn in Capricorn:

Finally, there are two major sign changes this year.  Jupiter, which changes signs every 13 months, will move out of Libra and into Scorpio and Saturn will move out of Sagittarius and into its home sign of Capricorn.

Let’s get to the meat:

This year, Jupiter spends most of its time in Libra.  Jupiter reflects the areas of life where we renew our faith, expand, and find meaning.   When Jupiter is placed in Libra, it’s love relationships, business partnerships, and even our open enemies that he activates.

Relationships are peculiar.   They seem to be what we desire most, but we tend to lack understanding of their meaning and purpose and use phrases, such as ‘my better half’ to attempt to explain them.  The real purpose of relationships is to mirror ourselves so that through our experiences and interactions with others, we experience wholeness.

Jupiter being in Libra provides us with an opportunity to find personal meaning through relationships.   So, this is a good time to look at your various relationships and see where they are restoring your confidence, adding value, and transforming who you are through your simple interactions in them.

In October, Jupiter will move out of the sign of the scales and into the sign of the Scorpion, which will change the mode of how we renew our faith, expand, and find meaning.

Scorpio reflects the areas of life that are hidden and deep.  It’s the laws that are governing us behind our attempts to control them through intellectual reasoning that matter.   Scorpio is connected to fate, and the unfoldment of natural processes, which is why this deeply misunderstood sign is associated with death and the darker elements of life.

Jupiter in Scorpio augurs a 13-month cycle where we will renew our faith in life and find meaning through the discovery of secrets and patterns that exist beneath the surface, yet hold value.  For the water signs (Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces), this will come naturally, and the transit of Jupiter in Scorpio will be filled with experiences that will be easy to manage, but for the other fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, and Aquarius) your challenging experiences may teach you the most about life.  In fact, they will have a ‘meant to be’ feeling about them.

This leads us to our next transit – Saturn moving out of Sagittarius and into Capricorn.

Like Jupiter, Saturn will spend most of the year in the sign that it is already in.  Saturn in Sagittarius has been a rather interesting transit.  Sagittarius has to do with the ‘higher mind’ and ‘continued education, ’ and Saturn has to do with limitations, and seen the frequent instances where ‘higher minds’ have not prevailed, and populist leanings have. On the political landscape, education and knowledge of how a system works have been thrown out the window for intuitive hunches and charismatic figureheads.

In December, Saturn will move out of the sign of the archer and into its own sign of Capricorn.  The last time Saturn was in Capricorn was 1989-1990, and some of the notable news stories were:

The end of the Soviet Union
The Tiananmen Square massacre
The Exxon Valdez Oil Spill
TheLoma Prieta Earthquake
The Savings and Loan Scandal
Saddam Hussein Invades Kuwait
Operation Desert Shield
The Us Enters a Major Recession
George Bush & Mikhail Gorbachev sign historic agreement to end production of chemical weapons ( ** side note – It is interesting that as of this writing, President Elect Donald Trump and Russian President Vladamir Putin have decided to increase nuclear armaments).

As I mentioned earlier, the sign of Capricorn has to do with power, social structure, and hierarchy, and Saturn moving through this sign will attempt to establish rules which preserve the status quo.  This is completely opposite of the campaign promises of 2016, which were about overthrowing the current governmental structure and starting political revolutions.   So, it will be rather interesting to see what is actually changed and what is preserved.  This will be even more curious as Saturn conjoins Pluto in Capricorn in 2020.

On the more personal level, Saturn in Capricorn reflects a cycle where we need to build structure in our lives to preserve our future.   This is not about being overly structured and rigid to the point that there is no longer enjoyment in life, it is more a time of building so we can enjoy living a little bit more.  The earth signs (Virgo, Taurus, and Capricorn) will find this rather easy because it is their natural mode of operation, but for the other cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, and Libra), building structure may come with obstacles that force you into allowing things to develop rather than rushing from one thing to another without building anything.   However, the gifts of this transit are long lasting (28 ½ years worth), so Saturn in Capricorn should be taken rather seriously.

In closing, it is my feeling that 2017 is a seed level year.  It’s a turning point where we decide our fate and the trajectory of our individual lives.  Are we going to continue along the way we have or are we on the precipice of significant change?

One thing is for certain, if we wish to see a change in the outer world, then we ultimately have to change ourselves.

Are you brave enough for the task?

Your Weekend Dose — December 10-11, 2016

Do the holidays make you feel overwhelmed?

I mean there is all the planning, the gift buying, and the people to visit.

It’s a never-ending list of celebratory activities that leave many frustrated and it gets worse as the Christmas (or whatever holiday you celebrate) deadline gets near.

Well, this weekend we get an astrological opportunity to get everything done and out of the way.

Let me tell you how.

On Saturday, Mercury moving through Capricorn forms a sextile to Neptune.  Your creative juices will flow, and this is a splendid time to decide which gifts you are going to give to people, and your sensitivity to them will be heightened, and I find using Mercury-Neptune connections ideal for giving that ‘perfect’ gift for the people in your life that you love.

We also have a conjunction of the Sun and Saturn, which makes us want to get things done and focus on the tasks at hand.  This aspect gives us the ability to plan and organize and since it is not real social, we can get done all the things that often annoy us and get it out of the way so we can enjoy the rest of the season without stress or further annoyances.

On Sunday, the Moon will move through sensual Taurus.  Taurus is the ‘sit back and relax’ sign because it enjoys simple pleasures like a good massage, a luxurious dinner, and even a bit of creamy, decadent chocolate for desert.  It’s the universe’s way of giving us a ‘cheat day’ so that we can enjoy the finer things in life.

*Storm Update*   I am taking next week off from the Daily does – we pretty much only have lunar aspects that are going to happen, so I thought it would be as good of a time as any to finish your Astrology of 2017 forecast, which is my present to you every Christmas.

Be amazing!

Your Daily Dose – December 8, 2016 – Moon in Aries

It’s that time of the month where everything really is about you.

For real. I’m not joking.

Now, I don’t mean in a selfish way. I mean it is the time of the month when the Moon moves into Aries and our focus shifts away from everyone else and back on ourselves in a self-improving and self-affirming sort of way.

In fact, focusing solely on yourself selfishly could lead to difficulties and frustrations, and who really wants to deal with that?

The Moon in Aries can be impatient, impulsive, and a bit self-focused when its energies are expressing negatively, but it’s also a valuable tool for us to put our lives into perspective and go after what we desire.   This is a good time to start or initiate new projects, tackle tasks that are challenging, and achieve our goals.

So, if you have put anything off that needs to be completed before the New Year arrives, now would be the time to do it – especially since Mercury does turn retrograde on December 19th.

The Moon makes a couple of aspects on Thursday – a sextile to Venus and a square to Mercury.  It’s a great day to socialize with others, but be careful of what you say and think things out before you say it.

Be amazing!

Your Daily Dose — December 7, 2015 — Venus in Aquarius

holidayvenusaquarius“I don’t want a lot for Christmas.  There’s just one thing I need.  I don’t care about the presents underneath the Christmas tree…”

Ok, enough Mariah!

But, seriously, we have every reason to get into the holiday spirit because there are no challenging astrological aspects (ignore the upcoming Mercury retrograde) until December 26.

Let me repeat that.

NO CHALLENGING ASTROLOGICAL ASPECTS UNTIL DECEMBER 26.

Yes, that’s right – 20 days of astrological bliss that all begins with Venus moving into Aquarius.

Venus moving out of Capricorn and into Aquarius changes the dynamic of how the love goddess relates.  In Capricorn, she is concerned with career and social standing; whereas, Venus in Aquarius is concerned with our relationships with our friends, the groups we belong to, networking, and our relationship to the greater collective.

So, some fun stuff that should usher in plenty of holiday parties and rockin’ around that big ole Christmas tree!

On a deeper level, the purpose of Venus in Aquarius is two-fold.  First, it represents a cycle where ideas, opinions, and conversations are amplified and helps us understanding ‘our world’ better.  Secondly, Venus in Aquarius is cool and detached, and it has an inherent dislike of emotional intensity and prefers rational communication.  It’s a 3-week cycle of controlling your emotional response and attempting to use your wise mind when relating to others.

While Venus is in Aquarius, it’s an excellent time to reach out to others and take advantage of all your connections.   Contact a friend you haven’t spent time with in a while, and go out for coffee or you can join a new group that shares like-minded ideas.  You will find that the people around you will be more social and this could lead to future opportunities that will help you improve your life.

Venus makes only harmonious aspects (um, hurray!) while she is in Aquarius – and all of them occur on Christmas Day.

It’s going to be a great month for relationships.  Take advantage of it.

Venus will remain in Aquarius until January 3, 2017.

Your Daily Dose – December 6, 2016 – Mars sextile Uranus

changeAre you moving your life forward or are you stuck in a rut?

You know, you want to make a change, but days go by, and you are still in the same position desiring change, but it doesn’t seem to happen for you?

Well, it happens to nearly all of us, but change has never occurred because of good intentions.  Change happens only when you act.

I have great news for those of you that feel stuck. Today, Mars in Aquarius forms a lovely sextile to Uranus in Aries.   All Mars-Uranus aspects can be disruptive and shake things up, but sextiles are easier to manage because the nature of a sextile promotes movement and action, and in the case of Mars sextile Uranus, this action can activate the real change you desire – and Mars – Uranus aspects are a little more reliable than politicians.

One of the most important features of Mars sextile Uranus is that it promotes receptivity to new ideas, viewpoints, and attracts people that will help you move forward in any area of your life where you feel stuck.  These insights will help you make choices in your daily life that provokes the action you need to achieve your objectives.

The only drawback to Mars sextile Uranus is feelings of impatience and restlessness.  It is recommended that you try new things, broaden your experiences, and take risks because it helps invigorate your life, and things won’t feel so repetitious and ordinary.

A quick look ahead – Venus moves out of Capricorn and into Aquarius.  Your social life is about to get busy as the Goddess of Love moves into the sign associated with groups, friends, and network, and yes some of you might just get your freak on.  Just a little bit.

Be amazing!
